Which Way Do We Go?

Which Way Do We Go?

There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Luke 12:2-5 NIV

A lot has been going on in our society lately, especially in the political arena and in DC. With all of the uproar and rumors, eventually the truth will be known, about everything, not just one thing, about one person–but about everything and everyone involved in deceiving America. The cover is about to be pulled off the hidden stuff and there will be much grinding of teeth and angst. We already see it–fear–has caused total incoherence in the White House, but they’ll never admit it.

How do I know? I pay attention–to what is said, by whom it’s said and watching the conduct of all those who claim–they’re innocent.

Innocent people are not afraid of investigations–they welcome them–especially when the truth will set them free from any doubt of wrong doing.

Innocent people don’t threaten other people with illegal detainment and arrest and prosecution.

Innocent people have no problem answering questions from whoever wants to ask.

Innocent people welcome the opportunity for total transparency so they can move on with their lives without concern about being “exposed.”

Guilty people–on the other hand–are always decrying victimization by others and it’s always someone else’s fault.

Guilty people are read by their body language which indicates–something hidden and fear rises to the service making them stammer and stutter.

Guilty people don’t know when to shut up–always have to accuse others of what they’re guilty of doing.

We’ve heard a lot from a number of people this week–too much for me to try to regale in this blog post so I’ll just try to hit the highlights.

As if we didn’t already know–Donald J. Trump is the biggest liar on the planet and those who speak on his behalf–like Jim Jordan are liars after the heart of their master. How do we know–Stormy moved across the television screens of many; Comey stood up the bully and spoke his truth about all that occurred in the first five months in the WH as it pertained to him; Michael Cohen was exposed for being an attorney with a limited clientele that included the megaphone from Fox News–Sean Hannity–who attempted to further conflate the exposure by lying–claiming he had never hired or paid Cohen, but thought he had attorney/client privilege. It’s either one or the other, not both. And then–to top it all off (and the week is not even over), Trump tweeted that Comey lied about why he was fired, when it was trump himself who told Lester Holt on national television that he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation. If that wasn’t juicy enough–we learn that trump called another attorney, Jay Goldberg who told him if Cohen was faced with a rigid federal sentence, he would probably flip. Now, that call was made last week, which explains the myriad tweet rants this week.

Some days, I just have to cut off the news to maintain my sanity because every day, there’s more lying and complicity and now–most have of us have determined that there is evidence out there that proves beyond a shadow of doubt that trump is a treasonous traitor.

But there are other traitors in Washington–those who have been partakers in the RussianRubeJob–taking money from Russian oligarchs thinking they’ll never be found out. I guess that’s why 43 republicans, including Paul Ryan are resigning and that number may continue to rise as truth is revealed. Some have already left–like Jason Chaffetz in hopes of warding off being exposed, but Justice–though blind will find and make known the truth.

Proof enough that we need new leadership and direction in Washington–people with morals, values and integrity and a will to serve the people? I think so and am more determined than ever to be ready in 2020 to serve Everyday Americans because–we deserve better and we must go with truth!

When My Help Is Near!

On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your right hand upholds me. Psalm 63:6-8 NIV

When I lay down, no matter how tired, I remember how I made it through the day and thank God for being with me all day. When I wake up in the morning, no matter how often I have restless sleep, I thank God for waking me.

He is my help–always near–always watching over me–always speaking to my heart (when I’m listening, I obey), and always ready to propel me into the next challenge.

Who am I that God cares so much? I am His child, His very special daughter, created to praise Him and do great things in His name. I am the child who the enemy attempted to destroy so many times–before I reached a place of understanding who He is and what He means to me--afterwards to keep me silent and not promote the Gospel.

But here I am and no matter what happens, I will proclaim the name of The Lord to any and all who will hear as long as I can breathe on my own. And even when I’m gone, my books shall continue to speak a word of encouragement to the reader and lead them to The Word. Some days are tougher than others, but there has yet to be a sunrise or breaking day in which I didn’t give Him praise for loving me and keeping me.

When I depended upon others, I was disappointed; but when I depend on God, He always sends the right person into my life–one He has spoken to and is obedient. My help–is God speaking what He desires into existence and He always uses people to accomplish what He wants. It’s not that we should depend upon people, but our trust and dependence should be on God who will then speak to others on our behalf. What a wonderful God He is!

So when we get frustrated and upset about who is not coming to our assistance we need to realize that it is not people–especially those we think will help–but those to whom God speaks who will help. Our focus at all times should be on God, hearing and obeying–especially when He speaks to us to help someone else–because He will speak to us to help, just like He’ll speak to others to help us. Are we listening?

When we hear God speak to us to be a help to others, we should respond just as quickly as we would want others to respond to our needs. God is not a respecter of persons, so He’ll use us to help others as well as using others to help us. We are all His Children and we are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ so we all have access to His goodness through our obedience to Him. This is what happens when my Help is near–what about yours?

How We Do It!

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.”(Psalm 37:3-5, 7,9 NIV)

There are a number of people who have many questions about a Believer’s faith and why or how we do what we do. The answer for those who truly have a relationship with God is in The Word. This particular Psalm is one of my favorites and I recite and meditate on it to remind me how I know my Father determines when I please Him.

First of all, I must trust Him to do all He says He will do. God is not a man that He should lie, so I can place my total confidence in Him, even when I don’t understand everything He asks me to do. I just do it. Writing this blog every day is in part out of obedience to Him. I don’t know why He wants me to do it, I just do.

Making a conscious decision to allow God to direct our paths is only possible when we trust Him. He created the universe and set all things in motion so I know He has a plan to get me where He wants me to be–I just have to follow Him.

With everything I do, I think about whether or not God will be pleased. Not that I’m perfect, but when I do things that line up with the Word, I can’t go wrong. When He is pleased with what I do–by faith, I know He’ll give me the desires of my heart because His Word is true. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him.

As impatient as some of us are, we must learn to rest in Him, knowing He never tires or sleeps, but is always keeping watch over us and His plans for us. We must learn to expect the fulfilled promises in His timing, not ours. We simply praise and worship Him, while patiently waiting and when we least expect it--He’ll show up and show out! That’s how my Daddy does it! Hallelujah!

We acknowledge the evil in the land, know how to identify the spirit behind it, and know how not to be influenced by it, by submitting to God and watching the devil flee. We should never be concerned about the success of those who are duped by Satan, for their success will not last and we’ll be standing by watching their fall. We can pray for God’s mercy to embrace them and for them to repent, but what they get out of life–is completely up to them. We can either do things God’s Way or our way–influenced by an enemy who hates us and God.

I’ve learned that there is nothing like pleasing God and reaping the rewards for being obedient. That’s how we do it–by learning to trust and please Him!

Eyes On Me!

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you” (Psalm 32:8,9 NIV).

There are so many eyes–looking upon everything we do–judging, evaluating, assessing, criticizing, not knowing who we really are or who is guiding us. Or do they?

If the Lord is giving us instruction, and teaching us how to get to the destination He has planned for us, and counseling us as we journey in life, we have no need to be concerned about what others see–for they will only see our willing obedience to God, doing what must be done to obtain the goal. However, whatever we do, whatever others see–will determine whether we need to be “controlled or forced” to do something.

In spite of what many think, our obedience to God is out of a desire to please Him, not because He forces us to do anything. If we have a heart for God and we are hearing Him, we know that He only wants the best for us and we only want to please Him.

For those who do not understand God’s love or His plans, His Word will seem harsh and brash and controlling. But God–never forces or controls us to do anything–He gives us freewill to choose and to accept the consequences of our actions. When we choose not to understand or hear Him, we are left with those entities that will control–demonic spirits that lead us down the opposite paths of those God wants us to travel.

On the path to hell (and it is real), everything glitters and has much more appeal to our senses–sight, smell, feel, taste, hearing–it all looks good, smells good, feels good, tastes good and sounds good, but is it–all good? NO! The enemy deliberately makes everything that opposes God look better than anything God wants us to have because he–the devil–wants us to be miserable and to hate God.

Not convinced of the devil’s controlling influence? Take a good look around at our society--at those who are influenced by greed, drugs, and all other lusts of the flesh. The gambling looked good–easy money–until it’s all gone and now people have to steal to support their habit. The same is true with drugs and alcohol–controlling substances. On a personal level–hygiene takes a backseat to fulfilling the desires and cravings of those things which control the mind and behavior. Feelings and cravings in the lower extremities of bodies control–making sexual appeal for anyone more desirable and pleasurable than doing things God’s way. Even food controls–for those who lack discipline and self-control, overeating–which leads to health problems and early deaths. Oh, yes–the enemy controls, but God instructs, teaches, and counsels and leaves it up to us to hear and obey.

Whose eyes are upon you, today–the loving eyes of the Lord or the gleaming eyes of the devil? They know and we should, too–just by looking at what we do!
