Letter To American Congress

Dear lawmakers:

As a citizen in this already great country, I find it incumbent upon me to remind you of your obligations and responsibilities for all Americans since you chose to run for the office you currently have.

Most people think politics is a dirty business and want no part of it. I’m sure in the beginning of your political career you probably thought the same thing, but you were determined to make a real difference in what happens in this country and to make lives better for all. Unfortunately, you like so many others before you, have forgotten about the importance of people and have instead become inured to the plight of the poor and working class in order to keep your position by caving to those with money. “The lust of money (will do anything to get it) is the root of all evil.” And it appears that particular passage of scripture (from most bibles) is true. Greed and the need to satiate a desire for power has been a disruptive factor for many in Congress. I hope this does not describe you, but if it does, it’s time to make a change.

Most Americans realize by now that had it not been for the interference by Russia in 2016 election that many of those in Congress and certainly the person in the White House would not be there. We know you knew about the cheating and it’s time you’re held accountable. Since truth and integrity were not part of the plan to get what you wanted from the beginning, we don’t really expect truth and integrity to find its way back into your lives, but we can hope. While we’re waiting, we’re demanding that you exercise the Constitutional right of oversight of the White House before there won’t be any of us left.

Unless you are totally blind and deaf and ignorant, lacking the mental capacity to see that greed and corruption are what brought us to this place, you know it’s time to remove Donald J. Trump from the Oval Office and Mike Pence who is complicit in the knowledge that greed was the motivator and criminality the end results. We do not need criminals or those who are criminal-minded to be in positions of authority in America. And we certainly don’t need a dictator-wanna-be demanding loyalty from others, seeking praise and attention to appease his insecurities.

The continued existence of our democracy is up to you. Everything that happens–all the bloodshed and deaths–are on your hands. You are responsible. If you no longer have a conscience, you will still stand before God and be judged for all you’ve done–good and bad. If you plan to hear, “well done,” I suggest you do well and govern for the sake of all the people and not just for the Koch Brothers, the Mercers and Murdochs of this world and certainly not for the Russians or the money they give to keep their plan going–to destroy democracy. If you have family, you should care about how the history books will note this passage of your life.

Thank you for being a true, patriotic American in responding the needs of the people and just remember, compromise is not a bad word and neither is bipartisanship if we want to keep America moving forward and not sliding backwards.

I keep hearing about how “good” people are who have failed to uphold their oaths of office in Congress and in White House.

If these are so good, show us the good they have done that benefits all people:

Any of the Republicans who claim to be Christians who have promoted bigotry and divisiveness during the years President Obama was in office and yet now, they want everyone to lick trump’s boots–show us the good they have done.

Most–if not all–are complicit in the Russian meddling with the 2016 Election and all will be exposed soon. Their hands are dirty with money laundering and promising favors and playing footsy with Putin. These so-called upright Christians who do more to harm the poor and the needy than they do to fend the rights of the poor and the needy.

Most–if not all–are only in politics for what they get out of it–access to world leaders and big business so they can make money by caving to lobbyists. And when they make money, they forget how to keep their oaths.

Most–if not all–have failed the United States miserably when they allowed trump to be their nominee. They knew he’d never “pivot” because he has no desire to pivot. Any time a person thinks they are better and far more superior to others–they see no need to change and they don’t. He showed us the first time around that he was a misogynist, bigot, and racist. He showed us he didn’t care about poor folks or black folks or any people of color by how he treated them.

Remember him having the homeless veteran arrested because having him on the corner brought down the value of his “tower?”

Remember how he chose to keep black people from renting any of his apartments?

Remember all the hateful things he said about Mexicans and Muslims?

Remember all the hateful lies he promoted about Hillary Clinton?

Remember how he used his foundation as a personal ATM for purchasing paintings, sculptures, and other paraphernalia that had nothing to do with the purpose of his foundation?

Remember him saying that he’s rich because he never uses his own money to do things?

Remember how he bragged at one point in his life about his only war was about fighting STDs?

Remember his hateful remarks to a war hero, after he obtained deferments for questionable reasons?

Remember how he is the only person who has proclaimed his wealth and fame?

Remember all those things he did during the campaign and now after being installed in the WH (the dump he said)?

If he is such a good person and those who keep making excuses for him are such good people, why is there such turmoil in the land? Why are hate groups thanking him for not calling them out? Why is Russia probe so unnerving to him?

If he is such a gifted communicator–why is that every time he speaks–everyone has to rush to explain what he “meant” because he didn’t say what he meant.

Why is it that after being in office for eight months, he is still only talking to his base which includes the hate groups and ignores the rest of America?

Why is he more concerned with spending money on an investigation that has proven no guilt on the part of Hillary about her emails?

Why is he attempting to help defraud every state’s voting practices with his “Voter Fraud Commission” that is more about suppressing votes that discovering any election fraud?

Why is it that he’s campaigning for 2020 and using the donated funds to pay for his son’s attorney?

Why is it that he thinks we are all stupid and he’s the only intelligent being on the planet?

Why is it that every surrogate who speaks on his behalf lies and lies knowingly, and yet they claim to be Christians? Is it that they have not read with understanding the Bible?

Why is it that he wants to cut funding for services for the poor and yet taxpayers are covering the costs of his children’s security, his, and all of his trips which are bringing in the bucks for his businesses?

Why is that the same lawmakers who claim to be “conservative” won’t challenge trump’s trips and not pay for them or for his children’s business trips?

Why? Why? Why? The more I write, the more questions surface and I know I’ll never get the truth out of the “good people” in Congress or the WH for truth is not known to them. Ask Kellyanne Conway who invented alternative facts for this administration’s alternative universe and wants reporters to be “forced to say something favorable” about trump. Really? When there is very little if anything favorable to say about him, why would she want reporters to lie? Oh–she wants them to be like her.

So, if there’s “any good” in any of the aforementioned and some not named specifically, but are GOP–let all of us know about the good they do because we certainly don’t see it manifest itself in their legislating laws.

They have allowed their greed and need for power and status to overrule common dignity and love for all and until they recognize it, confess and repent of it, we shall remain the laughingstock of the world and no one will consider us a leader of anything but foolishness.

With the next election, we can change that–and make sure that honor and integrity once again dwell in the White House and wisdom reigns for the benefit of all Everyday Americans. I won’t need anyone spinning lies for me because Truth and I have a pretty good relationship and as a clear communicator–I know how to say what I mean and mean what I say–without additional explanation from others.

Disastrous Times!

“Your own conduct and actions have brought this on you. This is your punishment. How bitter it is! How it pierces to the heart!” Oh, my anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain. Oh, the agony of my heart! My heart pounds within me, I cannot keep silent. For I have heard the sound of the trumpet; I have heard the battle cry. Disaster follows disaster; the whole land lies in ruins. In an instant my tents are destroyed, my shelter in a moment. How long must I see the battle standard and hear the sound of the trumpet? “My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.”I looked at the earth, and it was formless and empty; and at the heavens, and their light was gone. I looked at the mountains, and they were quaking; all the hills were swaying. I looked, and there were no people; every bird in the sky had flown away. I looked, and the fruitful land was a desert; all its towns lay in ruins before the LORD, before his fierce anger. There is indeed, nothing new under the sun. Whenever men (mere mortals) have made decisions without Godly counsel, they make a mess of things and many suffer the consequences of disastrous, corrupt, and greedy thinking.

WHITE HOUSE CORRUPTION

Only a blind person would not be able to see the corruption oozing from every corner of the White House–every wing–every nook and cranny–where evil is plotted and promoted and overlooked by those who have the power to stop the madness. The corruption flows–meandering like an unfettered ivy, climbing–to Capitol Hill where leaders in both the House and Senate are covering their butts while covering-up and obstructing truth that will reveal the clown in the White House needs to be removed.

Why are they covering for the clown? They knew about the Russian attempt to influence the election and chose to cooperate in order to push their own agenda. Sad really that elected leaders care more about an agenda than in safeguarding our democracy which is their duty. They have forsaken and are now not upholding their oath of office. As such–they should resign and if they won’t–the people who elected them should make every effort to force them out of office–never to be seen again.

Not discharging their duties in determining how the House Intel Committee functions–demanding Nunes step aside since he cannot be impartial as demonstrated by his briefing the clown about the investigation and with McConnell’s refusal to order an independent commission to handle the investigation demonstrates their lack of ability to lead. Both Ryan and McConnell are afraid their roles will be revealed in the entire mockery of this election.  If personal benefit is the only reason a person runs for a public office–governing for all Americans–then people should re-think their goals and step aside for those who truly love America to take the reins.

They (Ryan and McConnell) are the evil fueling the disaster in the White House. They have allowed the clown to believe that they can cover his wrongdoings, but they will all be exposed–one way or another–and they would be better off resigning–than risking the public humiliation of being involved with a traitor for they, too will wear the label--enemies of America.

What can the average America do? What we can do is to make our voices heard by persisting with phone calls to Congressional leaders, protesting the disastrous decisions that will only create “the barren land and death of many” with all regulations repealed.  On November 6, 2018, we can go to the polls during mid term elections and vote–repealing and replacing every person in the House who has demonstrated a lack of concern for all Americans. Encourage the media (MSM) to dig deep and uncover every hidden thing so all the world will know truth since we won’t get truth from the White House--where pathological liars are groomed by the minute.

If we do nothing, nothing will change and we will see the prophecy uttered by Jeremiah thousands of years ago, come true thousands of years later. The Lord has spoken–through His prophets and it has been written in His Word–what are we going to do?

 

His Love and Mercy Endures!

We do give thanks to the God of Heaven, for we know that no matter what men do; He will have the last word, even if He has to remove them from the face of the earth, leaving all they have accumulated for others to enjoy.

Nothing men or women do in secret remains hidden for long and God in His infinite Wisdom, will bring to the light all that was done in darkness.

When exposure comes, many will cringe as the world watches how greed and corruption, lies and ego have turned this country into a joke, teetering on the edge of civil insurrection, with its “so called leader” the butt of every joke.

Oh how the dark deeds will hate the spotlight that shines upon every evil plot and plan so that none escape the consequential course–the Hamanesque effect!

It is good to consider the words we utter against others for if we do not give great thought to what we say, our words will come back to haunt us.

If we do not respect others in their position of leadership, it is an exercise of futility to expect others to respect us in the same position. Karma bites!

But I am praying for every person who knows and understands how God operates for the good of all His children and I stand with all who support justice and liberty for all. At the same time, I stand firmly against any and all who would ignore the needs of the poor and the vulnerable; those who malign and belittle women; those who lie and bribe to move their agendas forward; those who think they are gods.

For there is but One God–the creator of all things and without Him, nothing was created. That same God–who has determined how we are to live on the earth with one another–has not changed who He is or His intent for mankind.

The sooner mere mortals recognize that our trust and faith should only be in God, not man or woman, the sooner we’ll be able to live in peace in harmony; allowing greed and corruption to come to an end, knowing how to treat all–equally.

What Fruit Do We See?

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.  “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. The Word of The Lord–Jesus speaking!

The world tells us that, “what goes around, comes around.” Whenever I think about this, I’m reminded of a boomerang that returns to the one who throws it.

When we fling insults and denigrate others simply out of spite, what else can we expect from others?

The press secretary to #45 tells us, when the press indicates (through comparative photos) his crowd size was smaller than Obama’s, it was demoralizing. And the press secretary goes on to tell a fabulous lie about #45’s inaugural crowd being the “largest ever.” Frustrated by having to tell the lie (I’m sure encouraged by #45), he turned red and stuttered, out the lie. “It was the largest crowd. Period.”

Now, where have we heard that before? When #45 gathered the press together with a supposed “big announcement” which was actually promotion of his new hotel, he stammered out, “President Obama was born in the United States. Period.”And then he walked away without responding to any questions. Press secretary did the same thing after his first press conference–walked away without answering any questions. Why? For at least six years, #45 told everyone he could find, President Obama was not born in the United States–attempting to de-legitimize his presidency, and now–he’s overly concerned about people seeing him as the illegitimate president because he lost the popular vote by almost three million votes. Doesn’t sound like a legitimate win to me–especially with the Russian hacking and false propaganda promoted about Hillary.

Do we see a pattern here?

Then, during another interview–the counselor to #45 told Chuck Todd, they had not lied about the crowd size, they merely presented, “alternative facts.” They lied. But then again, their boss lies–and lies, and lies and lies. But his enablers brush off the lies by saying, “you just didn’t understand what he was saying.” Are we all having a problem misunderstanding or is he incapable of making himself understood?

His lack of understanding–about the important things–is obvious. He signs executive orders for the drama and then when attempting to read some part of what he signed, stumbles over the words. So, it was not exactly a revelation when it was exposed that Bannon was the architect in drafting the executive orders. Most of us knew #45 didn’t draft them because the vocabulary used was beyond his ability to comprehend.

Bannon–late last week told the press,”You need to shut up.” There was more, but this will have to suffice to make the point. Who is he to tell the press to shut up? Good question! As it turns out, he is the power behind #45, the one making all the decisions and appointing himself to the National Security Council–under the guise that #45 made the decision. The wolves are circling and getting ready for the kill.

I have said–repeatedly–that #45 has demonstrated a cognitive disability and now–when revelations are made every day, my thoughts have been confirmed. But the enablers–try to keep up the ruse by blaming everyone else for the ineptness we see in the WH.

Now, what was that #45 often said about President Obama? “He’s the worst president ever!” Really? It would appear–than in just 10 days, the worst president ever has been immortalized for all the world to see and we know by the fruit he’s produced–it’s all bad.

• Signing executive order to repeal the ACA without a replacement plan with no thought about all it affects. Many people are expressing regrets for voting for him because they didn’t realize that, “Obamacare” which they despised because of the name, was actually–the Affordable Care Act–which they now realize–they need.
• Signing the executive order to ban Muslims and then saying, it wasn’t a “Muslim ban.” However, Giuliani said in a televised interview, that #45 had called him and asked him how he could, “legally ban Muslims.” But then, Giuliani–true to form–lied and said he didn’t really mean it.
• He has signed so many executive orders–“more than President Obama” in such a short span of time, that he thinks that makes him a great president and his enablers are praising him for it–feeding his ego, fearful of telling him the truth. He cannot handle truth!

When lying and guilt weigh a person down, their demeanor changes and the evil residing inside, shows up on the outside and we can see it is taking its toll on both the counselor and press secretary. Even #45 is looking drained.

What fruit do we see? The growth from seeds of evil and greed for power to the extent that many are wondering, who is the president? Is it Bannon, Putin or #45?

With each day that passes, without someone checking what’s going on in the WH, we all should be watchful for the civil insurrection that is bound to occur with all of the lack of knowledge and wisdom, in making decisions in the WH.

God knows–He sees and hears everything–and He will expose all that is done in darkness by bringing it into the marvelous light–so all will know truth!

Where Are We?

The invader will do as he pleases; no one will be able to stand against him. He will establish himself in the Beautiful Land and will have the power to destroy it. He will determine to come with the might of his entire kingdom and will make an alliance with the king of the South. And he will give him a daughter in marriage in order to overthrow the kingdom, but his plans will not succeed or help him. Then he will turn his attention to the coastlands and will take many of them, but a commander will put an end to his insolence and will turn his insolence back on him. After this, he will turn back toward the fortresses of his own country but will stumble and fall, to be seen no more. “His successor will send out a tax collector to maintain the royal splendor. In a few years, however, he will be destroyed, yet not in anger or in battle. “He will be succeeded by a contemptible person who has not been given the honor of royalty. He will invade the kingdom when its people feel secure, and he will seize it through intrigue. Then an overwhelming army will be swept away before him; both it and a prince of the covenant will be destroyed. The Word of The Lord, Our God!

30 Days of Prayer and Praise–13!

When the Ziphites had gone to Saul and said, “Is not David hiding among us?” Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might. Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. Arrogant foes are attacking me; ruthless people are trying to kill me— people without regard for God. Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them. I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, LORD, for it is good. You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes. Psalm 54 NIV

Day Thirteen

You, O Lord, are the lifter of our heads, the bright and morning star.

Listen to our hearts and know our thoughts about every situation and save us from the enemy of arrogance and narcissism, from those who are mentally unstable in positions of authority, and are driven by greed and corruption.

Give us direction and continual hope to stay focused on You and Your in the midst of all the mindlessness that surrounds and threatens the peace of nations.

For every heart that desires to hear You, speak to them and pour out wisdom from on high, so those in authority will govern righteously, not out of pettiness and vengefulness.

Lord, we know that nothing happens in our lives that You did not already know about and we know that in the end, we will be victorious with You going ahead of us in battle.

Strengthen our resolve to stay bold and courageous, fighting injustice on all fronts, standing up and speaking up for the poor and the needy who feel they have no voice. For every person who reveals their hatred and bigotry and racism, help us to stand firm as a beacon of hope and light, dispelling  the darkness that abides in their hearts.

Even when it seems like all is lost–remind us of Your love and mercy and grace–that accompany us everywhere we go.

Lord, we thank You for covering us with Your precious blood–keeping all the evil at bay the enemy has plotted against us and for every dart levied our way, return it to those who throw them with more power than they had.

You alone continue to be worthy of all the praise and glory. You alone are the strength we need when we feel weak. You alone, O God, are savior to all who will receive You as such and You are alone–know the end from the beginning of all we see or can predict.

Thank You for hearing and answering our prayers and responding to needs of all who love You. In Jesus’ name we pray and thank You, Amen!

Vengefulness and Greed!

But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.” He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.“Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.”Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews found out that Jesus was there and came, not only because of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well, for on account of him many of the Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in him. John 12:4-11 NIV

Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over. When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve. When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.” So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. The chief priests picked up the coins and said, “It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.” Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price set on him by the people of Israel, and they used them to buy the potter’s field, as the Lord commanded me.” Matthew 27:3-6, 9, 11 NIV

Throughout the history of mankind, some have given into the urges that propel them because of jealousy, vengefulness and greed. This is the account of Judas Iscariot with whom most of us are familiar–his role in betraying Jesus and his demise, already prophesied before Jesus came.

In American History, we have our own Judas--Benedict Arnold–who betrayed America in 1780 by attempting to turn over West Point to the British for 25,000 pounds. Why? He was upset that Congress would not agree to pay him what he thought he was worth. He was not successful, and escaped to England, where though he served for the British, he was never counted a hero. He died from a disease caused by anxiety in 1801. His conscience probably ate him alive.

In the 21st Century, we have a president-elect who openly requested the Russians to hack into American email systems–though he declared it a joke, many are wondering. Considering his vengeful character–and the fact that he hated President Obama’s joking about him in 2011, was he joking? It would appear that his entire plan to become president is a joke since he’s too busy running around thanking people (and bribing them) for an election win that is suspect–for many.

On November 9, 2016–the first two people to congratulate him on his win were David Dukes (KKK) and Putin. The tweet from Dukes reminded him that the south helped him to win (with probable voter suppression). And now–he (PE), thinks the United States and Russia can get along, “famously.” Speculation has been made before about Russia’s involvement with the election results and Julian Assange has admitted he released hacked emails–intentionally on a timeline– to discredit Hillary.

And now, on December 10, 2016–the Intelligence Community is confirming Russia’s involvement and interference with America’s election. With all of the false news and propaganda (also tactics used by Benedict), gullible people believed the lies and promoted them–creating a hatred for Hillary Clinton she did not deserve. And before anyone asks–yes, I am biased in this situation because I hate lies and liars and abhor those who perpetuate destructive propaganda. It’s my nature to promote truth–whether people want to hear or not.

Reminder–PE said, when questioned about a donation to a Florida official, that he gives money to officials to get what he wants. So, is there any reason for us to refute the possibility that he bribed officials during this election to get what he wants? Syllogistically speaking, this is how it would work.

If a man says he will pay off public officials to get what he wants,

                 And said man wants to be president and eventually, wins an election,

                 Then said man, paid off public officials to get what he wanted.

While there will be those who are loyal to a fault to this PE–some may actually begin to stop and think–reflecting upon events of the past few months and put two and two together for themselves and realize–we have a traitor headed for the White House. And when they realize the role of the “chief priests and elders” (modern day church leaders), they will realize how some were willing to sell their souls in order to promote their agenda. I pray their collective consciences will eat them alive and they will repent before their congregations–openly–admitting the falsehoods promoting.

I’m also praying that our Electoral College is paying attention to all the unfolding events and will adjust their plans for voting–so that the true winner–who had no help from an interfering foreign actor will be given the votes she rightfully deserves. As for the PE, I have no idea if he even has a conscience, but I pray it won’t lead him to hanging himself, but he will be alive and well–reminded forever of his role in history in mocking our democratic process with a  heart of vengeance and greed propelling him.

Lord, we need Your help and guidance right now before the enemy can cause any further damage to our nation.

Self-Appointed Leaders!

Now Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith, put himself forward and said, “I will be king.” So he got chariots and horses ready, with fifty men to run ahead of him. (His father had never rebuked him by asking, “Why do you behave as you do?” He was also very handsome and was born next after Absalom.) Adonijah conferred with Joab son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest, and they gave him their support. But Zadok the priest, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei and Rei and David’s special guard did not join Adonijah. Adonijah then sacrificed sheep, cattle and fattened calves at the Stone of Zoheleth near En Rogel. He invited all his brothers, the king’s sons, and all the royal officials of Judah, but he did not invite Nathan the prophet or Benaiah or the special guard or his brother Solomon. Then Nathan asked Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother, “Have you not heard that Adonijah, the son of Haggith, has become king, and our lord David knows nothing about it? I Kings 1:5-11 NIV

Is this something my lord the king has done without letting his servants know who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?” Then King David said, “Call in Bathsheba.” So she came into the king’s presence and stood before him.The king then took an oath: “As surely as the LORD lives, who has delivered me out of every trouble, I will surely carry out this very day what I swore to you by the LORD, the God of Israel: Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he will sit on my throne in my place.”Then Bathsheba bowed down with her face to the ground, prostrating herself before the king, and said, “May my lord King David live forever!” King David said, “Call in Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet and Benaiah son of Jehoiada.” When they came before the king, he said to them: “Take your lord’s servants with you and have Solomon my son mount my own mule and take him down to Gihon. There have Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king over Israel. Blow the trumpet and shout, ‘Long live King Solomon!’ Then you are to go up with him, and he is to come and sit on my throne and reign in my place. I have appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah.” I Kings 1:27-35 NIV

Looking upon where we are today, I can hear the same question being asked of God by those who know Him and are in strong relationship with Him, “Is this Your doing God?” And while I cannot speak for anyone else, in my spirit I hear God’s response, “No!”

But we have to understand what happens when people use all manner of deception and manipulation to accomplish what they want and the best way to understand how God is consistent in what He does is to look at what happened with Adonijah! And for that, we’d have to keep reading, but I’ll sum it up. Adonijah died at the hands of King Solomon after making an insulting request–through Solomon’s mother.

Instead of acting like a man, Adonijah acted like a child, making the request of Solomon’s mother instead of going to Solomon directly. The request–give me the virgin that had been assigned to King David (his father)–covetousness and desire to make a mockery of David’s last days by taking what was his.

Perhaps, the greatest lesson we can learn from the history recorded in the Old Testament is that when we rebel against God–thinking we know more than He does–in order to make our own name great–we are doomed to suffer the consequences.  God is not mocked. He sees all that is done by those who do not reverence Him, but make a mockery of all He has planned. In the end, we reap the consequences of our actions when we fail to heed the warnings.

The only great name anyone should reverence is Jesus and when we denounce Him and disavow all He is by our actions, we place ourselves in a position to be judged and all the world shall hear the noise when the end has come upon those who appoint themselves as leaders–and those who supported the nonsense.

Look at what some Americans have done–in the name of patriotism, but in actuality because of hatred and bigotry! Elected a president with no qualifications and certainly no approval from God. And then he mocks the entire democracy, by appointing the most despicable people in positions of authority and more who are even less qualified than he is to head vital departments of our nation. The noise in the streets–the cry of outrage for people know only disaster awaits. And the noise we hear and have heard is nothing to compared to the noise we will hear–from those who supported the unqualified person to lead to this nation.

Not my will, but Yours–to do as You direct in all things–to sound the alarm when You speak it to me and let others know–You are yet watching over all that occurs in the earth and You have the final Word.

When The Greedy Have Oversight!

As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.” At the same time he was hoping that Paul would offer him a bribe, so he sent for him frequently and talked with him. When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, but because Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews, he left Paul in prison. Acts 24:25-27 NIV

Since we know human nature does not change, we can understand that any time someone starts talking about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come--the conversation instills fear in the unrighteous and they change the conversation so they won’t feel condemned.

When faced with situations that Paul faced, we who know God and His intent for mankind, must continue to say what God says–no matter what the intent of those who have authority over us–in the natural. For no mere mortal can ever have authority over God or those who obey Him.

But in this passage we see Felix as a pretender–someone who pretended to want to know more about Paul was teaching, but in essence was really hoping that his imprisonment would keep him quiet (as far as the Jews were concerned) and would eventually end up with Felix lining his pockets in order for Paul to know freedom.

There are people who are imprisoned–in both buildings and mindsets–waiting for release and will not be bribed to go against the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Though I am not a prisoner in a building, like Paul, I count it all joy to be bound with the Good News and I will not keep silent and will not accept a bribe to be silent. I cannot be bullied into compromising my faith in God and I will not allow any authority on earth to persuade me to rebel against God.

But we know–from all we see–that has occurred with some people. Though the bribe may not have been money–instead it was support and promises of greater things to come, but the greater things will never eradicate the judgment that is sure to come–when those who live a life in opposition to God’s Word and promote others in doing the same.

We shall all stand before God and give an account of what we’ve done with our time here on earth. I hope never to be ashamed of promoting the Gospel of Jesus and the power of forgiveness and love. I have been forgiven for those things which I did without understanding of Truth. I am loved beyond measure by my heavenly Father–who willingly died for me that I would have another chance to get living right for Him.

There is not enough money on the planet to convince me to move from my stance–total faith in the resurrection power of Jesus and the embodiment of power from Holy Spirit who dwells within me. Unfortunately, not all can say with confidence they feel the same. We see this in politicians who are willing to compromise themselves in order to gain status. We see this in people whose principles are determined by a dollar value. We see this in the church–when the leadership is more concerned about the numbers in the building that souls being saved when Truth is heard and they compromise the Gospel–to be politically correct.

Lord, help us all when we allow greed to reign over the needs of the people to know the Truth.
