The Power of Belief!

“And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.” (John 3:36 NLT)

Are you an “anyone”? Fortunately, for most of us, we meet the criteria to receive eternal life because we are “anyone” who believes in Jesus.

With so many positive-thinking, motivational speakers out there, we see when we read The Word the principle from which most of them obtained their concepts, even if they won’t admit it. There is power in belief–whether it is positive or negative and the only criteria that must be met–is individual belief.

If we believe that everyone is out to get us–we act out of paranoia–and we never see that some folks are put in our path to help us–not hurt us.

If we believe all the negativity that we ever heard about us–we become bitter and suspicious and in many cases, we operate out of negativity–always expecting the worst to happen to us.

If we believe that we can do all things through Him who loves us–most of us will actually attempt to do things and see success with our attempts.

If we straddle the fence–half-heartedly attempt to do things–we do not get the full measure of success we could have had.

It is the half-hearted beliefs by some who will not see the end result promised to all who believe and obey–eternal life. These are the people who say, “I believe in Jesus, but I don’t believe what His Father said.” Why is this so? When we only read The Word selectively–forgetting that Jesus appeared on the earth as God in the flesh and nothing God the Father had previously said was negated by His appearance on earth. The one thing that most ignore is that we are to, “Love God (and obey) and love one another” as the total fulfillment of everything that God ever said. If we truly believe–we would receive The Word with gladness and obey.

I choose to believe and obey. I am everything that God says I am–blessed, highly favored, more than a conqueror, healed by His stripes, descendant of royalty, joint-heir with Christ Jesus, the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, His treasure, loved beyond measure, and nothing by any means shall stop me from believing what God has said about me. That’s the power of belief–the power needed to successfully navigate life and endure all that comes before us.

What do you believe?

Nothing to Argue!

“Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly” (I Timothy 4:7 NLT).

One of the reasons that “people” have said why no one should discuss “religion and politics” is because there is so much that can be argued, but shouldn’t be.

What a person believes is what “they” believe. No one should attempt to superimpose their belief systems on anyone else because everyone is entitled to believe whatever they want to believe. Belief–in anything–is subjective–not necessarily objective and as such should be respected as an individual’s right.

Part of the problem with “denominationalism” is the fact that every denomination is a split from a foundational belief. This is why we have Catholicism, Baptist, Pentecostal, Lutheran, and a host of other denominations that “chose” to use specific segments of scripture as a foundation for their belief. What has happened is that it has all become “religious institutions” established that have little or nothing to do with Relationship with God.

So, if people want to believe there is “power in things or an object,” let them believe it. If the source of their belief system is contained or confined within man-made objects–that’s their business. However, I would point out that the prophets of Baal discovered there is no power in “the things made by man’s hands” or in “words used as chants or incantations” to evoke the Spirit of God.

If we truly want to see “the power of God operating” in our world, we simply need to develop a relationship with God, obey His voice, and see how loving others can change the environment. Now, that’s “Power” and it is not contained, but as infinite as our God is.

Go ahead–have your discussions about your beliefs, just respect the beliefs of others in the process. God responds to our faith in Him, not the things in which we have faith. Don’t argue–just love!

We Can Have What We Ask!

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you”(John 15:16).

Before the foundation of the earth was laid,

God, in His infinite wisdom, fulfilled plans made,

Choosing us, ordaining us to do His will

So we could ask, whatever we will,

In the name of Jesus and receive,

God’s promises to those who believe.

He knew, Him, we would not choose,

But loved us enough so we would not lose,

Opportunity to having a right relationship,

With Him, who created all things, for us to enjoy

Knowing without Him, Satan, would have our souls to whip,

Influencing our minds, treating us like unwanted toys,

Bruised and broken and ready to throw away,

But Jesus died on the cross, thwarting all Satan’s plans

Fulfilling God’s plans to make sure salvation for man

Became a reality and not just a plan. Now choosing is on us;

Will you receive Him, as your Savior, today

And come into His knowledge of mercy that is just?

The decision to choose to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, is not always an easy one for many people and the reason is–their unwillingness to give up those things that keep them from living right before God. Some make excuses, some attempt to justify, but I am here today; I just want to testify of God’s goodness for all He has chosen and ordained to bring forth fruit–in His name–telling everyone, everywhere I go–that Jesus is Lord and I know for myself that His promises are true; what He has done for me, He will also do for you because He is not a respecter of persons. What He does for one, He’ll do for others.

Try Him. Shake off the attitude of unbelief and believe in His goodness and know that He chose you from the beginning–to give you life abundantly without reservation and all you need to do is repent, receive, and believe that Jesus is and always will be, with you and you’ll never be alone. He loved you enough to die for you as part of the Father’s plan, will you love Him enough to live for Him–starting right now?

Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask for hearts to be touched and souls to be won to the Kingdom for Your glory. We pray for them to find bible-based-teaching churches where their thirst for knowledge can be filled and ignited and fueled to share what they know with others, producing good fruit. We thank You for Your Word we can use as our guide for doing all things well at Your direction so others will know and receive You this day. Amen!

Believe When You Ask!

“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord” (James 1:6,7 NIV).

One of the reasons that many people do not get a chance to see their prayers answered is because when they ask God for something, they really don’t have the faith to receive. How do we know that we lack faith to receive?  When we doubt, “if it be possible Lord…”  With God, all things are possible so why would we hinder God by not believing His Word?  When we keep asking for the same thing over and over again, we demonstrate that either we don’t believe He heard us or He might forget.  God hears and answers prayer.  The answer may not be what we expected, but He does not ignore us. “A delayed response is not a denial” to our request.  Sometimes, we are not ready to receive the abundance He has to give us and so He waits until we are.

Don’t complain and become bitter when prayers are not answered instantly.  Wait! The answer is coming.  Don’t doubt!  The Word says that when we doubt we are “double-minded” and we can expect to receive “absolutely nothing” from Him.

When we ask, we must believe that He hears and He will respond–not necessarily when we  want Him to respond, but He is always on time (His timing). When we ask, we must keep thanking Him for what we have asked until we see it come to pass.  Our thanks to Him before we see the answer demonstrates our faith, not our doubt.

Don’t let the enemy deceive you into thinking God doesn’t care about you.  He does and when you ask, in Jesus’ name, He is obligated to respond to any prayer that aligns with His Word.  “God is not a man that He should lie.”  Believe when you ask and watch how God works!

I am so confident that I will see 1 million copies of my books sold on http://www.amazon.com/Mary-M.-Hall-Rayford/e/B00BAW31CQ that I keep praising Him, daily for His goodness, mercy, and favor in touching the hearts of 1 million plus readers.  Hallelujah!  He is just that Good!

Answered Prayers!

“as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many” (2 Corinthians 1:11 NIV).

As Paul relates problems encountered by him and other disciples to the church at Corinth, he also encourages them to pray and thanked them in advance for their continued prayers for others.

“Then many will thanks on our behalf…” Are there many people giving thanks today for the those who are praying on their behalf, even when they don’t know it?  Sometimes, we have to pray for people we don’t even like–not for us–but for them, so they will have reason to give God thanks for the answers, solutions, to their situations. Do we have to know the situation for every person?  No, we just have to be faithful and pray–without ceasing, always giving thanks to the Father what He does.

I know there are some–a little skeptical about the power of prayer–who after watching the news day after day and see tragedy after tragedy would not see any need to pray.  But there is a need. “The fervent (passionate) effectual (specific to the problems) prayers of the righteous avails (results in answers) much. Let’s try it, now!

Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to touch the lives of everyone who reads this prayer and move upon them to seek You on the behalf of people everywhere–who have suffered trials and tragedies and comfort their hearts.  I ask You to open the spiritual eyes of all who have a need today and give them direction by showing them all You have prepared for them so that every need is met.  I bind the thoughts of the enemy who would dare to feed them negative thoughts and attempt to influence them in unbelief.  I declare healing for every person who will receive it right now. Speak to the hearts of saints everywhere and remind them to show love everywhere they go so all will know, who we are and whose we are. Help us, who know You, to be a living letter, a walking testimony of Your goodness,  mercy, and grace. All these things I ask and thank You for, in Jesus’ name and declare it done!  Amen!

Now, only believe–all things are possible–when we only believe (without doubt)!

No Doubt

Believe and doubt not and whatever we say, will come to pass!

Discouragement and doubt are the tools the enemy uses to make us feel insignificant or defeated. The Good news is–whenever the “thought” is planted we can immediately dispel it by saying out loud–I have no doubts about anything God has promised!

The Word tells us that if we have the faith–the size of a mustard seed, we can “say” to the mountain–“move and it will have to go!”

“Mountains of doubt and discouragement–go sink into the sea, never to be seen again. I will have all that God has said I will have and nothing, absolutely nothing will deter me!”

Glory to God! Unmovable Faith–removes all doubt!
