If Not Now, When?

Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer. How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods? Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him. Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the Lord. Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us. Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. For those actively involved in The Resistance, we have won a small battle, but the war is not over. We must continue the fight against injustice and an unjust person in the WH.

For those who were not actively involved, what’s holding you back? Are you waiting for God to come down out of the clouds and speak to you personally about defending the rights of the poor and the needy? He has already said what we are to do in His Word.

For Christians to not know that it is our responsibility to defend the rights of the poor, needy and vulnerable, what is it going to take to get that through to hearts? How can anyone say they are a Christian and not do what Jesus did and told us to do–love?

If not now, when will it be a good time to demonstrate our love for God and in obeying His Word?

If not now, when will it be a good time to repudiate the notion that God chose trump to be the president of the United States when all he has done–indicates his love and fear of Putin is greater than his love for America?

If not now, when will Christians lift up the name of Jesus in their conduct and not just lip service by caring for all human beings and in protecting their rights?

If not now, when will Evangelical leaders remember they are supposed to follow after God and all He has put on their hearts to do–according to His Word–not their personal agendas.

If not now, when will those sitting in churches, listening to those promoting hatred and bigotry of others have the courage to get up and walk out–letting the leadership know, why they’re leaving?

If not now, when will people stand up and speak out against those who perpetuate hatred against other human beings?

God is not pleased with our lack of compassion for other human beings, our treatment of those who are not like us and certainly our lack of concern for the rights of the poor, needy, and vulnerable. If anyone thinks that God is going to bless them for promoting hatred and embracing the lies of a liar, think again. God hates liars and has prepared a place for them all in the lake of fire.

People have rejected the most qualified person on the planet to be in the Oval Office and elected a “Napoleon wannabe” as a leader of the free world. He has accused President Obama of not being a strong leader (like Putin) and yet he has failed to be an “effective leader” since he has no clue what it means to be a public servant. He wants to be a dictator–who abides by no rules or policy or protocol–and uses threats and attempts to intimidate others–being a cowardly bully instead of a leader. He has refused to accept the fact that he cannot govern a nation run like one of his failed businesses. The chaos in the White House will continue until the people–all the sane folks in America–wake up and see that it’s time for a real change–and if not now, when?

In 2018, the people must balance those in Congress so they’ll be forced to work for the people, not a party agenda. In 2020, we must elect a president who understands the struggles and challenges Everyday Americans face and who will represent Everyday Americans and not a personal agenda. I’m an Everyday American who has lived the challenges most of us face and I know, I can and will represent all Americans since I have no personal or political agenda to achieve–other than doing what is best for all Americans.  Your support in this endeavor is appreciated.

Day Thirty!

Lord Jesus,

You have kept us focused on the prize in our obedience to praising You. You have given us boldness, courage, stamina and insight with wisdom from above to keep moving forward, daily exercising our gifts in giving You praise.

Lord, thank You for continuing to pour into us knowledge and wisdom and desire to know truth and to always speak truth about all things. Daily, we’ll lift our hearts and sing praises unto You for there is no other like You worthy of our praise!

Thank You for always quickening our spirits when dismayed and providing us with a circle of others who love You to keep us encouraged. Thank You for keeping our thoughts from straying as we continue to work to seek justice for all and to right wrongs perpetuated against others.

Thank You for being a beacon of light in the darkness of a world filled with hate and giving us boldness to speak love, dispelling the darkness in the hearts of those who do not know You, anointing them with Your love.

Thank You for being in the chambers of the Senate and House–speaking a word of encouragement to the hearts of those who stand up and speak out for those whose voices are not heard through their own attempts to speak loudly. Thank You for giving all elected representatives hearts of flesh and not of stone so they’ll be moved with compassion and put country before party.

Lord, our Lord–who is mighty in battle and a conqueror never defeated–thank You for pouring into us Your spirit so we too can keep fighting the good fight of faith and are strengthened by the love You have for us in doing what is right for all people.

Blessed is the name of the Lord and blessed are those who obey Him in all things. Blessed are we who love You, O Lord that we might be a blessing to others and all who do not know You will come to know You through our living example of The Word.

Day Ten

O Lord,

If the meadows and valleys can shout for joy and sing, surely Your children, those You have chosen as messengers and Watchmen can do no less.

You are the God of our salvation and we have no need to fear what the enemy might do, for You have prepared us in more ways than one to stand firm on Your Word and never waver, never doubt Your faithfulness towards us and to always walk embraced by love and mercy.

As the days unfold, one by one and we see the events revealed that demonstrate the lack of love for You and our brothers and sisters, we can still look to You–our hope and our help–for with You all things are possible and we will know victory in every area of our lives.

For those who are discouraged–encourage their hearts, Lord by speaking to them and reminding them how much loved they are. Give them a desire to keep going and to allow the love of Holy Spirit to flow through their bodies and into their minds, giving them courage and boldness to speak up and stand up for righteousness and to fight against the evil that attempts to overtake us.

Lord, remind those who think they are superior to other human beings that You created one man, one woman and commanded them to multiply and cover the face of the earth as one human race. Though our tongues speak many languages and our skin tones are many hues, we are yet one–one race, one blood, one of Your Children for whom You have prepared a place for us in heaven.

Lord, catheterize every heart and drain all hate from it replacing every void with love, peace, mercy and kindness, with joy overflowing into the lives of all who are around us.

Thank You for granting us an opportunity to spend time with You–allowing You to nurture our souls and replenish our hope and joy as events of the day attempt to drain us. Thank You for loving us enough to use us for good and not evil. Thank You for molding and shaping us to be more like You every morning we rise.

Because of You, O Lord, we can hold our heads high, knowing who we are and what we have in You. Because of You, we can sing out loud our praise for You and never fear what others may think or say. Because of You, we can move forward–desiring nothing more than to see peace and love overflow in the earth so all may come to know You and be glad about it.

Thank You, Lord for one more day to give You praise and to see the marvelous works we know will result in our obedience to You. In Jesus’ name we pray and thank You, Amen!

Day Seven

Lord,

As You look upon us today and see our challenges, encourage our hearts O Lord, to keep looking to You, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

As we look to You for direction, feed us O Lord with wisdom from on high--wisdom only You can give and only those filled with Holy Spirit can discern and share with others.

Lord, we are Your children and we know You only give good gifts as any loving Father would do. When Your children are starving, You will not give us stones. When Your children are lost, You will not lead them down paths of destruction. When Your children desire wisdom, You will not give them foolishness. When Your children desire truth, You will not give them lies for we know how much You hate a liar.

Lord, we know and recognize all the attributes You have and when they are present in those who claim to love You.

You, O Lord are as transparent as clear glass and there is nothing hidden about You unless people have chosen to live in darkness and never acknowledge who You are.

You, O Lord are light that dispels the darkness and brings every hidden thing into the light for all to see.

You, O Lord are love and do nothing out of hatred and neither will You encourage Your children to hate.

You, O Lord are the God of peace, not chaos; stability and not unrest; unity and not divisiveness and those who love You, demonstrate who You are in like manner.

You, O Lord are our banner of strength and courage and You give us boldness to keep marching forward, doing all You put on our hearts to do no matter what the enemy does.

You, O Lord are the gift that keeps giving and never allows any of Your children to suffer from lack.

You, O Lord know our thoughts before we ever think them and You speak to our hearts to keep us on the path of righteousness.

You, O Lord have quickened our spirits to always stay in the battle–defending the rights of the poor and needy when they have no voice or strength to fight on their own.

You, O Lord remind us daily that You and You alone are God, You are the only One who has heaven and hell–prepared for those who obey or disobey.

You, O Lord have given us right examples in what our attitude should be in all situations, as Peter and other apostles realized in the face of certain death, “We must obey God rather than human beings.” (Acts 5:29 NIV)

Lord, we pray that everyone who has a heart for You, will remember that obedience to You is better than sacrifice and whatever You have promised when we obey, will be ours.

Lord, we thank You for searing the hearts of all who would attempt to deter and manipulate others from hearing You, out of greed for riches, status, and power. Show them their end if they refuse to hear You.

Lord, we thank You for giving most of us–an ear and heart to hear–both naturally and spiritually–all You are saying and for giving us a mind to please You and no one else.

For all You have done, are doing and will do in the lives of those who love You and obey, we give You praise and glory for You are the only one worthy of it.

Thank You for hearing and answering our prayers this day and always. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Speaking With Confidence!

Speaking With Confidence!

In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory. For this reason I kneel before the Father,  from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:12-19 NIV

Having the love of Christ abiding within our hearts is more important than anything else we could obtain. With His love, we can boldly approach the throne of Grace and place our petitions before Him, knowing He hears and will respond.

Therefore, with the love of Christ, overflowing in my heart, I boldly speak, with confidence that God’s plan will prevail–no matter what we think about anything and that includes the political climate.

The email situation won’t matter any more than being lewd and crude will matter in the greater scheme of God’s plans.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is residing within–we can see the evidence–from without. Where there is love, not hate; where there is love, not fear; where there is love, not doubt; where there is love, not fear-mongering; where there is love, not rumor-mills feeding gossip; where there is love, not encouragement to do violence. Where there is love, there is a desire to serve God and people. Where there is love–we know, who knows God.

What we all must do is to seek Him, hear and obey.

I have sought Him and according to His Word, I have obeyed.

Who Do We Turn To?

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:12-16 NIV

When in trouble–who are we going to call? Perhaps, one of the reasons we are facing such difficult times in our society is that we are looking in the wrong direction for help. There is no help from the government coming our way unless The Lord moves upon the hearts of all those in authority to make a real difference in our world. And while many of those in authority do not have a heart for God, it is up to us who do–to seek Him to radically change hearts towards Him.

The Word of God tells us, “We don’t have what we need because we don’t know how to ask for it.” (James 4:2,3)  How do we ask? We boldly approach God, knowing that our Father loves us and only wants the best for us, therefore His ear is inclined to hear us. When we know we live to please Him, we don’t need to hesitate to put our requests before Him and have faith that He will respond to our requests.

Unfortunately, too many people approach God timidly–fearful and hesitant–because they think He won’t hear them.  They are like that child who wants something from their parents, but mumble under their breath–afraid to speak up–with their heads down–not wanting to face them. Some parents have to prod this child to even understand what it is they are asking and sometimes, frustration gets in the way of the request and no one is happy. Is that how we approach God when we need help? Are our heads hanging down because we know we have not obeyed His Word? Is this why we are hesitant and fearful?

It’s not like He doesn’t know what we need or want before we even ask. He just wants us to be bold enough to ask Him. That boldness is demonstrated in an assurance that He will grant our request–not arrogance in thinking He has to do anything–but confidence in His love and living right before Him.

Instead of looking for an individual–mere mortals in government to change our situations–let’s look to The Lord, boldly putting our requests before Him and then let’s listen to what He has to say and obey!  If our motives are right, He will hear and grant our request–of that we can be sure of!

The Time Has Come!

“In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” (2 Timothy 4:1-3 NIV)

Careful observation and introspection of current events and a society that willfully turns its back on God and His ways to accommodate sin, lets us know--the time has come–when people will not hear sound doctrine, but prefer to seek and support those who cosign perversion in our daily lives.

How do we know? We’ve given people carte blanche  to use illegal drugs (mind-altering drugs that inhibit rational thinking) under the guise of medical use. And in some places–the medical use facade is not even in question and a church in Illinois has been established where they worship–marijuana. Since that’s all they will be doing is getting high–I wonder what the consequences will be when they’re involved in situations where others are injured or killed.

Standing up for beliefs based upon the bible has become the foundation others use to ridicule and persecute–on all fronts. There are those who obviously do not understand history and the fact that this country was established on the foundation of civil disobedience against what they felt was the tyranny of England. Civil disobedience–a willingness to take a stand against injustice has always been a factor in how this country does business. However, when a county clerk in Kentucky stands firm in her beliefs–the venom spews like the winds blowing dust–covering everything in hatred of followers of Christ.

What continually amazes me is the lack of tolerance for Believers and what they believe by those who claim we are intolerant against their lifestyles that are in opposition to God’s Word. We don’t hate and spew obscenities at those who disagree with us. Most of us (Believers) understand that people may not agree with our view and accept it–without argument or denigration of a person’s stance. Personally, I’m not interested in debating anyone about God’s Word, but I do love a discussion in which all can be enlightened.

Yesterday, because I dared to comment on a news article (and trust me, I knew what would happen), haters came out of cyberspace almost before I finished typing. Now, remember–I commented on the article–not to a person who had already commented, but suddenly, I was the villain because I dared to commend Kim Davis on her stand. I had a number of people who tried to use the Bible to deflect from their hatred–from women speaking in a church being sin, to gay rights supporters using the race card (how dare I support Kim Davis since I had only been allowed to vote for the last 60 years), to assuming what my background is without any knowledge of who I am.

What did I do? I preached The Word, providing scripture references to support what I said and reminded all who hated, that God loved them and so do I. The devil couldn’t stand it when I told people I loved to love them and they eventually stopped commenting.

Instead of engaging on the level of ignorance of God’s Word shown by unbelievers, all we should do is to proclaim and explain God’s Word–no matter how foolish someone else might be. One person–even told me (I have it copied into a document) that MEN wrote the bible, but GOD wrote the ten commandments. When I questioned how they could believe God wrote the ten commandments but could not inspire men to write the bible, I received no reply. I realized that this person was merely referencing what they had seen in a movie–since they did not realize that the ten commandments are located in the bible–the same bible they refuted since “fallible, fickle men” wrote it.

Let’s endeavor to do what God said for us to do–preach The Word, be prepared in all situations to say what God said, and know why He said it so we can explain it to others. The time has come for us–who Believe in the totality of God’s Word and its contextual meaning to stand firm and proclaim it with confidence in Him, strengthened and empowered by Holy Spirit.  

Are We Praying?

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” (Colossians 4:2-6 NIV)

When I think about what I might do if I was in chains, I wonder if I would have had the fortitude that Paul had. I honestly don’t know the answer to that because I’ve never been locked away from people or in chains. I can only pray that my devotion to God would enable me to do likewise.

But that’s the key–devotion–totally dedicated and committed to doing what is needful. Although most of us are appalled with the way the terrorist groups treat Christians, we must admit they are totally devoted to their goal–no matter how inhuman it is. They are so committed to accomplishing their goal they are willing to die to see it come to pass.

I don’t want to be involved with taking the life of a another human being, but wouldn’t it be great if the rest of us were as devoted to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the terrorists are in trying to decimate us?

This, then is why Paul encouraged the church at Colosse (and us) to devote ourselves to prayer–being in constant communication with God about everything that concerns us. He cautions us to be watchful–paying attention to the changes taking place around, hearing Holy Spirit when He warns us of things to come, and taking whatever action we need to take to make sure the way of the Gospel is never blocked or closed to all those who desire to hear it.

Let’s face it–we have not always heeded Paul’s advice which is why there are so many changes in our society–and not all of them good. We were not being watchful when Madeline Murray O’Hara decided that her children didn’t need to be exposed to anyone praying in schools. The Body of Christ didn’t think she’d accomplish her goal and did nothing and so today, the school systems all over the country are running amuck because open prayer is not allowed. In other words–the devil won that round. But there are still those who are devoted to praying–and students are leading prayer circles in limited situations. Hooray for the brave, bold students, but what happened to the adults who should have been fighting for the rights of all to hear and agree with the prayers?

Once again, Christian Leadership in the country failed to act on warnings by Holy Spirit and the Supreme Court has led the way for the downward spiral of morality and we shall soon see such decadent immorality that it will make our dead ancestors cringe in unbelief. Were we praying before issues reached the Supreme Court? Were we praying that our elected body of legislators would do their jobs?

Are we praying–even now–or have we become complacent and apathetic–willing to just let things take their course?

My daily prayer includes thanking God for wisdom being poured out upon every leader in this country–that they will hear from heaven and act accordingly. I’m praying that those who made the decision to legalize sin would repent and for those participating in sinful acts would repent and seek God. I thank God for the ability to love, the boldness to teach His Word, and the wisdom to know what to say and when. I thank God for inspiring me to teach my children and grandchildren to learn to please God, not man. And more importantly, I’ve taught them to seek God–communicating with Him on a daily basis–for answers to all their questions and solutions for all their problems.

Are we praying? Are we devoted to seeking God for every situation we encounter–for peace in the world and salvation for all?

Lord, give us insight to know that we will never have the answers for all the world’s problems, but You do. And when You speak to us–directing us in how to help solve them, give us an ear to hear and a made-up mind to do–just as You direct us to do, exercising Godly wisdom at all times. Thank You for loving us enough to give us chance after chance to get things right before You return. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!

Identified by God!

“It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.” (I Corinthians 1:21,22 NLT)

We seem to be in a never-ending search–trying to determine our identity–who we are, our roles in society, our value–and for the Believer–we have already been identified and marked with His stamp of approval–Holy Spirit indwelling in us.

When I hear about people in “identity crises” I cringe. I mean I know what it’s like for people to wonder who they are when their parents or other ancestors are not known, when their origins are obscure and they feel like they just don’t fit in with the family they have. I even understand people trying to find themselves as a transitional stage of life, but for Believers to not know who they are and do everything they can to fit in with “the world” just does not make any sense to me.

First of all, for a Believer to say they do not know their identity in Christ Jesus, I’d have to question their proclamation of being a Believer. Being a Born-Again Believer is not about being in a certain denomination or having a particular religious affiliation–it’s about having a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

We overcome any doubts about who we are by staying in God’s Word, being in constant communication with Him and knowing when Holy Spirit is speaking to us; empowering us to do all that God has asked us to do. He has already identified us, so why are we in doubt?

The doubt is not a part of every believer’s life, but for those who waver–on one side of the fence or the other about belonging to Him or being part of the world’s system of political correctness. For those whose minds have been clouded with the deceptions of Satan, believing that what God said He no longer means, and we can just do anything we want, change any body parts we want simply because we “do not know” who we are. He knows who we are–before the foundations of the earth, He knew and established plans for us–plans to prosper us, not to harm us. He knows the future He wants for us, so who are we to change His plans?

He created us in His likeness–male and female–with specific roles to accomplish and equipped us with the means to live the identity He gives.

If people do not know who they are, perhaps it is because they do not know who He is and how He does things. Perhaps, they think they know better than He does and are determined to “create their own identity” apart from the one He has already established. I’m praying for them–for God’s wisdom to saturate their minds and hearts and truly see Him in all His glory and understand He knows–far more than we could ever understand.

Now, if God has identified us and empowered us with Holy Spirit living within us, why are we so afraid to let the world know who we are? We are not fooling God by being under-cover Christians because He does not need secret agents working on His behalf. We must learn to go about our Father’s business in the boldness we have and be even bolder because the enemy is bold and we should be bolder.

For those who are wavering in their faith of God–I understand the identity crisis. For those who proclaim total belief in God, there should never be an identity crisis. Who are you? Do you know your identity? Are you familiar with the rich heritage we have as Believers? If there is any doubt–seek Him and know–you have been identified by Him and given His stamp of approval with Holy Spirit.

Speak Boldly!

“Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech—” (2 Corinthians 3:12 NKJV).

In the beginning of this passage of scripture Paul is making a case for how people felt when they looked upon Moses saw the glory on his face. Now, the glory that Moses had, ceased to exist with his death, but the glory of the Spirit, that lives within us, never passes away, never ceases to exist whether we remain or not. The Spirit of the Lord is in the earth realm, abiding in whoever will receive Him and as such, we have no need to be shy or doubtful when we speak The Word of God!

Speak The Word boldly wherever you go, whenever a need arises, never doubting or being fearful of what others may think. Speak what God has already said, knowing all glory belongs to Him and not us. Speak with clarity, demonstrating both a relationship with God and understanding of what He has said. Speak as the Holy Spirit urges to speak, whether it is convenient or not; whether people want to hear it or not, speak The Word of God boldly!

When the enemy rises up with false doctrine, speak the truth boldly, countering every word the enemy speaks with God’s truth. Speak the Word boldly–in the face of ignorance and wilful disobedience. Speak the Word boldly–to preachers who have backed down from preaching God’s Word and into preaching their own doctrine. Speak the Word boldly to the lost so they might be saved. Speak the Word boldly to those who are trying to understand, but are yet flailing in a sea of doubt. Speak the Word as boldly as the enemy attempts to dilute, pollute, and convolute God’s intent of the Word.

After praying and asking for God to give you boldness, get up and get out and Speak The Word, boldly so that none will doubt your sincerity as a follower of Christ. Don’t back down, don’t turn around, look forward and speak boldly–God’s Truth–knowing that we will be judged for all that we either do or don’t do.
