Why, LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD. In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by him; he sneers at all his enemies. He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.” He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.” His mouth is full of lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue. He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent. His eyes watch in secret for his victims; like a lion in cover he lies in wait. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength. He says to himself, “God will never notice; he covers his face and never sees.Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.” Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”? But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness that would not otherwise be found out.The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror. Psalm 10 NIV
How long, Lord, how long?
I wonder how many people are asking that question right now. Many are wondering how much longer we must wait to see the lunacy in the White House end.
But it’s not just the White House–it’s the lawmakers who are only considering what is best for the rich–that 2% of the population in the United States. The rest of us–the 98% receive no consideration by them and never have.
How do we know? We have but to look at what’s going on around us–the changes in the EPA agency–established to protect consumers against corporate greed as they pollute the air and waters in order to make themselves more money. We have but to look at the cabinet choices of 45–all wealthy and unconcerned about those who fall into the 98% of the population. The real issue here is–the 98% have more power collectively if they don’t sit on their butts and not pay attention.
Consider–if you will–how much leverage we have if everyone of the 98% picked up a phone and called their representatives expressing their concerns about the plight of America–with healthcare, environmental protections, and jobs (which have not been addressed).
Consider–if you will–how cutting funds to Planned Parenthood will affect the lives of many impoverished women who will be denied access to healthcare, not related to abortions.
Consider–if you will–how putting a person into a qualified position as the Secretary of Education who has no qualifications to be there. Public Education will surely take a hit and how many of the 98% can afford to send their children to private schools?
Consider–if you will–the fact that coal-mining jobs and much manufacturing won’t be making a comeback simply because there is no need for them. The world is moving away from using fossil fuels and considering the fact that coal-mining companies have been given permission to poison the waters, there won’t be many people living in an environment where their water supply is toxic. Automation and robotics have taken the place of people in many manufacturing arenas and therefore, unless a person is highly skilled, there won’t be jobs.
Consider–if you will–how many people will end up not getting the healthcare they need and will end up dying because of the lack of affordable healthcare.
Consider–if you will–how the Republicans tainted the Affordable Care Act by calling it Obamacare–confusing people simply because they didn’t like President Obama.
Consider–if you will–how hatred and acrimony played a part in getting us to where we are in this country–with an idiot in the White House–clearly unfit for the job–and yet, the Christians say nothing all because they want to interfere with a woman’s right to choose what to do with their lives.
Consider–if you will–how much longer we’ll be able take the barrage of foolishness launched at us on a daily basis before we become a nation of apathy–too frustrated to do anything but wait for the fall-out and if we do that–we all lose.
Perhaps–if people had taken more time to consider all the possibilities before they voted, we would not be in the mess we’re in with North Korean attempting to influence another war because it’s leader has no respect for ours.
Perhaps–if people had not been so gullible they believed a liar–we would all be in much better shape by now and able to rest in the assurance of the Lord leading the person in the White House. By her actions and life’s commitment to helping others–she demonstrated her faith in God. By 45’s actions and life of doing nothing other than amassing wealth for himself–he demonstrates he does not know God.
Lord Jesus, only You know the end from the beginning and we thank You for looking out for the 98%–considering us worthy and making a clear path of success for each of us and we continue to serve You and not the dictates of our flesh.
Consider for a moment, the fact that God placed our President Trump into office…
Then consider the fact, that God may be trying to bring people to their knees in order to get their attention…
The love for one another is non-existent… We need to come together as a nation, instead of constantly placing republicans against democrats…
If we work together, with godly motives and hearts filled with the love of Christ…maybe our land can be healed and God can again bless the USA…
Blessings in Christ, bruce

Love exists in my world between those I know and cherish regardless of their ethnicity or faith or political affiliation. I choose to be involved with people who know how to agree and disagree, agreeably. We respect the views of others whether we agree or not.
Now, did you have same attitude about Obama–encouraging submission and support of others who did not agree with his policies as “God’s chosen” person for the position? You see if God is choosing presidents, He chooses them all for He is not a respecter of persons. If you cannot honestly answer this question, we have nothing else to discuss.

I truly believe God chose Obama to be president… And when he was placed into position as president the 2nd time…it confirmed to me that God was tired of being left out of our countries thoughts and actions…
Do you honestly believe Obama was a born again Christian ?? He did everything he could do to destroy out nation with what God designed as the greatest nation in the world…built on godly men who wrote the Constitution based upon one nation under God…
Time will tell…but I truly believe Trump, who I also don;t believe is not a born again Christian…will do what is right in God’s sight, and bring this country back together again… This we must, as Christians be praying for… Not to try and get him thrown out of office by impeachment…

Bruce,
I never said Obama was a born-again Christian, but I do believe he knew God–whether he walked according to His Word “in all things” is another thing. None of us are perfect but we at least know when to admit when wrong. He demonstrated more of the Fruit of the Spirit residing within than tRump ever will. If people keep thinking tRump is going to “pivot” it’s going to be a long wait. He is who he is and nothing short of him seeing a need to change, will ever change that.
Nice deflection though. My question to you was not about Obama’s Christianity–I know he was not Muslim as so many like to promote, but you don’t have to take my word for that. My question was simply about–equity in God choosing presidents. If God chose one; He chose all and if He didn’t choose one; He chose none. Interesting how you say, God chose Obama for the first term and the second term–he was placed in the position. Obama didn’t try to destroy the nation–that’s the gaslighting propaganda used by the GOP to keep the hatred going. And if pushed to do so, I could argue any point offered to the contrary with facts and not opinion. Sorry you were caught up in the false propaganda.
Not even two months in office and the “country” has paid more for tRump’s trips and secret service coverage of three different locations that we paid in Obama’s first term. I tend to use facts over rhetoric when discussing the ups and downs of political views. But go ahead–fact-check me. I’ve gotten pretty good at that. His not paying taxes and cheating people–yeah that’s real christian behavior. His pathological lying–when God hates liars–yep that’s another sure sign he’s a christian. I deliberately didn’t capitalize christian when referencing tRump because that would be a disservice to God. And of course there’s the “birther lie” promoted by tRump and believed by the gullible. All of it–a lie to keep tRump in the news and it worked. He’s still gaslighting people and they’re still believing the liar.
But here’s the thing as I pointed out to you in my email yesterday, God “didn’t establish democracy,” men did. So your argument using Romans 13:1 is flawed and continuing in the same passage–we see Paul talking about God’s servant. tRump is not God’s servant–he has never served anyone other than himself. I’m not even sure he understands the meaning of the word–serve–considering his multiple deferments to escape military service. But if we look at Obama’s life of service–in a number of roles; we can see him serving. In spite of all the hatred launched in his direction–he stayed the course–whether we agreed with his course of actions or not and I did not agree with everything he did. Obama did more to be “inclusive in recognizing the diversity” in this nation than most have ever done. God calls us to “unity” which is what Obama did–tRump is not even willing to consider “all Americans” and we know this because he’s only concerned about his base–not the rest of us.
The bottom line is–none of us should promote lies about God–for any reason. God is so much wiser than we are and for the record–it was not Obama who caused the divisiveness in this country–it was the Republican Obstructionist Tea Party who can take credit for that–as well as all the lying Evangelical leaders–since the Bush era.
But hey, you responded–and did not disappoint–in my foregone conclusions of what you would have to say. Really, such a shame your perceptions of others is so limited by biases established by a political party or pseudo-christians.
And for the record–yeah–tRump does need to be impeached for treason or removed for mental instability. If you paid attention to the news outlets that actually promote truth, you’d see this. But that’s not on me–you have to answer to God for yourself.
Have a wonderful day!

Mary we will never be able to agree on anything, unless the Holy Spirit changes your views… You insist on women having a choice to have an abortion, and be personally responsible for their actions… You will have to admit that God is totally against killing innocent babies, because the mother made a mistake, and having a baby would be an inconvenience…
I voted republican for the platform… Pro-life, and for one, maybe 2 or 3 Supreme court justices to possible overturn roe vs. wade… Yes there will still be abortions…but making them illegal under most instances will drastically cut down on abortions…
And yes, we need to stop the irresponsible fiscal spending…where obama doubled the national debt which took 200 years for all the other presidents to create…
BTW…have you read “The Missing God” written by Francis Chan ?? Just got in my 18th copy to help my current mission to “Book it forward” !!
A great book for the born again Christian, who is not Walking in the Spirit by the full power of the Holy Spirit…

So, it’s my views Holy Spirit needs to change, huh! LOL! Typical!
By the way, did you not know that God is pro-choice? It’s in His Word–as well as the consequences for wrong choices–but He does honor our choices–the Republicans who want to control others.
Have a wonderful day!
