Staying Focused!

Staying Focused!

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22 NIV

How many times have we planned to do something without adequate information? Those who know what I’m talking about, understand not having all the information needed to make an informed decision causes problems.

This happens in a number of instances. Deciding to paint a house without determining how much paint is needed, including the base or trim, or tape and brushes and tarps, and paint remover, etc. usually ends up with multiple trips to a store. Planning a dinner without checking to make sure one has all the necessary ingredients will cause frustration and anxiety if it’s a special dinner. How about making a cake? Do we check to make sure we have eggs, flour, butter, sugar, etc. and the right cake pans before we start baking or do we end up running out to the store in the middle of making the cake?

If thinking about the above-mentioned things is important, how much more so is it important for us to know everything a major decision entails before we jump in, head first?

There are three things I want to reflect upon:

a)  The Special Elections in SC and GA

b) The Secret Healthcare Bill

c) Deciding to run for President

First, the special election results–were predictable and not a surprise to anyone, though some were disappointed. The difference in the outcome may have been changed with “consulting others with more experience,” but though the Democrats did not win the seats, they did better than they were supposed to do–if we listen to Republicans.

Next, the secret healthcare bill being drafted by a handful of Republicans or their staffers and though not all have seen, Mitch McConnell expects to have a vote on it, without everyone being privy to it, and without “consulting the experts” to make sure any plans would be effective in keeping everyone insured. McConnell claims the Democrats didn’t want to participate in the process, but the truth is–they were not invited to participate in the process, but neither were most of the Republicans. This is not a wise decision and if passed by Senate and House–will come back to bite Republicans in the butt on November 6, 2018. People have a bad habit of remembering those who plan to cause them harm–and they will remember it was the Republicans who took their healthcare.

Last of all–my decision to run for president. I’ve spent a great deal of my time, researching various aspects of issues on which I take a definitive stance and in talking to a multitude of people, getting their perspectives and seeing how they align with my own. We’re in the process of forming a coalition to create challenges for me–to fine-tune my thinking about “everything.” This is not to say I need to “know” everything, but I should know how to direct people to find answers I don’t have.  In fact, I should know the people who have the answers and I’m working on it.

I’m watching all the political flurry across the nation and getting involved with local politics and it is a lot of work–not an undertaking anyone should consider lightly. I’ve given this a great deal of thought and nothing I’ve discovered so far has deterred me from my quest.

I’m thinking so far ahead that I’ve already contacted my local police department to alert them of possible traffic congestion in my neighborhood, once I officially announce my candidacy. I don’t want my neighbors to get upset with me when reporters are taking up all the available space on the streets or clamoring for interviews at all hours. Just one thing on my check list–done.

Considering the fact that trump knew years before he ran that he was going to run for president, I would have thought he had an inkling as to how government works. He doesn’t and that is appalling on a number of levels.

At any rate, I will plan wisely with the assistance of wise counsel from various walks of life and be ready to answer any question that is asked of me.  By March 2019, I’ll be ready.

Did You Know?

Did You Know?

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will find favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Proverbs 3:3,4 NIV

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. Proverbs 22:1 NIV

Most people are remembered by what they do and the association their name brings to a situation.  The Word tells us that when we obey God, we’ll find favor and a  good name in the sight of God and man. I’m counting on God’s Word to see me through the decision-making process as I contemplate running for President in 2020. I’m doing the exploration now in hopes of establishing a coalition of people who have similar ideas and values and will support my run. Fortunately for me, I have until June of 2019 to make that decision and once made–is irreversible. This is too important for me to take lightly so I must consider all things from every possible angle.

The real hindrance to a successful run at this juncture–is not many know who I am and some of those who do–are either skeptical of my ability to win or frightened at what running could cost me–all loss of privacy.

So, here’s my attempt to alleviate the skepticism and fear.

I was born and raised in West Virginia–lived in London and Montgomery and for a very brief time–Harlem Heights until my mother and stepfather separated.

I’ve been told that my mother and father were divorced by the time I was a year-old (of course I wouldn’t remember that) and after that–well, life had its ups and downs.

The only time I ran for any office–I was in the eleventh grade and ran for class president. I lost to a boy named Tommy (can’t remember his last name), a very popular blind student and there was no bitterness in the loss. Like every competition–there’s a winner and a loser. I would have supported Tommy as a class president for our senior year, but that opportunity was denied me when my mother decided to move to Detroit, Michigan.

That decision–was a pivotal point in my life–one that I don’t think my mother ever understood and since I didn’t want to be in Detroit, I became a rebellious teenager to the nth degree. I didn’t do anything illegal, but I no longer cared what anyone thought of me and did what I wanted to do. I quit school after one semester at Northern High School because the atmosphere was so violent I didn’t want to be there. I later went back and took the two classes needed for my diploma during summer school.

I managed to get a partial scholarship to Detroit Institute of Technology, but circumstances impeded my progress and I only finished one term. From there, I worked various jobs: file clerk, paraprofessional for Detroit Public Schools, to bank teller for various banks in both Michigan and Texas, a telephone service representative for Houston Lighting and Power, a secretary for Crain Communications, Inc. and an inspector and counselor for United Community Housing Coalition. Due to car accident that impeded my ability to drive as much as I needed to drive, I ended up leaving that job and eventually going back to college.

In between some of the various and sundry jobs–I acknowledged a calling into ministry in 1987 and completed courses of study to that end, licensed 1990 and later ordained in 1996.

In 1997, I graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Sociology and English, and in 2002 completed an MA in English and Speech, and continued my education towards a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction in English and Special Education. I finished the coursework, but changed my mind about where I saw a career in education headed and am now considered–ABD–all but Dissertation.

I’ve taught in a number of environments–public schools as a substitute teacher and as a certified teacher, and college professor as well as in various churches. I’ve taught in a Catholic school and charter schools.

I’ve written and directed plays as well as supervised student directors.

I’ve written a number of books–most of which can be found on Amazon.com, covering a wide range of interests. Two of the books written are the result of challenging myself in the NaNoWriMo challenge in November. The first year I wrote the required 50,000 words in 15 days, the second year in 9 days.

I’ve been nominated for teacher of the year, profiled in Who’s Who in Teaching, and involved in the National Writing Project on a local level at Oakland University and Wayne State University.

I’ve been volunteered for a number non-profits–one of which I founded.

Most of what I’ve done is out of a sincere desire to make a difference in the lives of others and so far, I think I’ve been pretty successful.

At any rate, whatever a person wants to know about me can be found in a book or in a blog–I have no problem in publicizing my inner reflections about me or others or situations–as most of my readers know. But for those who don’t know–have fun doing the research. I have two wonderful children, three grandchildren and a husband I adore.

The purpose of this blog post–is to alert anyone who thinks they can find anything “potentially damaging” to my intent to run for president. I encourage the “investigation” because I have nothing to hide. I’ve lived the life of an Everyday American with ups and downs, trials and tribulations, defeats and victories.

Did you know all this? Well, now you know! Remember the name and join me in helping to make a difference in the lives of Everyday Americans!

Let’s Hear The Conclusion!

Let’s Hear The Conclusion!

Now all has been heard, here is the conclusion of the matter; Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 NIV

Amazing how for everything that happens under the sun, there is a biblical reference for which we can frame our thoughts.

Comey’s Testimony–My perspective!

Yesterday, I watched James Comey’s testimony with millions of Americans and other countries–after reading his statement because I wanted to hear what the former FBI director had to say.

After reiterating what had already been released, we get insight into Comey’s thoughts and feelings at the time of each of the meetings he had with trump. Considering he was moved, out of “gut instinct” to document the meetings, his testimony “in my mind” proved that Comey was fired because he would not: pledge loyalty to trump or drop an investigation involving Michael Flynn.

Points of contention for some (not me): Why didn’t Comey confront trump about the inappropriateness of meeting with him and his requests and Loretta Lynch wanting Comey to call the Clinton email incident–a “matter” instead of an investigation.

My take–trump’s white house counsel should have briefed trump on what was appropriate or inappropriate. When Comey informed the AG the first time there was a problem, that would have been the AG’s responsibility to speak to trump.

My Take-Aways–Comey told the truth and though he confirmed that he told trump he “was not” the target of an investigation–“while he was the FBI Director” he made it clear that trump is under investigation now–because of what he is doing–false accusations–not anyone else. trump attempted to gain a loyalty pledge from Comey and was not successful and then he attempted to influence Comey into dropping the investigation against Flynn.

Who–if anyone–is lying about the situation? Comey is considered by most to be man of integrity and honor. On the other hand, trump is known to be a pathological liar. Therefore, I conclude that trump is the liar and Comey is the victim in this situation.

The asides–Understanding Republicans would attempt to deflect the focus from trump’s possible obstruction of justice, I was not surprised by the interjections of “but Hillary and her emails.” Not surprised at all by that proclamation and knew without doubt that there would talking points created for the parrots to parrot. There were.

Today, trump’s claim of “total and complete vindication” is both misinformed and ludicrous and further exacerbated by a bumbling, inept attorney who refused to acknowledge the simple fact of what was then to what is now. Kasowitz’s further claim (I’m sure at the behest of trump) that Comey was a liar and a leaker is further confirmation of his ineptness. Enabling a person when they are clearly in the wrong is not helpful to anyone and in fact, will probably result in a greater gap of trust between the public and the WH.

Speaking of the WH–Sarah Huckabee Sander’s proclamation that trump doesn’t lie was so preposterous that I felt sorry for her.  Everyone knows trump lies because his lies are so easily fact-checked. He flip-flops on a matter from day to day, if not, hour to hour. It’s a matter of “PUBLIC RECORD.”

At any rate, trump claims he taped conversations with Comey that will prove Comey a liar. Okay, so let’s hear them. Unless they have hired actors to create the tapes, once again, trump wrote a check his behind can’t cash–there were no tapes or he would have produced them by now. It’s like the proof he had that Obama had wiretapped him–non-existent. And now the claim that Comey is a leaker–is also false–because there was no “privileged communication” or “classified” information “given” to anyone. More lies from the WH.

My conclusion–trump is unfit–temperamentally and intellectually (if we believe Ryan who says, “he’s new, he didn’t know”) to serve America in the position of the Oval Office. If he doesn’t know what the job entails, he shouldn’t be in the role. There are experts around him (hopefully) that should be advising him.

Yes, I get it some voters (not the majority) wanted someone other than a politician in the WH. They got what they wanted and it’s become a nightmare for Americans.  Over 20 million Americans are about to lose their healthcare, consumer protection regulations have been rolled back so corporations can pollute the water and the air, a proposal has been put before Congress to privatize Air Traffic Control–endangering lives of those who fly, and now they’re gutting the Dodd-Frank Act–allowing Wall Street to once again, put Americans in financial jeopardy.

They also got a rigidly conservative Supreme Court Justice who sides with corporations and ignores the rights of individuals, an Attorney General whose known bigoted past is now prevailing in our “so-called justice” system and who has his own problems with Russian Connections. Tax reform has resulted in massive cuts for the rich, not much for the poor and working class.

So, all those who support trump–hope you’re happy–validating the premise that ignorance is bliss. While you continue to thrive in the alt reality framed by delusion, the rest of us–the True Patriots–will continue fighting for all Americans and their constitutional rights.

Watch for all the unfolding events that will change the landscape in America forever.

Now, Lord!

Now, Lord!

Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said: “Who am I, LORD God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?And as if this were not enough in your sight, my God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You, LORD God, have looked on me as though I were the most exalted of men. “What more can David say to you for honoring your servant? For you know your servant, LORD. For the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made known all these great promises. “There is no one like you, LORD, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. And who is like your people Israel—the one nation on earth whose God went out to redeem a people for himself, and to make a name for yourself, and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt? You made your people Israel your very own forever, and you, LORD, have become their God. “And now, LORD, let the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house be established forever. Do as you promised, so that it will be established and that your name will be great forever. Then people will say, ‘The LORD Almighty, the God over Israel, is Israel’s God!’ And the house of your servant David will be established before you. “You, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him. So your servant has found courage to pray to you. You, LORD, are God! You have promised these good things to your servant. Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, LORD, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever.” I Chronicles 17:16-27 NIV

It is time for all those who believe God more than the politicians to put themselves in position to think and do as David did–accepting God’s promise as His Will for our lives, and walking in the favor He provides.

We cannot allow ourselves to be bogged down in the negativity targeted against us, nor can we waddle in self-pity doing nothing to change the landscape around us. When we pray, we must get up and do–to see how God works in our lives.

Now is not the time for a pity party because of the GOP Terrorist Act. Now, is the time to get deeply embroiled in the political arena, seeking and supporting a person who will live as God desires us to live and do all that Jesus commanded of us–Loving God, and Loving our neighbors as ourselves.

We cannot sit and watch those who proclaim to know Jesus and yet, ignore His commandment to love. For love does not ignore or abandon the poor, needy and vulnerable. Love embraces and lifts those from the depths of poverty and provides them avenues to soar like eagles. Love has no personal agenda, but always looks after others. Love has no allegiance to political partisanship, but because of our allegiance and relationship with Jesus Christ–we love all, unconditionally.

Now, is the time to rise up from our prayer positions, fully engaged and replenished by Holy Spirit to march into the battle ahead–armed and ready to defeat the enemy within the White House and on Capitol Hill.

Now, is the time to research and gather and analyze all information we can in order to truthfully respond to all the nonsense that is pouring forth from the incompetence of those who will not read with understanding. Sadly, it has become public knowledge that many of the Republicans who voted in favor of the GOP Terrorist Act (AHCA), never read it and simply went along with the party–some bribed or bullied by the liar-in-chief (who doesn’t have a clue either).

I am asserting myself into The Word and believing that whatever God promised David out of his obedience, I am also in line to receive. Therefore the passage above–applies to me and I will see all that God has shown me and nothing the enemy attempts to do to keep me from receiving all God has for me–will prosper. The enemy’s plans will fizzle against the shield of love it hits at every turn, everywhere I go. I declare it all done, in Jesus’ name, right now, Lord!

In order to expect to receive God’s promises, we must know what they are and they can only be found in His Word! Now, Lord!

Win With Favor!

Win With Favor!

My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. Proverbs 3:1-7 NIV

I am amazed and grateful for the support I’ve received from those who acknowledged my intent for a presidential run in 2020. As I said before, this time over the next few months will be used in my quest to determine the feasibility and the needs of others. I am concerned about the welfare of all people so I must make sure that I represent the needs of all people.

What I bring to the table for a presidential run is this: A desire to see all Americans thrive; especially the 98% who were not privy to the access of wealth (some born into it) of the other 2%. When I speak on behalf of the 98%; it is from the experience of living as we do, enduring what many have endured, and overcoming as many have overcome–without gaining wealth by cheating, lying, or humiliating others. Beyond my flaws and shortcomings, I still have much to offer this country if I’m elected president.

This is how I’ve explained what I have to offer to others:

  • I fully recognize that I don’t know everything I need to know to be president of the United States, but I’m also wise enough to know how to find those people who know all I don’t know.
  • I am a qualified educator (with multiple degrees), an avid reader and prolific writer.
  • I am more than just an educator; I am a life-long learner and look forward to learning something new every day.
  • I am both compassionate and passionate and believe in standing up for all who are unable to fight back for themselves.
  • I am a committed Believer in The Word and in my relationship with Jesus Christ (though I know there are some who think a liberal can’t be a Christian–based on what I’ve seen of the “far-right Christians,” I’m better at being more like Jesus than they will ever be).
  • I know many of the issues that plague women–especially women of color–because I experienced them through living.
  • I know the challenge of trying to raise a family on minimum wage jobs as a single parent and yet never giving up.
  • I know the challenges of creating an environment and opportunities needed for a quality education because I’ve taught in some of the most difficult situations and yet managed to inspire students to excel, in spite of their circumstances.
  • I know the importance of the need for equality in pay for women who are working just as hard as their male counterparts, but often in more challenging situations.
  • I know the challenges that many grandparents face on a daily basis trying to raise grandchildren because I’m doing just that.
  • I know the challenges many senior citizens face because I am one and my husband I face those same challenges.
  • I know the challenges students face in trying not to get involved with negative behaviors and in rebelling against parents because I was a rebellious teenager.

The list could go on, and when the time comes–it shall.  I know what I know because I’ve lived it and even with all the experiences I’ve had, I don’t know it all and so I need to hear from those who have “learned to appreciate life because of having lived it” and want others to learn from their experiences.

I’m knowledgeable in a number of areas, but realize I have much to learn and will spend time seeking those who know to help me understand what I don’t know.

My interest in running for president is not just a “reaction” to the current inept administration (though that is part of it), but it is more about caring about all Americans and doing what I can for them and in maintaining peace throughout the world.  Plans are coming together–rather quickly–and with the help of those who have already offered I should be able to present initial ideas for policy plans that will lift all Americans–to whatever standard they want to reach.

I don’t presume to know what all Americans need or want, but I will be asking questions and I hope as many Americans as possible will respond to a survey that will be available in the coming weeks.

Whether I continue to making that decision to becoming a candidate for President remains to be seen, but if I do and even if I lose–I will still have won and become a better person for the experience of a lifetime. With the favor of the Lord showered upon me, I win!

The Favor of The Lord is Upon Me!

Egos and Bullying!

Egos and Bullying!

Then the LORD said to me, “You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north. Give the people these orders: ‘You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, but be very careful. Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own. You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’ ” The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. So we went on past our relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. We turned from the Arabah road, which comes up from Elath and Ezion Geber, and traveled along the desert road of Moab. Then the LORD said to me, “Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any part of their land. I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as a possession.” Deuteronomy 2:2-9 NIV

Amazing how people accuse others (their political opponents) of being hawkish about war, but then--their false outrage and pathetic ploy to show empathy in a situation pushes their ego into becoming all they said about another. More projection by the #WHidiot.

Only this time–American lives may be lost in the greater scheme of things–unless there was coordinated attempt by Putin and the idiot to use the opportunity to distract from the on-going investigation into the collusion on the part of Putin and trumpteam in the 2016 Election.

And where was Congress in this decision? Again, amazing how they, too–especially the GOP–don’t have a problem with protocol and policy not being followed–to hide their involvement in the 2016 Election fiasco.

Considering the fact that Syria has historically been monstrous to its own people, why involve the US in a military strike? What is the true motive? I believe it is simply a matter of a bully allowing his ego to reign in an attempt to flex muscle he doesn’t really have. Bravado is not muscle–it’s foolishness and the attempt to distract–from the investigation–futile.

But this won’t be the first time. Typically–over the last 20 years, it has been a Republican who involved the US in skirmishes and wars–apparently because their egos won’t allow them to stand down and not interfere until the UN endorses involvement. In all fairness, George Bush waited for Congressional approval to invade Iraq, but one still has to wonder, if anyone consulted God. This situation–in an attempt to eliminate evil has actually led to an on-going situation in which a victory is untenable–by anyone–considering the loss of life and financial expenditure. Are we going to pay for “rebuilding once again” simply because we have an idiot in the White House?

When will Congress find their balls and uphold their oath of office? They have been deliberately negligent in abdicating responsibility in doing their job which leads me and many others to believe–they are complicit in the collusion or at least cooperation in the 2016 election fiasco.

God’s Word is true and inerrant and won’t change the course of things. If He has not been consulted before we do things–the consequences are our own.

Once again–the #WHidiot has demonstrated how unstable and reactive he is. And the rest of us–must seek God and obey so any blood shed will not be on our hands. Of course, those who elected the idiot–will have to own their responsibility in whatever else plays out because of their gullibility in believing a pathological liar.

Never Shaken!

Never Shaken!

LORD, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others; who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the LORD; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken. Psalm 15 NIV

If we do what is said in The Word, we will never be shaken!

So what happens, if we don’t do what’s said in The Word?

Where is God’s sacred tent? The heavens are His and those who live according to His Word and His Judgment will dwell with Him forever. Heaven is my home (my true resting place).

Those whose walk is blameless–we should be living epistles, read of men–and what they see should reflect who God is. This does not mean we–mere human beings are perfect–but we recognize our own shortcomings, acknowledge our fallibility, and apologize when we are wrong. This is what a righteous person does.

Who’s speaking truth from their heart? Those who know The Lord–know that God is not a man that He should lie and that He is the same–yesterday, today, and forever for He has said, “I change not.” It is men who change their minds–consistently–to the point that one could say, no one knows what men will do next. Since hearts are so fickle, can any human being speak truth from their heart if their heart is filled with the love of God, and truth of His Word? No–we cannot–for without His guidance, our knowledge and wisdom are faulty.

Whose tongue utters no slander–can we expect to live with God if we deliberately tell lies about others and even when proven wrong–refuse to back down–admitting we lied? No, we cannot slander others–allowing our egos to rule us and still expect to live for all eternity with God.

Can we treat our neighbors with contempt and show ourselves “unfriendly” when they make attempts to fortify longstanding alliances? No, if we do not respect and honor our neighbors–“love your neighbor as yourself”–we cannot expect to maintain alliances or to dwell in Heaven. President Obama was slandered by 45 and no one in the White House thinks he is owed an apology–since none is forthcoming.

Can we cast slurs on others and still expect to make into Heaven? No–we cannot accuse others of doing something they did not do–without apology or acknowledgment of our being wrong. The British Intelligence Community was accused of doing something they did not do simply because of a lack of knowledge and investigation on the part of the White House team.

It would appear that 45 honors the vile person in Russia and yet despises the honorable in America–President Obama, our Intelligence Community, and our federal judges.

Anyone with seeing eyes and hearing ears can see that 45 has failed to keep his oath of office–when he puts his own personal interest (family/business) or those of his billionaire buddies ahead of the best interest of all Americans.

He has no interest in assisting the poor and with the proposed budget and changes in healthcare–he actually will oppress the poor.

We also know that 45 bribes and has been bribed and has no problem with the concept.

And that is why the White House has been shaken–they are operating on overdrive trying to combat all the negative publicity generated by the shortsighted 45 and his relentless ego-driven tweets. Not only are they shaken, but they can rest assured–they will not dwell for all eternity with God.

For the rest of us–as long as we do what God says and speak His Truth–we will never be shaken by unfolding events.

Justifying The Lying!

Justifying The Lying!

The LORD said to Job: “Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!”Then Job answered the LORD:  “I am unworthy—how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth.I spoke once, but I have no answer— twice, but I will say no more.”  Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm:“Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.“Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?Do you have an arm like God’s, and can your voice thunder like his?  Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at all who are proud and bring them low, look at all who are proud and humble them, crush the wicked where they stand. Bury them all in the dust together; shroud their faces in the grave. Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you. Job 40:14 NIV

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? Numbers  23:19 NIV

And in that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I will hide my face from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters and calamities will come on them, and in that day they will ask, ‘Have not these disasters come on us because our God is not with us?’ Deuteronomy 31:17 NIV

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, Romans 14:17 NIV

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. 1 Corinthians 4:20 NIV

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people. 1 Corinthians 14:33 NIV

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. Hebrews 6:10 NIV

If we look at the plight of America and Americans, we can see that there are problems all around us. Job had problems after Satan got permission from God to test him. Though the assaults were devastating–the loss of property, children, and covered with boils–Job maintained his faith in God. Because of his faith in God, all he had lost was restored.

The story of Job is the oldest known book of the bible and in it we find what real faith in God is. Yes, we acknowledge our circumstances, but we don’t dwell on the negatives and try to see God in all we do. In all of the story–with his friends trying to persuade him to curse God and die and even his wife–Job remains steadfast–determined not to allow anyone to deter his faith in God. And the one thing we must remember in all of his trials–Satan couldn’t do a thing to Job without God’s permission and because God knew Job–He allowed the unfolding events in Job’s life.

Does God know us well enough to know our end from the beginning? Of course He does. He knows who will remain faithful to Him without lying on Him in the process. He knows who will obey and do what they’re told to do whether they understand it or not. He knows the level of our faith and nothing we say or do to justify a lie–especially about Him–will surprise Him.

God is not surprised by the lies people tell on Him–especially those in the “church” arena. In fact, part of the problem is that people are “in churches–the physical buildings” but they are not the church which we are supposed to be. “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 NIV

We are the body of Christ–whoever believes and obeys! It is the body of Christ (the collective group of Believers) who is the church–not a building–where people meet.

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 1 Corinthians 12:12, 13, NIV

Now if we are the Body of Christ–and have been filled with His Spirit--we know when He speaks and we know He will never lie to us and everything He speaks, aligns with The Word of God. So, why then are people–the church leaders lying on God and then trying to justify the lying?

It is simple as breathing. People lie because Satan is their father and we know that it is true because God’s Word tells us so. Since we know God won’t lie we also know He would never choose a liar to govern people. But God allows things to happen and it is possible that Satan got permission to test God’s people as it pertains to the 2016 Election and the people failed the test–because their faith was not in God, but a man–a mere mortal.

And this is why we have the situation in Washington that exists–church leaders failed the test, but God never fails. God has not forsaken those who truly love Him and will obey–even in the midst of persecution and derision. He knows our thoughts from far off and He knows the direction He wants us to take. It is truly unfortunate that many will suffer because of those who sought to control other people rather than allowing Holy Spirit to do His job.

There is no justifying the lying and all those who are yet lying–claiming God chose Trump to be president are lying. If God was in the business of choosing elected leaders then those same people who hated Obama with a vengeance would have to acknowledge that God chose him to be president, too since God is not a respecter of people. Now which it is-is God choosing presidents or is He allowing people to choose through the election process?

God choosing presidents

What?

What?

Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness;”and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God. 1 Corinthians 3:18-23 NIV

Some things just need clarification and so today, I’m going to attempt to clarify some of what Paul has said to the Believers of that era and how it applies to us today.

We are told repeatedly in the bible about not allowing ourselves to be deceived by those who would hoodwink us into believing a lie. If we understand how Satan operates, we know that he approaches some in the guise of a sheep when he is actually a wolf–ready to devour the vulnerable.

You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? Galatians 3:1-3 NIV

Are we living according to the Spirit of God or our flesh and the dictates of man? We are also warned about listening to and obeying what “mere mortals” say over what God has said. The best example we have of courageous souls who chose to obey God rather than “evil authority” is Daniel and Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. They all refused to obey the dictates of an evil authority–one who worshiped idols and knew not God and the evil authority ordered them to be killed–Daniel thrown in the lion’s den and the others into the furnace–heated hotter than ever before. And the outcome–God shut the mouths of the lions and protected them in the blazing fire.

Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?” Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. Daniel 3:15-18 NIV

If we continue reading the story, we see how God is able to save those who belong to Him and with the demonstration of His power, convince others to take Him seriously.

Now, to get back to when we ought to obey those in governmental authority. We are not obligated to obey any authority that does not honor The Word of God. Therefore, when people use the following verse of scripture in an attempt to get us to believe Trump is God’s choice for president, they lie and the truth is not in them. But let’s keep scriptures in context and see what God is saying through Paul, while remembering how Jesus opposed the Pharisees who were an authority.

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. Romans 13:1-5 NIV

Wait for it to sink in. For there is no authority except that which God has established. Remember when Paul is talking to new converts in Rome and then remember when our “democratic process” was established. Was this established by God or man?

Exactly when did God establish the governmental hierarchy we now have? Did He decide we would have a president, vice-president, speaker of the house, etc. or did man make that decision?

If the established authority was indeed established by God–then we could all rest assured the servant of God would know God. How can we be a servant of anyone we don’t know? And if a servant of God is in a position of authority, then it is for our good and we are obligated to obey the established authority in the servant of God. Is Trump a servant of God or of himself? We know by all accounts seen–Trump does not know God and even though there are some who are praying for conversion–the prayers do not negate the fact that since Trump is not a servant of God–he is not an authority established by God, but by man.

But there’s more.

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:6-10 NIV

We are told the authorities are God’s servants who give their full time to governing.

Have we even seen a full-time servant of God governing in the White House lately? And just as a side-bar issue–when Barack Obama was in the White House for eight years–where were all these “Christians” admonishing people with the same passage of scripture they now want others to adhere to with Trump? Double-Standard much? Of course, there is and please note–I’m not saying God chose Barack Obama because I know people chose him and elected him for two terms. In fact, I don’t know of any president that God chose since he never went to the polls to vote.

For those who have been reading my blogs for awhile, you know I’ve criticized Obama when I saw him veering off on more than one occasion. Always, always being the watchman that God has called me to be–no matter who is in what office.

But since we are commanded to love–there is such a huge difference between Obama and Trump that we can see though some of Obama’s policies may have been contrary to the Word of God–what he did, he did out of love for the people he governed.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism. Colossians 3:23-25 NIV

We are told that whatever we do–we should do as unto The Lord, not man. So if we’re going to honor the authority in the White House–acknowledging the established rule of government by man–not God–then we should make sure the person in White House is a servant of God, not of his own greed and need for power. At any time–we see those in authority not obeying God–we are not obligated to submit to them or obey. We are not to turn our backs on those who are the poor and needy and the foreigners in our land. That is not of God. We are to love all and love God.

What we must remember in all of this is one thing–God is our authority and we must always seek His direction for everything we do, not mere mortals since they are fallible and God is infallible.

Whose Wisdom–God’s or Man’s?

Whose Wisdom–God’s or Man’s?

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 1 Corinthians 2:4-13 NIV

ATTENTION ALL CHRISTIANS:

Stop taking The Word of God out of context and teach His Word with the power of His Spirit behind it–who has no biases or intent to deceive.

Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile. So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God. 1 Corinthians 3:18-23 NIV

In order to be a “Christian” one must be a follower of Christ–doing things the way He did them, not the rulers. For He did what His Father directed Him to do. Yes, there were many watching Him and they became envious of Him because He did not rely upon their “wisdom” but the wisdom of the One who sent Him. Since they “the rulers” did not understand this, they conspired and plotted against Jesus out of their own insecurities.

When people are insecure–they began to feel insignificant and jealousy arises in them and takes over every thing they do. It is their insecurities that feed the need for greed of money, power and control over people when God does not want “mere mortals” controlling anyone. He prefers all submit to Holy Spirit control. Notice–I said “He prefers” not He forces–still leaving the choice left up to the individual.

Now–hate me all you want–I don’t really care–no one reading this blog has a heaven or hell for me and I refuse to back down or back away from the mission–my assignment–to keep people warned of the falsehoods and blatant lies, so-called Christians–the pseudo-christians are telling and lying on God. GOD DID NOT CHOOSE TRUMP TO BE PRESIDENT! CHURCH LEADERS WHO SAY OTHERWISE ARE LYING AND GOD WILL DEAL WITH THEM.

Unless a person is totally inept at understanding The Word, the scriptural passages above confirm that people chose Trump, not God–and the church leadership pushed him as God’s choice out of greed–for power, money, and control of the masses–so they could “take away” choice for many. The God of Heaven is a Pro-Choice God–He has always honored our choices, but He has never forced us to do anything.

The end result of all these “pseudo-church leaders” is that many people are being turned off–not only from churches, but their faith in God, because their faith in people has led them astray.

Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand. And I hope that, as you have understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus. 2 Corinthians 1:12-14 NIV

Let me boast in The Lord for a moment! I am so humbled and honored that He chose me to be a Watchman–one who will warn the people of danger when I see it coming–whether I understand it or not. I write as He directs and I know that my opinion–is worthless–if it does not align with His Word (all of it, not selectively–within the context He intended).

Therefore, Bruce R. Mills–God’s Man Forever–your opinion of what I write–matters not since you have shown your true colors–or rather that your true faith resides in the liars who lied on God. It is not me who needs to understand God’s Word–as it pertains to “honoring authority” but you and all those like you who have made a mockery of being a Christian with your support of a lunatic. Do you not recognize tyranny when you see it? Did you not know how fascism begins in the heart of one who does not know God? Are you so blinded by loyalty to a party that you have lost sight of God’s plans for the lives of all who Believe? I suggest you take a sabbatical and spend some time in God’s Word, away from those you hold in high esteem, so you can truly hear God speak to your heart as you seek understanding. I am confident that when you recognize God’s Wisdom, you’ll recognize the lie that you helped to promote.

For those who read my blog on a regular basis–please allow this one instance of personal attention so that there is no misunderstanding in future blog posts. I love Bruce with the Love of The Lord, but he has been influenced by the god of this world and thinks he needs to correct me or admonish me on a consistent basis and this needs to stop. I have not heretofore referenced him in any blog post before this one and I will not do so again, but the foolishness has to stop and since I am the one who writes these blogs–the buck stops here. I am totally accountable and responsible for what I write whether people agree with it or not and as long as I know I hear Holy Spirit when He speaks, I will continue to write–encouraging, inspiring, and warning people of the dangers of those who profess to know Christ when their actions tell another story.

May The Lord bless all you do that honors Him, to His glory!
