Praise Worthiness!

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8 NIV

No matter what happens in America–or even in the world–when we have a right relationship with God, He will always steer us in the direction of His Word.

Military parades–especially those displaying military armament–are usually a tool of dictators to flex military might, but it is more importantly–a demonstrable display of a leader’s insecurities. Therefore, the “military parade” Rumplethinskin wants–is not a celebration of a military victory–those things we normally celebrate using a segment of the military–but a blatant disregard for those who serve in the military to appease his ego and amplify his insecurities.

Many veterans and those currently serving are disgusted by the idea of a military parade to assuage an ego-maniac, especially since he is draft-dodger who refused to serve in the military when called upon–“Cadet Bone Spurs” is an apt nickname for him. Though he loudly proclaims respect for the military–those who know–understand he lies and he’s covering for the fact–he didn’t serve and nor did any of his family. In fact, his grandfather was expelled from Germany because he refused to serve a mandatory stint in the military. It appears–disdain for serving in the military is in his DNA–and therefore nullifies any respect from anyone who has served or is serving in the military.

Claiming that Democrats who didn’t “clap” for him during his State of the Union message committed treason is an a treason in itself. It demonstrates his lack of knowledge of the 1st Amendment of the Constitution or determined disregard for it and that he is not upholding or defending the Constitution as his oath proclaims.  If in fact, disrespecting a sitting president was a treasonous offense, we’d not have very many in Congress still there.

There was the incident of the Congressman who shouted out, “You lie” during one of Obama’s State of Union messages.

There was Paul Ryan sitting as stiff as board through Obama’s State of the Union messages, not clapping or standing.

There was the entire Republican party who “sat on their hands” during Obama’s State of the Union messages, not clapping, not even paying attention.

And then there is the constant malignant rhetoric promoted by Rumplethinskin proclaiming Obama was not an American. That indeed is treasonous, but he’s never been charged or arrested or convicted of a “treason.”

What makes Rumplethinskin think he has an absolute right to be “worshiped?” His malignant narcissistic ego compels him to believe he’s “worthy to be praised.”  Of course, his equally ignorant base enables his thinking since they clamor for his stupidity at every rally. He is not worthy of praise. He is worthy of total disdain and disgust conviction for treason when it is revealed that he conspired with Russia to rig the 2016 election and is still conspiring with them to erode our democracy. “Giving comfort and aid to our adversaries (enemies)” encompasses the definition of “treason.” So, if anyone is guilty of treason, it is Rumplethinskin and his entire administration including the “crime family” mob wannabes.

No matter how much stupid we see from the current resident in the White House, we will not give in or give up nor surrender our values for him to trample on them. We will continue resisting the stupid and blatant ignorance until justice prevails and we call sleep better at night.

Hope is around the corner in the mid term elections and in the 2020 election. We can reverse the stupid and reclaim our position as a world leader if we exercise wisdom in whom we elect. We don’t need to ever elect again, a person who has so much to hide that they deliberately obstruct justice when under investigation.

My life is an open book and ready for inspection by anyone who has access to the Internet.

I don’t have a problem presenting my tax returns which will indeed prove–I’m simply an Everyday American–retired and paying taxes.

I have no problem discussing any questions anyone might have of my past or present–as long as the questions are relevant to the position I’m seeking and my ability to perform well in it.

But getting back to being praise-worthy–nothing worth praising about the current resident in the White House and I don’t know if there will be anything worth praising with a new resident because realistically–none of us are worth praise, but God alone is. With that being the case, I’ll give Him the Praise for He is the only One worthy of it.

People With Character!

People With Character!

Then Solomon said, “If he is a man of character, not a single hair of his will fall to the ground, but if evil is found in him, he dies.” I King 1:52 HCSB

Dr. Martin Luther King is known for saying, he would rather people be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. Why? People with character–know how to conduct themselves at all times.

Of course, many people would take the referenced scripture of out of context and attempt to say that I’m implying people with no character should die. That’s not why I used this particular verse of scripture.

In this passage we find Adonijah–the self-proclaimed king–trying to take the place of Solomon when he knew that David had promised Solomon the throne. Adonijah was not concerned about doing what was right, only doing what he wanted to do and for that reason, when it was reported to David–the dying king–what Adonijah was doing, David arranged for Solomon to be anointed the next king [with the priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan present to confirm]–even as Adonijah and his crew were celebrating what they thought was a coup.

In those days, rebellion against a king meant death. And when it was reported to Solomon that Adonijah was afraid of what he had done–trying to steal the authority of kingship from its rightful owner–Solomon commanded Adonijah be brought to him and declared that if it was determined that he was a man of character (integrity), nothing would happen to him, but if not–he would die.

I’m not advocating that anyone without character should die, but I am advocating that anyone without moral substance, integrity and honesty and incorruptible values–should never be allowed in a position of authority since we know–corruption breeds corruption and immorality breeds immorality, and dishonesty breeds more dishonesty.

Fear-mongering and hatred are character traits of evil and wickedness. We know this because The Word says, that “perfect love casts out fear.” So if love will cast fear aside–we know no love abides in anyone who instills fear in others. And those who have received God’s love, know how to love–unconditionally–and will not promote hatred of people–rather they promote hatred of sin–not the sinner.

Before anyone tries to refute that we are to hate, let’s look at what The Word says:

Hate evil and love good; establish justice in the gate. Amos 5:15 HCSB

The righteous hate lying, but the wicked act disgustingly and disgracefully. Proverbs 13:5 HCSB Those who know The Lord and try to live according to His Word, hate the thought of lying, but the wicked won’t hesitate to lie. And we know–Satan is the father of liars.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Romans 12:9 NIV It is not good to think that killing a person is “a beautiful thing.”

At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Matthew 24:10,11 NIV

The time that Jesus references through Matthew is the last days and here we are.

So, are we people with character and is there evidence for all to see by how we live? If we lie to ourselves, we fool only ourselves for God knows the inward person and He is never fooled by the externals.

 

Operating With Integrity In All Things!

“Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace” (2 Corinthians 1:12 NIV).

Can we have the same boast as Paul? Are our consciences clear and can honestly testify on our behalf? Have we conducted ourselves with integrity in everything we do? Have we been sincere in our efforts? Are we relying on our own wisdom or God’s grace?

This is something to think about since we can only fool man some of the time and God none of the time. So why do we attempt to be dishonest about anything, when God sees everything?

Some may not understand integrity so let’s look at integrity this way:

I  > Interested in pleasing God before anyone else.

N > Noting our shortcomings along the way so we can get honesty right.

T > Testing our own honesty in making decisions before God has to do it.

E > Engaging in honest practices from least things to the big things with all people.

G > Grateful for God’s grace in our lives that provides us opportunity to walk in His favor.

R > Rightly dividing God’s Word so we can live according to it.

I > Involving others to practice honesty on a daily basis.

T >Tearing ourselves away from those who practice deception, lying, and dishonesty.

Y > Yearning for God’s approval in everything we do.

Is this a foundational understanding of “integrity” that all can use?

God, help us to get a greater understanding of how we are to conduct ourselves on a consistently honest basis to Your glory so You will not need to be ashamed of us and we will not bring shame to Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen!
