Rumors!

Rumors!

Do not lose heart or be afraid when rumors are heard in the land; one rumor comes this year, another the next, rumors of violence in the land and of ruler against ruler. For the time will surely come when I will punish the idols of Babylon; her whole land will be disgraced and her slain will all lie fallen within her. Then heaven and earth and all that is in them will shout for joy over Babylon, for out of the north destroyers will attack her,”  declares the LORD. Jeremiah 51:46-48 NIV

Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. Mark 13:5-10 NIV

Have you heard the latest rumors? Some pertain to the latest gossip about celebrities, some pertain to the latest innuendo about the nation, and some pertain to rumblings of dissatisfaction in White House Administration. Who do we believe?

I have no time to devote to rumors and salacious gossip about celebrities and with all that’s happening in the nation–the NFL, the NBA, hockey, movie producers, mass murderers–it’s just too difficult to keep up. However, when it comes to the manipulative moves by the resident WH idiot, I tend to pay more attention to what’s being said. Why? It’s really very simple. I’m running for President in 2020 and I don’t want to make the same mistakes I see being made on a daily basis by not understanding the power of words.

Though some of the religious wing-nuts–such as Pat Robertson–are claiming the natural disasters on same-sex marriage and even saying, the Las Vegas massacre is a result of our sinful acts. I happen to understand the ramifications of climate change and the need to change how we live in order to save our planet and in the need for common sense gun control legislation. I refuse to join the hateful rhetoric designed to stoke fear by lying on God and what His Word says. In fact, the more people lie on God, the more inclined I am to distance myself from those pseudo-Christians and concentrate on my personal relationship with God and in promoting love. Since God is love, it is far more important for me and true Christians to promote love, not condemnation. When we can bring others to Christ by the love we show them, we can also bring them into a place where God’s love will ignite a change in them to want to please Him, not people.

And pleasing people seems to be the catalyst that will eventually lead to the ruin of a nation. Our current Congress appears to think it is more important to keep “campaign promises” that were lies to begin than in listening to those who elected them. It would appear–that those who invaded and infiltrated the Republican party–have forever decimated the mission and have caused many to flee the party. I’ve never seen so many Republicans plan to not run in coming elections simply because of the invaders who are detracting from the party’s stance. No longer is the Republican party the party of “moral authority” or “family values” since they have demonstrated they have none. They nominated a foul-mouthed, womanizer who thinks of only himself and denigrates women and minorities at every turn. They knew he was not a Christian, but promoted him as one and now they wonder why their party is falling apart.

Did not they not read the Word or understand The Word when told that God hates liars? Did they not understand the lake of fire was prepared for all those who lie and promote lies? Did they think that God was not going to take His hands off situations and allow the consequences of all the lies to fall upon those who perpetuated them?

This is what happens when people promote–rumors–the lies people spread about God choosing the most inept, incompetent, racist bigot to be president. If those who promoted the lie haven’t figured it out, yet-I suggest they find a quiet place, with no distractions, and seek God for themselves. God didn’t tell anyone that He chose trump to be president; that was a rumor perpetuated by those who merely wanted to gain control of the White House and Congress to force their beliefs on others. And now, because of their lies we now face the drum roll announcing rumors of war and discontent with other nations because the WH idiot acts more like a school yard bully than an aging adult. He can’t help it–he never matured and is totally incapable of acting like an adult–no empathy, no compassion, no heart. And for those who think he has compassion because of his ability to read a speech others wrote–same the violin strands for someone else. He’s a phony, just like the pseudo-Christians who promoted him.

But let’s get back to the rumors of the end coming. We’re told in God’s Word that there are things which must happen before the end is yet and one of those things is that, the Gospel must be preached to every nation. The Gospel hasn’t been preached to every nation, so we still have time to get living right and that means, stop spreading rumors which are lies. Before the 2016 election many of us experienced being inundated with false propaganda we now know was perpetuated by the Russians and promoted by so-called Christians. The pseudo-Christians never thought about seeking God and His wisdom before promoting photo-shopped videos, manipulated videos, and false advertising–deliberately created to undermine Hillary Clinton. I never believed the lies and did not promote them and tried to convince others that the lies were just that. But when people think they are so righteous they cannot or will not hear truth, they become the impetus of the rumor mills and they just keep the lies going.

With the upcoming elections, the rumors will get started again. I won’t participant in spreading them and I pray everyone reading this won’t either. But if you do, know that God will have the last word about your life and you will stand before Him in the end. I know that to be true and I only plan to hear Him say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

As a good and faithful servant–one who knows how to serve others–let me start this very true rumor–I will run for president in 2020 and I plan to win! Knowing The Signs!

Knowing The Signs!

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.  Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.  At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:3-14 NIV

Rumors that spread faster than a forest fire unchecked tend to cause more damage than the actual event. What’s a rumor? A story or statement circulated without any confirmation of truth or facts. And in this age of technological advances, we see rumors spread faster than the speed of light or rather at the speed of a person’s typing ability.

The problem with a rumor is that “the noise generated by the unsubstantiated story” causes irreparable harm to many in most cases. By the time truth is revealed about the rumor, people have already accepted the rumor as truth and are reluctant to rethink what they’ve heard–even the evidence is right in front of them.

We see this happen over and over again in the daily influx of opinions based on rumors and falsehoods made to appear as though they are truth.

Examples of rumors appearing to be true include all the uproar about a book written by a person with a grudge, Peter Schweizer, the author of Clinton Cash. It would appear that most of what the author alluded to in his book was based upon false information, but the innuendo led to a federal probe of the Clinton Foundation in which they have found nothing to substantiate the claims in the book. Of course, upon discovering the author’s connections to a network that includes backers of Trump, and other disgruntled Republicans, one can understand the motive behind the book.

Other rumors that appear to be designed to impact the current election include, “an indictment against Hillary Clinton based upon information found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop” that has since been debunked. If the FBI has not had an opportunity to review the information they found, how could a determination made about the material? And then, we recently discover that the announcement made about the continuing investigation was known days before by the Trump campaign and Rudy Giuliani admits to having access to what was being done before it was announced.

There are two things we should understand about Giuliani’s hatred of Hillary Clinton–he hates her because she won a seat to the Senate against him and that he is–Comey’s–the FBI Director’s former boss. I guess some ties are never broken even when they could cost a person their current position.

And then there are the so-called videos created and distributed by James O’Keefe (filmmaker) with the Veritas Project–a project that was given $10,000 by the Trump Foundation in May (according to public financial information disclosed). These supposed videos indicate conspiracy by the Clinton campaign to disrupt and create violence at the Trump rallies. Apparently, a payment was made to two people claiming to work for the Clinton campaign (who are no longer part of the campaign) and thus we have a rumor started that Hillary Clinton paid people to disrupt Trump Rallies. If we take the time to look at all the facts, critically analyze what is known and know how to draw rational conclusions,  it is easy to dispel some rumors, but unfortunately, many people would rather believe fiction over facts.

Now the noise we hear–without a foundation of truth to support such a plan is--the Republican leaders plan to “impeach” Clinton should she win the election and The Chairman of the Oversight Committee is guaranteeing that her presidency will accomplish nothing since he plans to keep her tied up with investigations for the first two years. Somehow, I guess I mistakenly thought the role of elected officials was to take care of business for all citizens in the United States, not incite animosity because of grudges. It would appear that the elected officials in Washington are nothing more than vengeful old men.

And yet–these same Republicans are supposed to be the party of “family values” and “beacons of Christianity.” Amazing how their actions do not align with the words they speak–apparently falsely. But then again, we are told in The Word, from the abundance of the heart (whatever is in there), the mouth speaks. So I guess we know, what’s in the hearts of a majority of the Republicans holding elected positions.

Are these the signs of the time–when people’s hearts grow cold and they turn from the faith in Jesus Christ and look to “mere mortals” for salvation? If people are looking to the Republican to do anything other than obstruct and impede forward movement, their words are the sign of what we can expect. Considering the nominee’s stance and continued encouragement of chants, “Lock her up,” we have nothing to look forward to other than more hatred, bigotry, and manipulation by a megalomaniac who does not understand the democratic process.

I’m grateful to Holy Spirit who always alerts me to those things that are rumored and leads me to seek truth. I’m also grateful for having the integrity instilled in me by the love of Holy Spirit, to not perpetuate the spreading of a rumor. When they get to me and I have researched the matter, I do not accept the perpetuation and will not promote hearsay. I ask for evidence of everything from those who are attempting to spread the rumor and I know how to determine if a source is credible or not. God is just good that way.

Lord, whatever Your plan, we accept as Your Will and will keep hope alive, waiting for Your return, knowing we will spend eternity with You.

Don’t Let Rumors Discourage!

Don’t Let Rumors Discourage!

Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies found out that I had finished rebuilding the wall and that no gaps remained—though we had not yet set up the doors in the gates. So Sanballat and Geshem sent a message asking me to meet them at one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But I realized they were plotting to harm me, so I replied by sending this message to them: “I am engaged in a great work, so I can’t come. Why should I stop working to come and meet with you?” Four times they sent the same message, and each time I gave the same reply. The fifth time, Sanballat’s servant came with an open letter in his hand, and this is what it said: “There is a rumor among the surrounding nations, and Geshem tells me it is true, that you and the Jews are planning to rebel and that is why you are building the wall. According to his reports, you plan to be their king. He also reports that you have appointed prophets in Jerusalem to proclaim about you, ‘Look! There is a king in Judah!’ “You can be very sure that this report will get back to the king, so I suggest that you come and talk it over with me.” I replied, “There is no truth in any part of your story. You are making up the whole thing.” They were just trying to intimidate us, imagining that they could discourage us and stop the work. So I continued the work with even greater determination. Nehemiah 6:1-9 NIV

POLITICS ALERT!

While reading this I realized that though there are few things that change over the course of history, not many things change. Way back then, we see the “politics” of people who don’t know God and how they attempt to deceive those who do.

What’s the best way to ignite emotions in people? Starting rumors to make them fearful. And in this election cycle, we see how rumors can and have ignited emotions in people like never before. We see one candidate being castigated for lying about one thing or another over what previous positions entailed and yet the other candidate lies every time they open their mouth on a daily basis and the words they use at rallies do nothing other than increase racial tensions and bigotry.

What is more amazing to me is that those listening to the republican nominee actually believe everything he says without having factual evidence of his telling the truth, but they are quick to spread the rumors in an effort to denigrate the other candidate.

How do I know? A number of supporters apparently repeat what they consider part of the script from the playbook of destruction–their philosophy–if you repeat enough, it becomes true. In reading articles about the election and the comments made, many copy and paste the same lies in every post. And for evidence they point to biased news media articles and the Internet. I guess they believed the lie, “if it’s on the Internet, it has to be true. But then they also believe whatever is on YouTube because they’re not aware of the fact that videos can be manipulated by those with agendas to destroy.

For the record–let me say this: the experts who have investigated Hillary Clinton have debunked every allegation that exists.  Therefore, there is no need for anyone to repeat those allegations about her being corrupt, a murderer (delusional thinking), and a liar (except for the fact that all politicians lie about their promises). Benghazi–investigated and resolved (understanding of military protocols help to understand this). The emails–investigated and resolved. The Clinton Foundation–investigated and there is NOTHING CORRUPT about it. There is no pay-to play aspect of what they do–they accept donations to help others. This is just rumors to undermine the candidate, while ignoring the blatant remarks of Trump.

Twice–with his own words–Trump has suggested that someone should take Hillary out (kill her)–with justification or excuse for what he said. Plotting to kill someone is a crime. “Maybe the second-amendment people will do something about her” (after the election). “Her security team should disarm and see what happens to her.”

He has woefully misrepresented the Black Community by saying things like–“they’re in the worst shape, ever, ever, ever.” He obviously missed his history classes and forgot about slavery and the Jim Crow Laws and the fight for Civil Rights (we still don’t have). His influence at his rallies even have some believing that President Obama is the cause of racism. A lady(his campaign chair–Kathy Miller) was interviewed in Ohio recently and said that, “while I was growing up in the 60s, racism didn’t exist.” My response to that was, she had to be living in a cave or a tunnel with no connection to the outside world to believe that. Racism in this country has always existed and until people see “all people” as human beings rather than judging them by their skin tones, it will continue to exist.

Update: After writing this blog this morning, I discovered that Kathy Miller has resigned her position with the Trump campaign.

I’ve gotten fired up just thinking about how rumors destroy–but then, isn’t that the enemy’s job–to destroy? It has been how he (Satan) operates from the beginning and will be until the end of mankind. We simply have to be smart enough to recognize his handiwork–designed to destroy and work to provide truth to all willing to hear it.

WE NEED TO DO SOME RESEARCH FOR OURSELVES–FROM CREDIBLE SOURCES AND SEEK GOD’S WISDOM IN ALL THINGS. If we just listen to the candidates–without a biased ear–we’ll know who should be president of this already great America. Don’t let the rumors discourage continued work to make it even better.
