Deranged Leadership!

Deranged Leadership!

A prophecy against Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz saw: Raise a banner on a bare hilltop, shout to them; beckon to them to enter the gates of the nobles.  I have commanded those I prepared for battle; I have summoned my warriors to carry out my wrath— those who rejoice in my triumph. Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together! The LORD Almighty is mustering an army for war. They come from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens— the LORD and the weapons of his wrath— to destroy the whole country. Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty. Because of this, all hands will go limp, every heart will melt with fear. Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame. See, the day of the LORD is coming —a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger— to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it. The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. I will make people scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir. Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger. Like a hunted gazelle, like sheep without a shepherd, they will all return to their own people, they will flee to their native land. Whoever is captured will be thrust through; all who are caught will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives violated. See, I will stir up against them the Medes, who do not care for silver and have no delight in gold. Their bows will strike down the young men; they will have no mercy on infants, nor will they look with compassion on children. Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the pride and glory of the Babylonians, will be overthrown by God like Sodom and Gomorrah. She will never be inhabited or lived in through all generations; there no nomads will pitch their tents, there no shepherds will rest their flocks. Isaiah 13:1-20 NIV (Read all)

Babylon has taken up residence in the White House in the United States of America–once known as “the land of the brave and the free.”

When the citizens of a nation are “barred” from speaking truth, to appease a tyrant, there is no freedom of speech. 45 has violated the constitution on so many levels that I’ve lost count, but I am thankful for those who have the expertise and the means to express the abuse of power we have seen. If not checked by the legislative branch of government or the judicial branch, there will be a greater civil insurrection within our borders. The uprising will be be more massive and probably more intensive than the revolt against the British by the colonists and the civil war.

We see the blueprint being laid out before us and we know from a study of history that whenever a deranged leader is allowed to have power and abuses the position–chaos ensues and people rebel. Most of us have read history books–unlike 45 who is only interested in books with his picture on the front as evidenced by reports of books being removed from federal agencies and replaced with those who “praise him.”

What most people don’t realize is that in less than ten days, the ship in the middle of the sea is taking on water and no one seems to have the presence of mind to start the process that would keep the ship afloat in the middle of the storm. There is only one predictable outcome when the leadership refuses to believe–water is rising and the ship is sinking. There are no lifeboats on board and everyone on the ship will sink unless someone with courage and integrity finally takes control of the situation and starts a chain-bailout–of the water determined to sink the ship.

On the surface, it would appear that lawmakers have been deluded and blinded by the “lightning speed” at which executive orders are being signed, but reality–not alterative facts–will soon shake them out of their reverie when Americans exercise their right to hold elected representatives accountable for their lack of action.

Our constitution does begin with, “We the people,” not “We the elected ones” and the people–not only the 261 million who did not vote for 45, but all those who are now awake at last and regret voting for him–will arise and do whatever is necessary, by any means necessary to get our country back on the right track.

The God I serve–the Creator of all that was ever creator–is not a God of hate, but of love and we who know Him, know that love will always triumph over hate. And now, I trust only in Him, not those who say they know Him and yet demonstrate hate of others simply because they are different. We are told in God’s Word to hate “sin” not people. As long as God gives me sight to see–both naturally and spiritually–and finger joints that work, I will speak out against fascism, imperialism and other type of authoritarian government that defeats the purpose of democratic process.

Greater is He who lives in me

Than he who is in the world.

Faith Makes The Difference!

Faith Makes The Difference!

In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!” “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:20-24 NIV

Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” 2 Chronicles 20:20 NIV

The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is only Remaliah’s son. If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.’ ” Isaiah 7:9 NIV

Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; Matthew 9:29 NIV

And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith. Matthew 13:58 NIV

“Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.” Luke 8:25 NIV

Faith and fear should not exist side by side,

Where there is faith, in God, only love abides.

Where there is fear, there is no love,

Where there is love–hope and faith reside.

Consider all of the negativity that exists in the atmosphere–ignited by fear and drenched in doubt by those whose faith no longer exist in God, but in man or woman, mere mortals who are imperfect and full of flaws. When our hope is in man, we leave God out of the equation and since our faith is misplaced, God has no obligation to respond to our pleas to Him.

When our faith exists solely in God, we have no need to fear whatever the enemy is doing and we can stand firm–facing down the enemy–assured that our God is faithful and whatever He has promised to do for us, He will do.

Whenever we allow the enemy to cause us to doubt God, we give the enemy power over us and that power–fear–drains our faith and when we lack faith, we become fearful of everything and everyone. We only see the dark side of every event because fear creates an illusion that light does not exist.

If fear is reigning in our lives, we must be willing to examine what is truly going on within us. Perfect love casts out fear–our love for God and others–boots fear out of our hearts and where love is–the light of hope shines brightly, guiding us towards God, not away from Him. In darkness, we cannot see where we’re headed and at every turn–with every decision we make–we doubt ourselves because we have been blinded by the darkness and we cannot move forward in darkness, without stumbling and falling.

Brothers and Sisters in The Lord–we have no need to fear when our faith is in God–and what we do aligns with His Word. We are not responsible for what others do, but if we are the examples–a living demonstration of The Word of God in action, others will know–our faith is in God and they, too will not fear the evil that exists in the atmosphere.

Remember–without faith–it is impossible to please God, but with faith in God, we can do all things through Him who strengthens us and keeps us focused on Him. Stand firm on your faith in Him, no matter what the evil reports have to say, for the report of the Lord is all we need and believe His report, found in His Word.  Faith in Him makes all the difference in every aspect of our lives.

Don’t Let Fear Mislead!

Don’t Let Fear Mislead!

The LORD has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The LORD, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm. On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” “I will remove from you all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals, which is a burden and reproach for you At that time I will deal with all who oppressed you. I will rescue the lame; I will gather the exiles. I will give them praise and honor in every land where they have suffered shame. At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the LORD. Zephaniah 3:15-20 NIV

Our trust and allegiance should be to The Lord only.

It is The Lord who makes a way out of no way.

It is The Lord who knows all about us and it is The Lord who determines the end from the beginning. In the midst of all that is happening around–we who know The Lord, have no need to fear the rumor-mongers, the hate-mongers or the fear-mongers for their job is to create fear and doubt to control those who refuse to hear God.

So why are Believers fearful? When we listen to the wrong sources–those sources who do nothing all day long except create doubt and fear–those who listen, eventually become fearful and all they know to do is to promote fear. This is a trick of the enemy and fear–when allowed to control a person’s thinking–always leads to devastating consequences.

If perfect love–unconditional love–casts fear aside, why are people allowing fear to creep into their hearts and minds and rule? Is their action a result of an absence of love? Or is it that they have believed the enemy and are afraid that their numbers will be diminished by those they hate?

We are in need of a Savior and for those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior–we’re good. We have no need for a man or a woman to save us. But for those who don’t know–salvation does not come through a mere human being and nothing they say will save us from the destruction ignited from people living in fear.

Fear causes people to do stupid things. They kill without thinking for they think everyone is against them. They malign others to deflect attention from themselves. They shriek instead of talking to people because the tone instills fear in others–making them believe the worst is about to befall us. Where fear reigns–Love is absent.

Don’t be mislead by fear–especially the fears that are manufactured by fear-mongers who only want to control your mind and soul. Fill your heart with God’s love to overflowing and allow that overflow to spread like a wildfire so others will know Love.

There’s no need to fear–anyone or anything–when the love of Christ resides in our hearts.

When The Enemy Raises his Head!

When The Enemy Raises his Head!

There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’ So Israel will live in safety; Jacob will dwell secure in a land of grain and new wine, where the heavens drop dew. Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights.” Deuteronomy 33:26-29 NIV

Have we forgotten that we who Believe have been adopted into the family by the work on the Cross? We are spiritual Israel and have access to the same promises made to the Children of Israel before God came down from heaven in the likeness of man. We have no need to fear what the enemy might do–we simply need to maintain our focus on Him who is more than enough–to keep us protected from anything the enemy might plan.

This is why it is important to know–who is really a Believer and who is simply cowering under the banner of Christianity--fearful of everything and promoting their fear to anyone who dares to listen. There is no need to fear with Jesus on our side–He is more than the world against us, so why do Christians become fear-mongers, allowing fear of “what might be” to keep their focus off the One who does not change His mind about what He desires for us?

If we truly Believe God’s Word–we have no need to fear anyone or any event. The enemy’s job is to use fear and doubt as a tactic or strategy to make sure people focus on their situation or those things going around them rather than looking up–for our help comes from The Lord!

The enemy has already been defeated with the bloodshed of Jesus Christ and He has given us power to keep him under our feet. So why don’t we? Why are we listening to men–who fear their own shadows, who promote hatred and bigotry faster than they can breathe? Why are we allowing the fickleness of man to deter us from knowing that God wins in the end and for those of us who trust Him–rather than man–we also win!

Some may trust in horses and chariots–the tools used in the battle, but I will trust in The Lord–for He is watching and He knows all about our troubles! The battle is not ours; it is The Lord’s and He cannot be defeated!

God Is Love!

God Is Love!

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. I John 4:8-14 NIV

Anyone who hates another human being–for any reason–cannot know God and certainly does not have God’s love abiding within their hearts.

We do not have to like people or condone what they do–but when we hate–we allow all the forces and influence of Satan to reign and destroy–his job–to steal–our joy and peace, kill any hope we have for ourselves and others and to destroy the existence of mankind.

And this is how we know who belongs to God–by the love and compassion we show to others.

Perfect love–unconditional love–casts aside fear so where there is fear–there is no love and anyone promoting fear–has no love in them.

Where there is love–hope keeps marching forward–seeking peace and harmony among all of mankind.

II Samuel 22:31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

I King 8:61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

II Corinthians 13:12 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

James 1:25 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

I John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

I John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

The word perfect is mentioned in the King James Version of the bible 99 times in 94 verses, but the context in each verse must be understood separately from all the rest. Perhaps, some day, but not today, I will attempt to expound upon each of the verses above, but I’ve used them today for a specific purpose.

God is perfect–flawless and totally sovereign. He does not need to seek the advice of anyone nor does he need anything from anyone. His existence is complete within Himself and nothing we say or do–one way or the other–shall ever change that.

The fact of the matter is–while He desires our praise and worship–He doesn’t need it to exist; however, we need Him in our lives and if we live according to His Word–nothing wavering, we benefit from His goodness and mercy and grace. God is Love and since He loves, we ought to be able to love one another–just as He does–unconditionally. This is how perfection works in us.

Think about how He loves us–in spite of our flaws and imperfections. No matter how many mistakes we make–He keeps loving us, giving us chance after chance after chance–especially when He knows we are living to please Him.

Living to please Him doesn’t make us perfect since we are still in a mortal body, but it does mean when we recognize our faults and what we’ve done wrong, we turn to Him in repentance, seeking His forgiveness and determine not to repeat the same mistakes.

The most important thing that I want to say today is that when we love as He loves–we don’t promote fear or hatred because perfect love casts fear aside. Where there is love, there is no room for fear or hatred. And we shall be known by others–by our love–one for the other.

So, let’s live according to His Word–that is perfect and tried–and love as He loves–not promoting fear and provoking hatred, but promoting love by our example–on a daily basis. This is how we achieve perfection as God sees it.

Don’t Worry About People!

Don’t Worry About People!

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The LORD is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. Psalm 118:6-9 NKJV

People–they can love on you one minute and hate you the next–depending upon whether you agree with them or disagree with them. There’s the rub–mere mortals are too fickle to trust or to have great confidence in. This is why we have to trust in The Lord, who knows all things and the hearts of all people.

People will say one thing when actually they mean another. This is evident in what we see in this election cycle. Yeah, I know–here I go again, but I think it is important to point out material differences in what is reported in the media and what is actuality. Take for instance the visit to Detroit by the Republican nominee. On the surface  or rather from the angle pictures were taken and publicized, it would appear that the church was full. It was not, another picture as seen below–was taken from the rear of the church. Here we see a completely different story. The true story–one the nominee will never tell. In fact, there were more people outside the church protesting his visit than inside.

trump at black church

It is this kind of “manipulation” with truth that causes confusion and misleads others. Now, think about it. How much else has been manipulated so that the media publicizes one thing, but just the opposite is true? And for the record, the visit that was supposed to be an attempt to reach out to “African Americans” was a smokescreen–more manipulation and none of us in the Black Community were fooled by it. In fact, many of us saw this manipulation as insulting. The fake humility, the attempt to “teach” Black Americans about Lincoln, and then–in a church where people read the bible–consistently–he tries to school them about a passage of scripture. Absolutely laughable!

Even with all the negativity–tossed by both parties–those of us who know The Lord are not fooled by it. And most of us, would rather the candidates speak to the issues, not the personal insults because the bottom line is–one is less honest than the other (though neither has been completely transparent).

Fear–as a tool to manipulate–is actually a tool of the devil. For The Word tells us that perfect love, casts out fear. Since we know God is Love–then fear has to represent the devil–who works on the minds of people, causing them doubt. And we know, that when doubt enters in the mind of people, fear resides in their hearts. Doubt and faith cannot reside in the same place at the same time and we are told that those who doubt what God can do is a double-minded person, unstable in all their ways. For those of us who have both natural eyes to see what’s in front of us and spiritual eyes to see through the smokescreens, we know–for our confidence is in The Lord, not man.

With the screaming and fear-mongering about Hillary and emails and Benghazi (all investigated and clearing her), not much has been said about the corrupt business deals that have caused people to lose their businesses and many people to lose money with misleading claims made to people about Trump University, the modeling agency, the casinos, and so much more. The bottom line for me is this–he may have money, but it is how his wealth was obtained–taking advantage of people– that leaves a really nasty taste in my mouth. And before anyone attempts to chastise me, all this information is public knowledge–I’m just restating it for the record. I really feel sorry for all those who have bought into his rhetoric that is nothing more than lies. I believe the facts–speak louder than the innuendo by those who are capable of critical thinking.

So we have a choice to make in November and it is less about someone trying to take away guns (that’s never been said, but it has been manipulated to cause fear in others) than it’s about–who’s qualified to get the job done. If a person who is a business man can now create “millions of jobs” why didn’t they do it as a private citizen? Of course, we know Trump exaggerates everything, so his word actually means nothing. Even when he keeps claiming he’s not a politician, he hasn’t realized that running for a public, elected position is the definition of a politician.

They both have some confidence building to do with all people. And while I support Hillary Clinton as the most qualified person to get the job done, my confidence remains in The Lord, not her and certainly not Trump.

We Will Not Fear Mere Mortals!

Let those who fear the LORD say: “His love endures forever.”When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD; he brought me into a spacious place. The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans.  It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. Psalm 118:4-9 NIV

Do we have a reverential fear (respect and honor) for the Lord? If we do, why do we concern ourselves–operating in fear–over what men might do?

In spite of all the dire predictions associated with–everything–our economy, climate change, global threats from terrorists, and our nightmarish presidential campaigns, we can–if we know The Lord–be at peace!

When the psalmist understood that nothing a mere mortal did compared with what The Lord will do, he made a decision and proclaimed, “The Lord is with me and He is my helper!”

Do we dare proclaim the same? We do when we know it’s true. The Lord is with us and He is our helper. The Lord, our God, who created all that was ever created is the same and He is our provider. The Lord will not abandon us nor leave us without a way of escape from evil. The Lord will take care of those who obey Him!

I don’t know about you, but right now, I’m proclaiming I have no reason to fear what foolish mortals may do. I am surrounded by angels assigned to me and nothing the enemy has planned will come to light. No weapon formed against me shall prosper and includes any attempts by the enemy to influence negative thinking about any circumstance that arises in my life. I am proclaiming that with The Lord going before me (daily) He is more than enough to protect me from anyone or anything.

What about you? Is your faith sustained in the One who can do all things well and cannot fail?

If our faith–relentless and steadfast–is in Jesus–we have no need to fear mere mortals who are like us--imperfect in all their ways and put on their pants–one leg at a time.

Jesus is the way, the light and the truth and no mere mortal can ever compare to Him!

How To Live Without Fear!

But all who listen to me will live in peace,
untroubled by fear of harm.” Proverbs 1:33 NIV

Remember when, as children, we didn’t necessarily listen to all the lectures of our parents? We heard, but didn’t hear and usually sat waiting, wanting them to hurry up and finish. Now, why did we have to hear the lecture?

When at first we don’t obey, trouble will get in our way, then those voices loud and clear, will repeat what they have to say.

Has anything changed? When we got into trouble as kids, we dreaded what was coming next and if we heard our parents call us by our full names, we knew we were in trouble. Have we heard God calling us by our names–trying to get our attention? From the looks of the condition of this world, we should have.

I would have to conclude that the world’s condition is what it is because those of us who know to do right, haven’t been listening for His voice–to guide us. This is why many people are living in fear from one moment to the next. We’re fearful of the terrorists; we’re fearful of our neighbors; we’re fearful for our freedom as Americans; we’re fearful for our safety in the streets, but no one seems to reverence God’s Word–careful to do as He says–fearful of the final consequences.

The Word reminds us that, “perfect love casts out fear.” So where there is fear, love does not reign. The perfect love–love of God and keeping His commandments and love of our neighbors–never conspiring to do harm–is unconditional regardless of race, gender or faith.

We can learn to live without fear when we listen and obey God’s Word. But as long as we choose not to heed His Word, we will continue to live in fear–never knowing when the final nail is tapped–signaling the end of our lives as we know it.

We’ve lived in fear long enough. It’s time to take back our peace and not be fearful of turning the next corner–expecting harm to come upon us. Let’s love–being wise until the time we know has come when all will love. The Word also tells us to be wise as serpents, but gentle as doves. Loving others doesn’t mean we have to be foolish–expecting others to behave as we do. After all, many people have too much to unlearn–before they can really say they love. They have to unlearn hate and distrust, dishonesty and conspiracy, bigotry and injustice--but when they do–we can all live in peace, no longer fearful of what may happen next.

Ready to get our love fest started? We must listen to the voice of Holy Spirit and allow Him to guide our every move. He will direct our steps as we move out to show love on an unsuspecting society–navigating our journey without fear, ready to live in peace. God is calling us by our full names and it’s time we responded to Him!

Shadow Security!

Shadow Security!

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. Psalm 91:1,2; 9,10 NIV

When the shadows fall over the land, we can either feel security or fear. There are so many stories about our reactions to shadows that one blog post would not do it justice. There are times when shadows have caused people frightening experiences when they did not realize that tree branches and plastic bags caught on branches can give the allusion of something else that is far more sinister than what it is.

And then there are times when dangerous acts have been defeated because of the shadows alerting others of the dangers contrived by those who are evil.

But there is security in the knowledge that those of us who believe that the shadow of the Almighty is with us, daily. We can trust in the security of that shadow knowing that nothing by any means shall harm us when we dwell in His presence.

I started to title this post, shadow boxing–because that is what many of us do when we’re trying to overcome mindsets that keep us from enjoying the benefit of belonging to God. We feel we must always fight back–boxing our imaginary opponent that only exists in our heads–and yet we never win. Though shadow boxing has its benefits for those who are training to be boxers, there is no win since we are actually boxing our own shadow. And every time we move–in the right conditions for shadows to exist–the shadow moves and looms larger than we are.

So, too does God’s shadow–loom so much larger than we are and therefore we can trust Him to protect us. If we truly understood what dwelling in the shadow of His presence meant, we would indeed–fear no evil that conspires against us. We would boldly travel the paths He sets before us and not concern ourselves with the mediocrity that attempts to distract us. His shadow–on every side–because He is Light and where there is Light, His shadow is present.

Remember–when Peter passed by some and those who were enveloped in his shadow were healed. David said though the shadow of death was always present, he would not fear any evil coming upon him.

We do not have to fear shadows–unless we are in the wrong place for all the wrong reasons. Living in God’s shadow–we are fully protected and have no need to fear.
