Americans Must Speak For America!

Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. In your anger do not sin. When the Secretary of State tells people, “the president speaks for himself,” it speaks volumes — he is not speaking for Americans or even on behalf of Americans — his narcissistic approach to everything — it’s all about him. It’s never about what’s best for the country.

He thinks it’s more important for him to deliver on ill-conceived promises than to pay attention to public opinion. Hence, his determination to build a wall that no one thinks is vital other than his base — 33% of the population; his determination to deport Dreamers — proving how inhuman he is; and his constant obsession with Obama and the lies he spreads — all proven lies. Lest we forget, he’s now pulling advertising funds to promote ACA in order to prove how “disastrous” it is. He thinks if people forget to enroll by deadlines, his point will be made. How presidential is that — undermining the ability of millions of people to have access to healthcare? Is he speaking for Americans or himself — one more ill-conceived promise that appealed to his base because they didn’t realize — Obamacare — was in fact the ACA.

More importantly, on the issues of racism, and fascism, he says one thing and yet does another. His mouth and his actions are always misaligned and out of step with the rest of the world. We see this with his “multiple” addresses of the racial tension and the death of Heather Heyer in Charlottesville, VA. Saying what’s on a teleprompter — words of others — we see how disconnected he is to the words in his monotonous delivery. Speaking from his heart — we hear the venom and rage against anyone who dares to question him and we see his unequivocal support of white nationalist groups and the KKK. Kellyanne Conway was right — we shouldn’t pay attention to what he says, we should watch what he does for — “from the abundance of the heart” the mouth speaks and actions follow.

Not knowing history, he maintains the confederate symbolism should stay where they are. He refuses to include the KKK or other hate groups on the terrorist watch list, but would instead include the group that will oppose the hate groups — openly — antifa.

His support and pardon of Joe Arpaio proves how racist he really is and that he has no respect for the rule of law.

His bullying rhetoric provoking North Korea puts all of us in danger, but he doesn’t care because his ego has something to prove — other than being a total idiot — I have no idea what that might be.

And now because he can’t have his way with Congress, he’s decided to bully them — apparently confused about their role — they don’t work for him; they’re supposed to work for all Americans. His lack of knowledge about how government works is appalling and his notion that being president made him a king is laughable — at times. He wants to be a dictator so badly that he’s going to wind up sitting behind bars — contemplating where he went wrong.

I can’t speak for him or others, but I can speak for myself and hope every other American speaks for themselves — to the world — letting them know — trump does not speak for us.

To the Mainstream Media who has been so vilified by trump — I thank you for your efforts in keeping America informed with truth, and not lies. I thank you for the sacrifice — risking your lives to bring us awareness of crises in our land.

To the thousands of volunteers who assisted in the rescue of Texas residents, who made sure they survived — thank you.

To the thousands of people who donated/contributed supplies, money, time, whatever they had to help those in need — thank you.

To the Coast Guard who performed admirably even under the threat of having funding for their unit cut — thank you.

To the churches and mosques who opened their doors to shelter those in the storm — thank you.

Since trump thought people in a shelter were showing “lots of happiness” and refused to address their plight — by telling them to “enjoy themselves and have a good time,” he showed how foolish he was. He was only there for the photo op to re-do his inability to show empathy in a previous visit to Corpus Christi. He failed miserably. Showing up for scripted photo-ops does not mean he has empathy; it simply means he was following the script — as most “actors” do.

His vilification of the media does not speak for me. His disdain for any people of color does not speak for me. His lies — about everything — do not speak for me.

We are in America — where there is supposed to be justice for all — regardless of skin tones, ethnic background, religion or gender — and trump does not regard the Constitution nor is he upholding his oath of office. Therefore, he cannot represent Americans in his illogical delivery of a warped vocabulary or word salad.

We are better than his words, his attitude and his actions. We will speak for ourselves so that the world may know — he doesn’t speak for us or represent anything we believe. We openly and categorically denounce the heinous actions of all hate groups and we denounce trump for enabling them with his “hate-group language codes and symbolism.”

The world is watching America, what are we going to do to stop the nonsense? I don’t know about you, but I’m preparing for a presidential run in 2020 in which I hope to win and change the world’s views about who Americans really are.

He’s Watching!

He’s Watching!

He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them–he remains faithful forever. He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. Psalm 146:6-9 NIV

No matter how gloomy the environment gets with the ways of those who claim to know God, but demonstrate they do not, we can rest assured, that nothing escapes The Lord. He hears it all, sees it all, and He will reward each and every person according to their deeds.

God is watching those who are trying to oppress by separating families and suppressing voters. He is watching those who are being detained, deported and imprisoned–unjustly. He is watching those who are trying to keep people from dreaming of better days with the totally inept and incompetent, heartless Republican Congress who would keep people from leading healthy lives.

God is watching how Republicans make a sham and mockery of saying they “serve God and country” when neither is evident with their current actions. They do not know Jesus Christ since they do not care about the poor and the needy and are doing all they can to put to death those who are not wealthy enough to afford healthcare. They are not the righteous; they are the unrighteous and all their rhetoric and deeds–in secret–and openly are known to God, and He will expose them all. There is nothing we can say that God doesn’t hear and nothing we can do that He doesn’t see. He’s watching.

It is truly unfortunate for all Americans that some had so much hatred and vitriol rising up within them they voted for hatred and racism and heartlessness to reside in the White House. Now, everyone must suffer for their lack of vision, for the Word says, without a vision, the people perish.

Here’s my vision–in 2018–we elect the party that cares about all Americans, not just some of them and rid ourselves of the menace that currently resides in the White House. In 2020, we elect a woman–with no political baggage, no ties to Russia, and no celebrity status, but a wealth of experience in knowing the challenges faced by Everyday Americans,  how to treat people and in seeking the qualified to fill positions of authority. We can do something about the current environment if we are bold enough to do what is right, more than what is politically expedient and then sit back and moan and groan with the consequences. God is watching it all and He knows how He wants to be represented in the earth, and it is not by a group of people who do not live like He wants us to live and certainly not by a toddler-in-chief who lacks maturity, wisdom, and common sense.

With Great Compassion!

This is what the LORD says: “In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’ “They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill. They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up. No matter what happens to us–we can hold onto this unchanging truth–God will never forget us!

Politicians may forget what they say and ignore those who forged the path of their success, but God won’t.

Parents may forget about what their children should mean to them, but God won’t.

Older Americans suffering from dementia and Alzheimers may forget much of their life, but God won’t forget one moment of their lives.

God’s remembrance of us and for us is a result of His compassion for the nations. He knows all about our troubles, and He knows when we veered to the left or the right instead of staying on the path He established for us, but His compassion keeps our place with Him until we find our way back to where He would have us. Hallelujah!

Without compassion–we who believe would be lost and so would the rest of the world. It is our responsibility to be the living example of who Jesus Christ is and unless we conduct ourselves as ambassadors for Christ–the nations will be lost. We must be compassionate people–able to love and care for others–especially those who don’t look like us, believe like us, or think like us.

If we can only be compassionate to those who are like-minded, what have we accomplished? Our compassion has to extend beyond our immediacy or the immediacy of those we know. They should know–who we are in Christ–and if they don’t, we haven’t done a good job of living the message. We must move out of our comfort zones and extend compassion without bias to all who need need it–whether we think they deserve it or not.

Think about this for a moment–and be honest with yourself–do we really deserve God’s compassion? Is there anything we could have done to earn His compassion when He made the decision to leave His throne, live among us, and for us that we might have eternal life? No–there is nothing we could have done to earn His favor and compassion. He did what He did because of love–He is Love–and He will continue to shower us with compassion because He can do nothing more than He is–Love!

Without having a compassionate nature–one that sees and feels the needs of others pulling at heart strings–one cannot lead a nation into anything other than chaos and bondage. When a leader has no compassion for others, their deeds are only intended to benefit them. Remember that!

Day Thirty!

Lord Jesus,

You have kept us focused on the prize in our obedience to praising You. You have given us boldness, courage, stamina and insight with wisdom from above to keep moving forward, daily exercising our gifts in giving You praise.

Lord, thank You for continuing to pour into us knowledge and wisdom and desire to know truth and to always speak truth about all things. Daily, we’ll lift our hearts and sing praises unto You for there is no other like You worthy of our praise!

Thank You for always quickening our spirits when dismayed and providing us with a circle of others who love You to keep us encouraged. Thank You for keeping our thoughts from straying as we continue to work to seek justice for all and to right wrongs perpetuated against others.

Thank You for being a beacon of light in the darkness of a world filled with hate and giving us boldness to speak love, dispelling the darkness in the hearts of those who do not know You, anointing them with Your love.

Thank You for being in the chambers of the Senate and House–speaking a word of encouragement to the hearts of those who stand up and speak out for those whose voices are not heard through their own attempts to speak loudly. Thank You for giving all elected representatives hearts of flesh and not of stone so they’ll be moved with compassion and put country before party.

Lord, our Lord–who is mighty in battle and a conqueror never defeated–thank You for pouring into us Your spirit so we too can keep fighting the good fight of faith and are strengthened by the love You have for us in doing what is right for all people.

Blessed is the name of the Lord and blessed are those who obey Him in all things. Blessed are we who love You, O Lord that we might be a blessing to others and all who do not know You will come to know You through our living example of The Word.

None Like Our God!

None Like Our God!

Who among the gods is like you, LORD? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Exodus 15:11 NIV

“There is none like You. No one else can touch my life like You do.

I could search for all eternity long and find, there is none like You!”

“In times like these, we truly need a Savior. In times like these, we need a friend.

Be very sure, your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock. His name is Jesus!”

Song lyrics keep rising in my spirit as I attempt to reconcile my thoughts and feelings  about all the tragedies occurring around us. Stuff happens–stuff we cannot control–but it does not mean that we don’t feel–inadequate, helpless, angry, forlorn, sad–but we must feel–because if we don’t feel something–we are dead inside. And anything dead, needs to be buried.

There are many gods people serve, but none of them are like our God.

Our God is not represented in the shaping of stones, He is the stone-shaper.

Our God is not represented in a string of beads or jewels; He is the creator of all that was ever created.

Our God is not contained or restricted by things or elements--He is everywhere at all times.

Our God knows everything about us and when the tragedies will occur–and He fills us with compassion, igniting desire to talk to Him, and to intercede on behalf of others.

Our God is compassionate, loving, merciful, and forgiving. And because He is, we who are filled with His Spirit–can be likewise.

In times like these, our true nature will come forth and we will either be more like God (we are not gods) or we will be insensitive to all going on around us.

His compassion towards His greatest creation–mankind–never ceases, never fails, and neither should ours.

His mercy is everlasting and though we may disagree with people about how they live and what they do–we should be merciful towards others when tragedies occur.

He forgives us–those who once were sinners–and some more sinful than others–but with God–sin is sin–no big ones or little ones, but we come to Him, repentant, He forgives all we’ve ever done and so should we–forgive others and ourselves.

He loves us so much He was willing to sacrifice Himself–for us–even though we rejected Him from the beginning as evidenced by our disobedience–He still loves us–unconditionally. And so should we–love others unconditionally, but unconditional love, does not mean we condone sin.

When we look at the attributes of God and how marvelous He is, we know we’ll never measure up to Him, but it should not keep us from trying to reach a place of perfection in which He will be well-pleased.

 

 

Twelve Days of Kindness-Day 6

She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness. Proverbs 31:26

Talking about the virtuous woman (one who conforms to moral and ethical principles, she functions with moral excellence) in this passage of proverbs, we see that kindness–governs everything she says.

In this 31st chapter of Proverbs, we get–from the 10th verse forward–the standards by which we can evaluate a virtuous woman (wife). The standard that God sets is indeed “raising the bar” for all women, but is it not the way we should think in all we do?

We should honor husbands and all others and the way we do that is to exercise wisdom (Godly wisdom–not man’s) in how we talk to everyone. When we constantly seek God for His wisdom, we will operate with His kindness–willing to comfort and correct.

Of course, for those who do not receive the kindness we offer, that is held against them, not us. We are not responsible for how people react or respond to us; we are responsible for how we respond to them. Sometimes, in the midst of an intense situation, wisdom prevails when we say nothing at all.

Helping people to accomplish their best–when we are capable of doing so–should be a goal for everyone. We are all gifted to do certain things and if we all coordinate the gifts we have for the good of all, how awesome would we be?

So, what goal can we help someone accomplish today? The need is great and we’ll just have to find out. It could be as simple as getting an item off a shelf for someone in a grocery store or moving a shopping cart out of their way. Or it could be as complex as creating a means to help someone get through a process by simplifying it.

Whatever it is that we can do, let’s do it to the glory of God! Have a wonderful day extending kindness to at least six people!

Twelve Days of Kindness-Day 5!

What is desired in a man is kindness,
And a poor man is better than a liar. Proverbs 19:22 NKJV

In all of the Bible, the word man does not necessarily mean a male, but is referencing mankind. And in order to accurately determine who is being referenced, we must study the word from the original context, based upon the language being used. In this verse, man is referencing Adam which was the name of both the male and the female, until the fall in the garden.

So what God desires in us is for us to be kind to one another and we see that being kind is not just reserved for those with wealth, but for those who have a compassionate heart and know truth and will not lie.

Once again, I had a great day yesterday.  Armed with my golden hearts and a determination to see others smiled, I handed them out until I had no more. Now, for today, I must print more. Everywhere we went (my husband and I) I passed out a heart and watched people smile when they read the message. What a great feeling! I think I’ll continue to do this long past the time of the twelve days because watching others smile, puts a smile on my face as well as fills my heart. I love the feeling.

When we walked into a restaurant, I asked the Lord to reveal to me who He wanted me to give a heart and even though I was tempted to hand them to some people, He steered me in other directions. I watched one man’s eyes fill with tears on a parking lot after he read the message. I have no idea what was going on in his life, but I prayed that God would address every issue in his life and bring him into a closer relationship with Him.

The message is not a bible tract; it is simply a note of encouragement.

Because of His Love!

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion, therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:22-26 NIV

The steadfast love of The Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, new every morning, great is thy faithfulness O Lord, Great is thy faithfulness.” The lyrics to this song–based on Jeremiah’s insight–are just as true today as they were when Jeremiah first thought them.

It is because of God’s love for us that we are not consumed by the fires: of envy, jealousy, hatred, disdain, rebelliousness, defiance, disrespect of others, and unruliness. It is because of His love that He places those whose hope is in Him in situations to warn, correct, guide and rebuke, others.

It is because of His love for us that we are still here, maintaining our hope in Him for peace in the land, joy in the hearts of all who proclaim His as Lord, and desire to live right before Him.

It is because of His love towards all who love Him that we are able to love the unlovable–those who refuse to heed instruction, are rebellious and defiant against authority, and are only concerned with what self wants. Yes, we love all, as we are commanded to love–doing what love does, but we do not have to like people who deliberately oppose themselves to God’s ways.

We are admonished to obey authority when we recognize the authority is of God. We are admonished to do all things, decently and in order. We are reminded that God is not the author of confusion, and that means that Satan is. Where there is no order or structure–there is chaos and rebellion.

I have determined to live my life pleasing God–obeying His Word and I know that He will honor my desire because He always speaks to me–keeping me from making a fool of myself, and I hear and obey. That’s Love!

I look forward to each and every day, waiting to see what The Lord has in store for me. With each challenge He allows to come my way, He has prepared me to respond in a manner that does not dishonor Him. That’s Love!

When I am wrong, He doesn’t hesitate to correct me and I receive the correction because I know that’s what Love does.

It is because of His great Love for me, that I have not allowed the issues of the world to overcome me and land me in the pits of destruction. He has given me strength and insight, courage and boldness to stand firm on His Word, rising above the drama that Satan attempts to use to ensnare and my response to Him–is obedience–I spread my wings and rise above the foolishness of this world and soar with the Eagles. That’s what Love does!

On Whom I Will!

“And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” (Exodus 33:19 NIV)

I love the fact that I am not God! And what’s even greater–you are not God! God says, He will cause of His goodness to pass in front of us, He will have mercy on whom He will, and compassion upon whom He will–not as we decide out of our own superiority complexes and arrogance. There, I said it–we don’t get to decide what God wants for others–He does!

What’s great about God’s mercy and compassion–shown to whoever He chooses–is His non-discriminatory practice for all who are obedient to Him. God doesn’t care what our ethnicity is, our skin color, our religious practices, our economic status, our educational level or to whom we’re related–unlike some of us. We tend to think that because we belong to a specific denomination or practice a specific form of religion that we’re the only ones who have a right to access heaven. Wrong!

The only way anyone gets to God into heaven is through acceptance of Jesus Christ and the work on the cross. That’s it! “No man comes to the father except through the son.” There are no other qualifiers to get into heaven than this.

So, when we–us, mere mortals–attempt to be play God and try to beat people over the head with our beliefs–we’re wasting our time. If we’re not saying what God says, we do err.

Going to church doesn’t get a person into heaven–but it’s okay to go.

Tithing doesn’t get a person into heaven–but it’s a good thing to do.

Being baptized doesn’t get a person into heaven–but it’s okay.

Speaking in tongues doesn’t get a person into heaven–but it’s gift from God to use as we will.

We don’t even have the right to “call people” into ministry, but some try and make messes of the person’s life and those they attempt to minister to.

God is God–and He can choose whom He will, to do whatever it is He wants them to do–and He doesn’t need our permission or approval. So, we with our limited knowledge of anything need to stop saying who God will use based on our limited understanding of who God is. He’s God–He knows more than any of us will ever know and He knows the outcome of what He wants before anything is ever started!

Okay, now aren’t you glad I’m not God? I am! If I was God, the world would be in a bigger mess than it is, because quite frankly, I’d rid the world of all who hate and create evil and chaos without any consideration of mercy and compassion. And if the truth was told, you would do the same thing. Thank goodness He’s God and we’re not. At least now, we all have a chance to get things right before Him.
