World’s Wisdom Vs God’s Wisdom

For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”  Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.(I Corinthians 1:19-21 NIV)

What is amazing to me is how anyone–with an ounce of sense–could possibly think they know more or are wiser than the All-Wise God!

Seriously? With our limited, finite ability to think or create anything of the magnitude of the universe, some think think they are wiser than God? And we know they are out there because of the chaos and confusion in the world.

People are confused about who they are. They are confused about right and wrong. They are confused when they think that God is applauding their killing others because of religious beliefs. They are confused about their biological parts and genders. They are confused about their roles in society. They are confused about raising children. And because the god of this world (Satan) has confused the minds of many, they look to–mere man–in the guise of judges who were appointed by “more men” to determine whether the wisdom of God is so.

O Foolish people! Who has bewitched you into thinking that man’s wisdom will ever be greater than God’s wisdom?

Look around you! God created the universe and all it contains, including mankind. What has man created (from nothing) that even comes close? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! What man has created with the elements and substances that God established are conveniences and those conveniences are destroying the atmosphere of the planet. Okay! So man has created the pathway of the demise of mankind. Now that’s certainly something to brag about!

What God created–He created out of love for love. What man invents-is invented out of greed and desire to control. It was love that brought God down from heaven clothed in flesh, living among us and dying to save us from ourselves because of sin.

And yet sin abounds in the guise of changing laws and mere men think that God will be pleased. Woe unto us who know the power of salvation through Jesus Christ who support the nonsense of the world! And even though–there are those who refute the Gospel message and “reject” the work on the cross, they are simply demonstrating their lack of wisdom and innate foolishness when they think they know more than God. The same people who refute God’s existence have never created anything (from nothing) other than noise and confusion–proof they are serving Satan–the evil one.

Perhaps, part of the problem is men don’t understand the distinction between “creating” from nothing and “inventing” from something. They invent lies to support fleshly desires. They invent paths to influence people into all sorts of ungodliness. They invent devices to perpetuate even more ungodliness in influencing minds.

Therefore, God has allowed mankind to revel in its foolishness and will watch as we foolishly attempt to change His intent for mankind. Only those who know and understand God’s Will for man will not quake at the devastation about to befall because of our Faith and Obedience to Him, to preach the Gospel of Christ whether in season or not, whether people want to hear it or not. Our God reigns!

He is Love!

“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” (I John 4:8 NKJV)

How do we know–He is Love?

Who else would have left their throne in heaven,

Wrapped themselves in flesh and came through a birth canal

When they didn’t have to do it?

Who else would endure the insults and persecutions

Of the religious sects, yet heal, and raise the dead?

Who else would care enough to accept the lunch of a child

And by blessing the little, fed the multitudes, because He cared?

Who else would love us so much that He spent precious last moments,

Before His arrest, praying for us who would choose to believe and follow Him?

Who else would endure the flaying of His skin, being nailed to a cross,

For our sins when He had committed none of them?

Who else would endure the tauntings of those who did not understand,

He hung on that cross for all who dared to believe and would rise again?

Who else would enter into hell and defeat Satan on his own turf

And rise with all power in His Hands and then transfer that power to us?

Who else would love us in spite of us and give us chance after chance

To get living for Him right?

Who else–would you–would I–endure it all because of Love?

No! God alone loves us enough to have done it all and would do it again,

Just because He is Love and can do nothing else, but Love!

Thank You, Lord for Your Love, Mercy, Grace, And Kindness

Shown towards me even when I didn’t deserve it.

Now, help me to have a mindset to always live to please You,

In all that I say and do,

So others will know about Your Great Love,

For all of mankind!

If we say–we are His Children, then we must Love

Like He loves–unconditionally–with no hate abiding within.

At The Cross!

“The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God” (I Corinthians 1:18 NLT).

“At the cross, at the cross,

Where I first saw the light,

And the burdens of my heart,

Rolled away,

It was there by faith,

I received my sight,

And now, I am happy all the day!”

I am not as familiar with the author of this song as I am the song, but I can imagine that it was inspired by this verse of scripture (and others, I’m sure)–everything begins at the cross.

Paul tells us–that the message of the cross–the sacrifice made–the humiliation endured–the end results in the resurrection–that began at the cross is foolishness to those who are walking the broad path–headed in the wrong direction. But for those who know–who have had a life-changing experience once their eyes were opened to the way of righteousness, understand the power of God to save–those who were walking the broad path, but are now on the narrow path–which few seem to find–headed towards living with The King-forevermore.

By faith–we who were not at the cross when Jesus was crucified–believe and receive–the love through the sacrifice He made to provide us another avenue–redeemed by the blood shed on the cross.

By faith–we allowed the message of the redemptive work on the cross enter into our hearts and open our eyes so we could see ourselves in all of our mess and know we needed to be cleansed of all unrighteousness.

And now-that our eyes are opened and we have accepted the truth of the work of the cross, we understand the power of God, through Holy Spirit–to lighten our burdens and we can be happy in the knowledge of God’s love–all day, every day!

It was at the cross–where all things became available to all who believe and accept the proclamation that Jesus is “The King…” and not just of the Jews as originally proclaimed but of all who believe!

Have you been to the cross? Make your way–by faith–understand the redemptive work completed on the cross, believe that He is our Risen Savior and receive all He has in store for you!  Hallelujah!

Be Strong!

But now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ declares the LORD. ‘Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the LORD, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the LORD Almighty” (Haggai 2:4 NIV).

“But now” in spite of all the negativity, in spite of all the violence, in spite of all the naysayers, in spite of all the works of the devil that are so evident in the environment, God is saying–“Be strong” and continue to do the works He has devised in our hearts, because He is with us and we have no need to fear.

Strong people–keep pushing to overcome obstacles.

Strong people–know how to think through any development before doing anything.

Strong people–know how to step back and re-think a situation before moving on, not out of fear, but wisdom motivating them.

Strong people–understand that a temporary setback does not mean it’s time to surrender.

Strong people–find reasons to keep going and never make excuses that lead to failure.

Strong people–know how to block out thoughts that would defeat them and replace them with thoughts of confidence and certainty of the victory that is theirs.

Strong people–draw other strong people and their unifying efforts–keeps them victorious in all things.

Strong people–never give up and will not accept defeat as a viable option.

Strong people–continue to hope and faith in God, even when the situation “seems” hopeless.

Strong people–remember that the joy of the Lord is their strength!

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might! Never fear what the enemy has planted in the minds of weak people because the enemy has already been defeated, and he just needs to be reminded of that--the blood shed on the cross through Jesus Christ established Satan’s defeat for all times–for those who are strong in their faith in what God is doing and has done and will do.  Be Strong!

With the mind of Christ–always hearing and obeying the Father–we have no need to fear the tactics of the enemy because perfect love (unconditional) casts out fear and we can move forward in this spiritual battle--knowing victory is ours! Be Strong!

What we accomplish in the spirit realm (acknowledging God’s control and praising Him for it), God will accomplish in the natural realm of the earth. Move self out of the way–depend on the Spirit of the Lord to direct us in all things and obey Him. We just have to keep fighting the good fight of faith and be strong in the Lord! Be Strong!

Father, in the name of Jesus, help us to remain strong–never giving into defeat, no matter what the enemy does! Help us to remember–that victory is ours, the enemy has already been defeated and in the end–we win!

Created To Do Good!

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared for us in advance to do” (Ephesians 2:10 NIV).

Before we were formed in the wombs of our mothers, God had a plan for us and He prepared that plan specifically for each of us–in advance–of our acceptance of the work on the cross, inviting Christ into our hearts and in making Jesus Lord of our lives.

We are created in the image of God who can only do good works and therefore, if we love Him, we can do the works He created us to do.  God cares and so should we–about the plight of the poor, the vulnerable, the sick, and peace in the nations.  Since we were created to do good works, what’s stopping us?  Are too busy or too blind to see?  Are we too hard-hearted to care? Are we too insensitive to feel?  Are we limited by our own sense of insecurities and shortcomings?  If we take our focus off of us and what we want–we can see the needs of others, and know that we can do all things well through the strength we are given and can operate in by the Holy Spirit.

Lord, help us to see the needs of others and to do something about them when we see them.  Keep our focus on doing what You would do–loving all and helping where and when we can.  Help us to be the beacon of light that draws others to You so we can eradicate darkness and dark works that keep people in bondage.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
