Protect Your Soul!

Protect Your Soul!

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.  May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 5:12-23 NIV

If we need proof–the evidence by which one is convicted or convinced of anything–we have to seek God’s Word to see that those professing to be Christians–lie and they lie about the lies and show themselves to be reprobates with the continued lying.

Who are the lawmakers who claim to be Christians lying to? Themselves and their constituents. Those of us who are not blinded by party ideology see through the lies and know — they make a mockery of what Christianity is supposed to be.

First of all, when Paul talks to “brothers and sisters” he’s referring to the family of Christ Jesus–all who believe and walk according to God’s Word. So, when we see lawmakers and other “pseudo-Christian” leaders do things that are in opposition to God’s Word (no help for the poor) we know they lie. When we see them make excuses for those who publicly do wrong without public admonition, we know they lie. When we see them, not upholding their oath of office just to make the idiot in charge feel good, we know they lie. They have no respect for God’s Word, themselves or those they supposedly represent.

Secondly, for them to use Christianity as a benchmark to claim to be a party “of the moral majority” when they have all fallen short is nothing short of remarkable–or maybe I should say, laughable because they expect people to believe them and the gullible, do.

We watched the GOP rejoice in taking healthcare from millions and yet making sure the wealthy save millions. We watched them preen themselves, congratulating themselves on their accomplishment–assuring early deaths for those who can’t afford healthcare. We watched them hide from their constituents because they didn’t want to answer questions about what they did or hear how their decisions impact “real lives” and not just numbers on a page. We know they lied when they did this because Christ, never would. The giddy law-makers would prefer people die early due to health issues or starve to death because they can’t afford the ever-rising costs of food.

This is what we have in Washington, DC–the cast of clowns pretending to be Christians, which by their actions, demonstrate they are not.

Moving on–we do have choices and whether or not people want to believe it–the Democratic party is the party that cares and they have demonstrated that repeatedly. They care about the poor, the needy and the marginalized and try to write laws to protect them, while the GOP–does just the opposite.

In both the mid term elections in 2018 and the General election in 2020 people have a choice to make and they need to listen and watch all who are speaking, vying for their vote. Real Christians–don’t have to brag about what they do and they take no pleasure in the suffering of others. We must pay attention and seek God before casting our vote–and don’t let our emotions rule over common sense.  We must remember that and guard our souls against the wiles of the enemy.

Why Faith in God? Part 1

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:1,6 NIV)

Many people have hope in many things–people, things, animals, but for those of us who have hope in God, total confidence and assurance that He is and will do, our hope is not in vain. We know that without faith–the total assurance and confidence that He is and will do, we cannot possibly please Him.  If we don’t please Him, why would we expect Him to do anything for us?

If a parent consistently tells a child they will do something for the child and never does it—sooner or later that child will stop believing the parent and nothing they say will matter. This is a loss of hope and confidence. But for the parent who consistently does what they say they will do–reward or punish–that child develops complete confidence in the parent–knowing they will either be rewarded or punished. If we can believe this analogy about our natural parents, why can’t we believe it about God?

I have come to the conclusion that many people distrust God because they believe He has failed them in some way or another. The evidence for this conclusion is clear–when God is blamed for all the things in the world that go wrong or people feel He has not answered their prayers, they can angry with God, doubt His existence and then try to convince others that God does not care.

The answer to prayers are sometimes not evident because people “pray amiss,” praying for things instead of direction and wisdom, praying for God to hurt others. When we pray, we must pray–according to The Word–believe we receive, and we shall have what we pray for. However, since God knows so much than we do, when prayers have been answered, some may not recognize it. For instance–prayers for healing can manifest in a number of ways. A person’s body can be totally healed if that is God’s plan for them (because He knows the future), or healing can come in the form of death–the person suffering no longer suffers.

Sometimes, people don’t recognize that if a person is destined to prolonged suffering, death really is the answer to prayer for those who understand how God works. When my mother was dying of cancer, she had lost all muscle control, could not eat or swallow. I prayed for God to take His child home and He did the very next morning. I was holding her hand when she made the transition. As much I loved my mother, I didn’t want her to suffer.

When I pray, since my abilities are limited, I pray for Holy Spirit to interact with people and for hearts to be willing to hear. I pray for wisdom and guidance and when a situation is really serious, I connect with prayer warriors to be in agreement with solution. No matter how God responds, I believe He will answer every prayer.

Cowards and Kidnappers

What on earth moves upon the mind of those who would kidnap a child?

Is it that they are mentally dysfunctional, nutritionally malnourished, or just plain deviant?

I really hate cowards and cowardly acts. There is no greater cowardly act than for a person to put a child in harm’s way or to cause that child harm.

Really? What can a child really do to appease a person’s ego?

Oh, I get it. The person who kidnaps the child, molests the child, kills the child is a nothing and a nobody and they know it, so the only person they can feel better than is the child. How sick!

For every person out there who is so insecure and cowardly that they bully kids–grow a pair and get some professional help! Leave the kids alone! The only reason you go after them is because they cannot fight back and defeat you–you cowardly bully.

Egotistical maniac–you are nothing and will be nothing in life but a bad taste and a nightmarish memory.

Get over your miserable childhood and leave our children alone. They are not responsible for the misery you suffered and should not have to pay for your suffering. Go after the person or people who caused you misery and leave the children alone.

Leave our children alone!
