When The Mountains Crumble!

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” (Psalm 46: 1, 2, 10 NLT)

It appears that all is falling apart, all around us, no matter where we look.

Chaos in The Middle East.

Chaos in Canada.

Chaos in Europe.

Chaos in Asian Countries.

Chaos in Africa.

Chaos in South America.

Chaos in North America.

Everywhere we look–according to media reports–there is chaos and unrest! People are rebelling against governmental authority across the world. Social media provides the means for many to instigate hatred and bigotry against and towards anyone who dares to offer a differing opinion about the state of the world and current events.

For those of us who know and understand God’s Word–we know what time it is, yet we have no need to join in the uproar or fear, we simply need to be still and know–all of this has been predicted and is coming to pass–just as God showed it to us.

Yesterday, I wrote about the devil notching his belt every time someone falls under his influence and at this point, he must have started notches on more than one belt or–the belt he notches–is equal to the circumference of the entire world–and is being notched moment by moment.

Kids killing classmates, madmen running the streets with axes, angry people trespassing government buildings and shooting the innocent–when will it all stop?

When we are convinced as a people–united by the fact that we all belong to the human race–all created by God and Loved by Him and will be obedient to Him–the chaos and destruction will stop, but not until then. Will we see the change in our lifetime–within the next fifty years? It is doubtful, but we can remain hopeful that we will start by turning again to Him to loves us and will never give up on us.

Obedience to Him–our Only Wise God–provides us the space to not fear what man may do, but just know--if we will just be still and not worry, we will see the mighty works of God change nation after nation until peace is obtained throughout the land.

So, while it seems like everything is falling apart and the end is near, just be still and know that He is God and we have nothing to fear–even if we see the crumbling mountains fall into the sea–we have a home in heaven for all eternity. Our future with God is secure as long as we are obedient to Him in all things!

Morning Joy!

“For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning.”(Psalm 30:5 NLT)

No matter how dismal life may seem at any given point, we can see morning joy–if we refuse to give up.

When a room is in total darkness, nothing can be seen, but if we have to rise in it, we can find our way–to the light switch and when the switch is turned on, darkness is dispelled. Our lives can sometimes be the dark room, but we really have nothing to fear; we simply have to “rise up in the midst of the darkness” and turn on the switch–our hope in Jesus–and allow Holy Spirit to dispel the darkness that attempts to invade our thoughts and actions.

When we hurt–we cry and allow the tears to cleanse and then give ourselves time to be comforted.

When we despair–over anything–we should sit still, doing nothing for a moment and wait for it to pass. When we act out of despair, sometimes, we cause the night to linger longer than it should have.

In the midst of life’s trials and challenges, we must learn to wait–though the storms may come, they eventually move out and when they move, we can see clearly.

Our nations are in the midst of storms–the future indeed seems cloudy and few can see any horizon of hope, but we must hold onto to hope; this is just the darkness that will be dispelled with hope and love of one another. We just need to rise up and shout, praising God for His goodness even though we cannot see goodness. We need praise God for His mercy even though we cannot see mercy. We need to praise God for restoration even though it seems like all has been destroyed. While we may be in the throes of darkness and cannot feel our way out, we know that morning is coming–and with the light of the Son–who will dispel the darkness and move us from glory to glory–showering us with His favor–if we would just have hope in Him!

Take comfort in the knowledge that though we may have to deal with dark moments and nights, morning joy awaits us–if we just wait for Him to show us the way!

Tell The World!

“Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.”(Psalm 96:10)

In order to convince all the “heathen” (those who do not acknowledge the God of the bible) we must keep telling them–The Lord Reigns–the world He established shall not be moved and He will judge “all” (believers and unbelievers) alike, when that time comes.

No matter how difficult remaining steadfast becomes, we who know and have a relationship with God, must be determined to keep telling the Gospel, sharing God’s love, and encouraging others to enter into the joy of the Lord and live according to His purposes. Nothing should get in our way–not their unbelief or disdain, their belittling or attempts to undermine what we do–as believers–we must keep telling God’s Truth, not our own, so His judgment will be just!

As difficult as it might be, we must keep our focus on Jesus and not what the world does in its attempts to glorify worldliness instead of Godliness. We must sing songs of praise to Him in the streets, in our homes, anywhere others can hear and especially when we are alone–to encourage ourselves in the Lord, and not be discouraged by the waywardness of the world around us. We can change the atmosphere around us–spiritually and naturally–by keeping our focus on doing what God has called us to do and not allowing the enemy an opportunity to deter us with foolishness. We do not have to argue with anyone about God, just tell them, smile and move on to the next person if they choose not to receive the Good News.

Make a decision today–go into the neighborhoods, the malls, the market places, the eating places, wherever you  are or can go and share the Good News and loving people as you go!

Pulling Down Strong Holds in 2014!

“I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. 2 Corinthians 10:2

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.2 Corinthians 10:3

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Corinthians10:4

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

Father, in the name of Jesus,

We look to You, the author and finisher of our faith,

To help us to do all that You have said we could and would do in Your Word.

We ask You to look upon the hearts and minds of those in positions of authority and leadership everywhere—heads of state, politicians, law enforcement, military, pastors, church leaders, heads of families and everyone else—expose the true nature of each and every person so everyone can see.

We thank You for breaking the strong holds the enemy has on those who cloak themselves in deceptions and lies; exposing manipulative schemes devised by those who think that no one knows.

We thank You for having eyes that see in every place, beholding the good and evil and for pulling off the cloak of dark works that fester in the minds of those who are so easily fooled and influenced by Satan.

We thank You for allowing the scales of political correctness to fall from our eyes and minds so we see and know Truth for the sake of Truth and in following Him in all things.

We thank You for the remnant—those who refuse to buy into political correctness over Godly righteousness—and for their strength and courage that only You can provide to stand against the deeds of evil and praise You in the midst of the chaos.

We thank You for deliverance—from bitterness and desire to avenge the evil so thoughtlessly committed against us—for You have said that we cannot allow the evil to rule over the good that is within us and we will maintain the good in spite of the evil.

We thank You for speaking to hearts of parents everywhere—who have abandoned, abused, or neglected their children. We ask You to create in them a heart to want to do what is right for their children and for themselves.

We thank You for being God, our creator and for the fact that there is none like and nor will there be. There is no god, created by our hands that we would should worship or give any credence to being anything other than something made by the hands of man.

We look to You—more now than ever before—to break every chain that binds those who inflict evil and influence minds to perpetuate evil against others. We look to You to create situations in which men and women and children everywhere will know that they must develop the mind of Christ and live within the Word so the nations can be saved.

We look to You, O God—to position those who know You in places where they can, with courage—take a stand and become immoveable—in promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray Your hand of protection over all who belong to You and for those You know will change their directions and come to You of their own accord. Keep all assigned angels alert and watchful so the enemy will not have opportunity to steal, kill or destroy the hopes of entire nations. Open our eyes that we might see the deceptions planned so we know how to fight against them. Open our hears so we can hear You when You speak—warning us of dangers and telling us what to say. Touch our bodies and heal them of all sickness and disease. Touch our minds cutting away any thoughts of disobedience or evil in the light of day so they cannot manifest themselves in darkness. Speak to the hearts of Your children of all ages and encourage them to know that wisdom is the principle thing and with all their getting—they need to have understanding—academically, economically, and spiritually.

In the new year, O God, we look for You to do a new thing—a new thing so great that will once and for all convince the unbelieving that You are God and You are God alone.

We proclaim every good thing that You have planned for us will be obtained in 2014 by all who obey Your Word and share the love of Jesus Christ with others. Thank You for hearing and answering our prayers. Amen!

Remember to Tell Others!

“After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the LORD nor what he had done for Israel” (Judges 2:10 NIV).

I’ve often wondered (now that I know for myself) why people take the stance they do in opposition to God.  Then, when I read passages from the Old Testament, I am reminded that this current trend to oppose God is just history repeating itself.  When Joshua died and the generation after him died who had first-hand knowledge of what God had accomplished for the Children of Israel, the people (another generation) forgot to keep telling it to others and they chose to do what they wanted to do.

What happened to the generation who didn’t know the Lord?  They served idols and did what the other nations did who did not know God.  Then, God became angry and allowed them to suffer at the hands of the other nations and when He made Himself known to this generation, they repented and once again knew the blessings of The Lord.  And as long as they remembered to tell those who came behind about the great things God had done and were obedient, He continued to bless them as a nation (until He relented to their constant grumblings about having a king, but that’s another discussion).

For those of us who are concerned with this generation and their opposition to God, we need not worry. God is not a god of trends.  What He has done in the past, He will do again.  When people–as a nation–realize that He is not pleased with their trends (idol worship, doing things their way), and get tired of suffering, they will hear God’s messengers, repent, and He will hear their cries and heal the land.  We must remember to tell others about all God has done–His love, mercy, and many benefits for all who receive what He has to give!

The ultimate sacrifice has been made–(Jesus on the cross) there is no other sacrifice needed to get God to smile upon us other than–obedience in being a witness--telling of His goodness!  Hallelujah!
