The Power Terror Doesn’t Have!

The Power Terror Doesn’t Have!

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. Psalm 91:1-10 NIV

Though darkness creeps upon us like dense fog and we cannot see our way, we can be assured of this one thing–God has never failed those who love and trust Him. Those who live according to His Word–in all things–shall know victory, joy and peace.

Father, in the name of Jesus,

We thank You for keeping watch over us throughout the night and we thank You even more for resolving whatever may make hearts faint and weary on a daily basis. We know that in You–we have peace and joy and through You–victory reigns in every area of our lives.

We know that no weapon formed against us, shall prosper. None of the evil that the wicked plot against us shall keep us from hearing and obeying You.

We know that You are more than the world against us and we have no need to fear what any man plans.

We know that Your Word is true and that You are not a man that You should ever lie to us and that we can count on Your Word to see us through the valleys, in the fire, and climbing the mountains, through the floods–that appear to overwhelm us.

We know that perfect love–unconditional love towards one another–casts aside fear for where love is–fear and hate cannot abide.

We know that You are Love and that none who claim to know You can hate people or promote hatred of others simply because they are different.

We know that You are the Only Wise God–though many may serve other gods or think they are gods. You are the only one who created all things and without You, nothing was ever created.

We know that You are the same–Your character never changes from the beginning to the end and we can count on You to be faithful to Your Word.

We know that any battle we enter into is not truly ours, but Yours when it comes to standing up for justice and defending the rights of the poor and needy.

We know that You have assigned angels to watch over us day and night and we thank You for the love and protection from those things or people who would harm us or put obstacles in our path to keep us from doing Your Will.

You said, whatever we ask of You in Your Son’s name, would be granted and we ask You right now, in the name of Jesus, restore sanity, peace, dignity and integrity in all who trust and worship You in the beauty of holiness. Provide an avenue by which all Americans will know You and You alone have the final word over all of our lives.

We thank You for giving us rest in You all the days we have left to praise You.

Amen!

To Whom The Lord Is Speaking!

To Whom The Lord Is Speaking!

These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this,” declares the LORD. Zechariah 8:16, 17

For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways. Proverbs 2:6-15 NIV

Many people attempt to read the bible like a novel or documentary–totally dispassionate with no connection to the words they read, void of understanding. Reading the bible for understanding must be conducted with the ability to connect and align all of what is said, for no one verse of scripture is meant to be a stand-alone.

From the first book to the last and all in between the message from God to us is clear--we ought to obey Him, rather than man and in order to do that–we must love Him and love one another. If we have not the love of God residing within, we cannot have love for our fellow human beings. For God is love and the only thing He hates is sin–He does not hate people and never encourages evil–harm to another without cause. And the only cause we have for harming another is protection of self when attacked without reason or in the midst of wars.

We are to submit to God in all things, resist the devil and all the evil that’s afoot and he (the devil) will flee. Most people remember the “resist” part, but totally ignore the “submit” part that comes first.

With all the hatred demonstrated recently, we can see there is no submission to God–just evil from those with a dark heart and evil plots running through their minds. And the hatred and the haters feel empowered by the one they elected to lead a nation–that I refuse to believe–denounces love and propagates hate–of others simply because of differences. Even though it seems like all is lost–integrity, honor, love, and common sense–we have a Savior in Jesus Christ and we know He has not forgotten us. And we also know that judgment–will come–upon all who promote hatred and bigotry.

How do we recognize those who hate? By their lack of love for others who are different than them. We know those who hate by looking at what they promote and their desire to control others. We know those who hate when “reason” is not part of their intellectual toolbox. We know those who hate when  their actions towards others are instigated out of a sense of superiority rather than love. We know those who hate because their insecurities about self fuel hatred for others. We know who they are for The Word has given us insight and given us ample ammunition to fight back.

Our fight–begins with the love of God overflowing from within, seeking and receiving His Wisdom, refusing to engage in the foolishness on the terms of the foolish, and in obeying God in all things–totally submitted to His leading and thereby resisting the temptation to acts as the unrighteous act.

How do we know when we are fighting the good fight of faith? When we stay in The Word, understand who God is speaking to and why and determine to live our lives for Him who loves us, not in fear from those who hate us.

When we are admonished to speak out against injustice–we simply do so for The Lord is with us and He will not allow us to sit quietly and do nothing when people are treated callously and inhumanely. When we are told to speak truth in the face of the lies promoted by evil, we must speak truth based upon His Word, not our opinions. This is what we do when we are in the army of The Lord–we fight to combat hatred with love, and evil with love–never veering from the path of righteousness.

We stand on The Word of God allowing it to shine brightly into our lives and into the lives of those we meet and greet and we will not walk in darkness in order to appease the evil all around us. For the just (those living according to God’s Word) shall live by faith in God–not man! In Him alone, shall we trust for He is the only one who is worthy!

Perspectives of Truth!

Perspectives of Truth!

“My covenant was with him, a covenant of life and peace, and I gave them to him; this called for reverence and he revered me and stood in awe of my name. True instruction was in his mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sin. “For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the LORD Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth. But you have turned from the way and by your teaching have caused many to stumble; you have violated the covenant with Levi,” says the LORD Almighty. “So I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have shown partiality in matters of the law.”Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our ancestors by being unfaithful to one another?  Malachi 2:5-10 NIV

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31,32 NIV

So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:24-28 NIV

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? Galatians 4:16 KJV

How do we determine what is truth–especially God’s truth? We determine His truth by The Word. If what we say or teach does not align with The Word, then we are in error and even if people don’t recognize it–God does and if we are not open to His correction, we will deal with the consequences of our action.

When we look at Malachi and actually see what the prophet is saying–we know that he is talking to the Levitical priests–throughout. He’s reminding them they have fallen short on being obedient to what God has told them to do. The temple was falling into disrepair because the religious leaders were more concerned about their own personal agendas.

And religious leaders today–are more concerned about their personal agendas than in teaching people the truth of God’s Word. Primarily–we who have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of our lives–and are filled with Holy Spirit–have no need of men or women to lead us to truth. Our role as Believers is to unite in fellowship to encourage one another to stay the course and when we see–others misleading God’s people–those who know truth are commanded to speak truth–in love–but that truth must align with God’s Word and cannot be a version of another’s truth.

As such, there should be no distinctions among Believers as to nationality, ethnicity, gender or beliefs. That is–if we are all teaching The Word and not what someone else has said. And if we encourage, promote, or support racism, hatred and bigotry and promote false doctrine that does not align with God’s Word–we do not belong to Him.

I know I belong to my Father–my Daddy–because that’s the role I’ve given Him in my life. I know without a doubt that I can trust Him and my heart is always open to hear Him. When I hear Him–as stated before–I confirm what I heard in His Word, not by what other people have written.

One of the greatest travesties observed today is the lack of reverence for God’s Truth by those who promote their own and when questioned–they cannot provide alignment in God’s Word. It’s not that I think I’m the only one who hears God–I know that’s not true–and nor do I expect people to believe me over God’s Word. I write with the anticipation and expectation that with a foundation of what I say based on The Word, people will seek The Word for further enlightenment or clarity.

I truly wish I had the time to do a thorough synopsis and analysis of all God has said to me and the confirmation of His Word that ignites what I write. Maybe one day, I’ll have the time, but that time is not now so I end up writing snippets of what I hear Him saying to me.

I encourage all to seek The Lord for Truth of His Word–not men or women–for we are all flawed, imperfect human beings. And if we truly seek Him for Truth–we shall be set free to teach and promote Truth–according to His Word, not our feelings or personal agendas. God’s Word is the only perspective of Truth we shall ever need.

This I know because my Daddy tells me so–there is no need to be fearful or offended by His Truth because only living according to His Truth, matters. If people are offended by His Truth, then perhaps–that is the reason they become offended when His Truth is promoted over man’s truth.

Let all who Believe and walk according to God’s Word commit to teaching His Truth and not others.

When Souls Are at Risk!

When Souls Are at Risk!

From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.” Matthew 16:19-26 NIV

Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice.Proverbs 16:8 NIV

Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool— how much worse lying lips to a ruler! Proverbs 17:7 NIV

How do we lose our soul? By trying to live according to man’s dictates rather than living by The Word of God and obeying what we hear Him say to us.

When man thinks it is more important for people to listen to them, than to God, souls are at risk. Since I’ve never been one to try to please people, I try to make sure my soul–my soul–remains in position to be blessed by God, knowing where my eternity shall be spent. All is well with my soul!

Now, because of my love for God and the desire to please Him, what I do is often misinterpreted as being an act of disobedience by some who think they know more than God. I realize that God has given us all a gift–specifically–purposed by Him, for Him. Though I did not recognize the gift as a child when I was always the one trying to maintain peace among kids on the playground and in school, I do recognize it now. He has always used me to fight for the underdog–those who were not capable of speaking up for themselves or not willing to do so because of fear.

Looking back at the endeavors I’ve undertaken, I can see how I was being prepared for such a moment as this. I’ve always been a community activist–fighting for justice and equality for the oppressed. I’ve never had a lot of money, but what I had, I often used to help others in need and God has tremendously blessed my life. So, I know when I hear God speak to me and another–I will not hear. I will not be tempted by religious affiliation to steer others onto a path that is not of God.

When trying to choose between two job offers–one that paid more money and was fairly secure and the other that paid less and offered no job security, but involved defending the rights of poor people. I prayed and found in His Word the right path for me–taking the job that paid less, but enriched my life.

I’ve spent years volunteering my time and skills to help others who could not afford to pay for the services I rendered, but the joy of the Lord was kept alive in my heart by their gratitude, not their money.

As an educator–my purpose was to give those students I taught what they needed to succeed beyond the walls of a classroom and when I see some of them now, they let me know how much they appreciate me–pushing them to do their very best.

And now I understand more than ever how important it is to hear God for ourselves and obey what He’s telling us today. I am still an avenger for justice and though I lose the approval of man, I know I have the approval of God when I obey Him, rather than man.

Until the end comes–the end of life or the end of my ability to type–I will obey God because my soul is too important for me to heed the words of mere mortals over the voice of God. My soul belongs to Jesus and another will not cause me lose my place in eternity, simply to pacify another mere mortals with religious rhetoric.

Lord, I thank You for giving me another opportunity to glorify You in all I do. Forgive my reluctance to act even sooner, not obeying what I heard You say, out of concern for what others might think, because I didn’t understand, clearly. I will hear and obey–whether I understand it or not so people will not have to live under the dictates of fearmongers and hatemongers who pretend to know You, but don’t. And now I ask Your continued blessings and wisdom to be poured into all who desire to please You as we continue our journey to defend the rights of the poor, needy and oppressed.

As Long As God Is

As Long As God Is

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2 NIV

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,  he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23 NIV

I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds. 2 Corinthians 7:4 NIV

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity. The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming. Psalm 37:3-13 NIV

This day and every day, we need reminding that as long as God is still on the throne, we can trust Him to keep His promises and we have no need to fear man. And while we have no need to fear man, we do need to be watchmen and warn others of the impending dangers. That is the role of the watchman and everyone who proclaims that Jesus Christ is Lord–is a watchman.

The Lord has encouraged my heart and reminded me that as long as I hear Him and obey, He will continue to bless me. Therefore, this morning after I woke up and before I got out of bed, I heard Him say, As Long As He Is…we can make it.

As long as God is the authority in our lives, we have no need to fear what man or woman should say or do.

As long as God is the Alpha and Omega in our lives, we have no need for mere man to guide us in anything.

As long as God is the light we see in the midst of darkness, our hope shall overcome anything the wicked attempt to do.

As long as God is the answer to every question, we shall continue to encourage one another in His love.

As long as God is hope of glory in the heart of every Believer, we have no need for anyone to control us or have any authority in our lives.

As long as God is the only self-existing, self-sufficient One in our lives, we have no need to depend on others who are dependent upon Him.

As long as God is the voice of reason to which we hear and obey, we shall not fear what the enemy does for our reward for living according to God’s Word is secure with Him.

As long as God Is, we have no need to depend upon the voices of others that waver and promote fear instead of love.

Though there may be clouds in our lives and darkness attempts to shut out the light, when we know our relationship with Jesus Christ is what it should be, we will survive and thrive, watching how God shows Himself so all will see.  He is the light in the midst of darkness; He is our hope and as long as we know, we are strengthened by His joy in us, we can make it!

As long as God Is not a man we know will never lie to us or mislead us, we can rest–assured of His love and His faithfulness.

As long as God is the Great Shepherd in our lives, we can trust Him and have no need for those who won’t do as He does.

Throughout the Bible, we are reminded of His love for us, His faithfulness to us, and His mercy and grace that are poured out upon us, daily! If we are more dependent upon His Word and a right relationship with Him, He will keep us from being misled by the words and works of the enemy.

We know He is love and will only promote love.

We know He is light and will not attempt to hide who He is in darkness or dark ways.

We know He is truth and cannot lie.

And we know that there is no other name by which we can be saved– other than Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

To Whom Do We Owe Loyalty?

To Whom Do We Owe Loyalty?

Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us, and He will heal us; He has wounded us, and He will bind up our wounds. He will revive us after two days, and on the third day He will raise us up so we can live in His presence. Let us strive to know the LORD. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the land. What am I going to do with you, Ephraim? What am I going to do with you, Judah? Your loyalty is like the morning mist and like the early dew that vanishes. This is why I have used the prophets to cut them down; I have killed them with the words of My mouth. My judgment strikes like lightning. For I desire loyalty and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:1-6 HCSB

Today, as most days, I seek The Lord for what I should say. And I must admit, that with a heart that is saddened by those who think they have a right to “control” what I say, on my blog, I will hate to see you go your way, but my loyalty is to the God of Heaven and I will not allow another to persuade me otherwise.

God in His infinite wisdom, has given us who choose to serve Him, access to His wisdom and with His Wisdom, we can be confident in saying what He says, no matter what the opposition thinks. I’m reminded of the Pharisees and Sadducees, who were religious, but did not have a right relationship with God. They were more concerned with holding people to the letter of The Law (which is no longer our guide since we have Holy Spirit), than in the spirit of The Law, they did not uphold themselves.

This is where we understand the hypocrisy of those in the temple. They were not concerned about the people, but in their control of the people and thought the people should be loyal to them. Their stance is what moved them to arrange to silence Jesus! They did not understand His purpose on earth and thought He was simply trying to wrest control from them. That’s what religious people do–they want to control people because they have no trust in God.

When religious leaders promote loyalty to them rather than right relationship with God, we are bound to create hostile environments in the atmosphere when true Believers understand that our loyalty is to God, not people. And what the prophet Hosea is saying to us even now, is that our loyalty to man will cause us problems with God.

I’ve addressed a very personal situation with another blogger before and I must address again so everyone reading this will understand my position. NO ONE, and I mean no one will ever dictate what I write on my blog. Though I appreciate those reading it, I will not do the bidding of a mere mortal and forsake what I know God is speaking to me.

I will never support a person or a group of people who support those who promote racism and bigotry. God is love and nowhere in the bible do we find God advocating hatred–other than that of sin–not people, simply because they don’t look like us. If you believe God is a racist bigot–that’s on you. The God I serve promotes love–even when we don’t like what people have done or are doing–we still love them and pray for them. God will do what God does in their lives when they are ready to receive His bountiful blessings–not because we attempt to control others.

For those who feel they have to control the environment through denying a person’s right to choose–anything–they demonstrate their lack of trust in God. For if our trust is in God, we have to trust Him to be who He is in the lives of everyone. That’s demonstrating loyalty to God. Supporting a divisive person who’s only goal is to enrich himself at the expense of others and to belittle and humiliate people, is not a character trait that God would approve. This is loyalty to mortals and if people are more loyal to people than God, then they will get their just consequence.

I owe no loyalty to a mere mortal or a political party. My loyalty belongs to God and God alone and nothing mere mortals say or do will ever change that. Why is that? Mere mortals do not have a heaven or hell for me so what they think–is irrelevant–when what they think and promote–opposes the character of God.

But no one has to take my word for anything. We all have choices to make and I choose to Believe God, not religious people who want to control others.

We Are His Children!

We Are His Children!

“Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’ Hosea 1:10 NIV

No matter what happens, The Word of God is for all of His Children and all who have turned to Him and away from sin are His children.

Like the children of men–we are not perfect, but He is a perfect God and He knows how to deal with His children–even the rebellious ones and He will never turn His back on His own.

So, to reiterate a theme of the week–don’t allow fear to lead you to despair and eventual destruction. With Jesus on our side–we can rest with the assurance that He is more than the world against us and no matter what battle we face–in the end, we win.

Let the naysayers and doubters believe what they will--don’t argue–for argument with the foolish and unlearned is futile; just stay focused on Him who loves all and will eventually be recognized and praised for who He is–even those who claimed they did not believe. Oh yes, the time is coming and will be upon us quickly when we will all stand before The Lord and be judged–not for what others have done, but for what we have done or not done that would promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

With the wisdom of God deeply embedded into our hearts, we have all we need to make decisions about every area of our lives. With the love of God overflowing onto all, we have all we need to make life sweeter for all we meet.

There are some things we’ll never be able to change and there are some people who may never respond to the call of God to live as He lives in us and that will be their undoing. We have no control over what others do, but we do have control over what we do. When we stand before God, He will not ask us about other people and what they did, but He will call us to give account for all we have done since we came into the knowledge of who He really is. Those things we did for which we have repented will never be brought up to us by God for He forgives and tosses our sin into the sea of forgetfulness.

Our wonderful Father, who gives good gifts to all of His children--have no need to fear what the enemy is doing, but we need to be aware of the enemy’s influence in those who attempt to turn us away from believing in God and His ways. We are His children and we have access to all His many benefits–let’s receive and bring others into the fold so they, too, can enjoy His love and belonging to Him.

Don’t Despair!

Don’t Despair!

It shall come to pass in the day the LORD gives you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear and the hard bondage in which you were made to serve, that you will take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say: “How the oppressor has ceased,
The golden city ceased! The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked,
The scepter of the rulers; He who struck the people in wrath with a continual stroke,
He who ruled the nations in anger, Is persecuted and no one hinders. The whole earth is at rest and quiet; They break forth into singing. Isaiah 14:3-7 NKJV

Our day of rest is coming–rest from hearing adults act like children, rest from watching entire cities being bombed and entire populations diminished, rest from debating the merit of being religious versus being in relationship with God–rest–from all the cares of the world and we will see the world break forth into singing.

Is your song ready?

“Great is thy faithfulness, Great is they faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see.”

“He’s an awesome God.”

“There is none like You.”

“Worship Him.”

Here’s one I’ll sing–and this is the first view:

Lord God Almighty,

How I adore You

How I wait–for Your Return

Lord God Almighty,

You who know all about us,

And loved us, equally

In spite of our flaws.

Lord God Almighty,

Though I may not be perfect,

I try to live Your Word

And more than anything,

Promote love as Your Laws.

Lord God Almighty,

Hear our plea

And Give Rest to The Weary,

Courage to the fainthearted,

Faith to the hopeless,

Standing Firm until the end.

Lord God Almighty,

Only You know

The Day of Your Return,

And I wait–to live with You forever!

For those who are thinking, “what’s the point of continuing to live in such a crazy world,” don’t despair, live on any way. God has something wonderful in store for you–just for you–and He intends for it happen. Don’t let the enemy influence you to become fearful of anything man can do or has done--just look to Him and know you are loved beyond measure and no matter what you have done–He is willing to forgive and keep you on the path He has established for you. Let Him into your heart and allow Him to reign and watch how blessed you will be–when you belong to Him.

Whatever is going on in your life that makes you want to stop living–remember–this is just a temporary moment–and it shall pass. Live the life that God has planned for you and give the devil notice that you will not believe his lies–you will live and praise God for His love and mercy and grace.

Don’t Let Fear Mislead!

Don’t Let Fear Mislead!

The LORD has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The LORD, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm. On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” “I will remove from you all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals, which is a burden and reproach for you At that time I will deal with all who oppressed you. I will rescue the lame; I will gather the exiles. I will give them praise and honor in every land where they have suffered shame. At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the LORD. Zephaniah 3:15-20 NIV

Our trust and allegiance should be to The Lord only.

It is The Lord who makes a way out of no way.

It is The Lord who knows all about us and it is The Lord who determines the end from the beginning. In the midst of all that is happening around–we who know The Lord, have no need to fear the rumor-mongers, the hate-mongers or the fear-mongers for their job is to create fear and doubt to control those who refuse to hear God.

So why are Believers fearful? When we listen to the wrong sources–those sources who do nothing all day long except create doubt and fear–those who listen, eventually become fearful and all they know to do is to promote fear. This is a trick of the enemy and fear–when allowed to control a person’s thinking–always leads to devastating consequences.

If perfect love–unconditional love–casts fear aside, why are people allowing fear to creep into their hearts and minds and rule? Is their action a result of an absence of love? Or is it that they have believed the enemy and are afraid that their numbers will be diminished by those they hate?

We are in need of a Savior and for those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior–we’re good. We have no need for a man or a woman to save us. But for those who don’t know–salvation does not come through a mere human being and nothing they say will save us from the destruction ignited from people living in fear.

Fear causes people to do stupid things. They kill without thinking for they think everyone is against them. They malign others to deflect attention from themselves. They shriek instead of talking to people because the tone instills fear in others–making them believe the worst is about to befall us. Where fear reigns–Love is absent.

Don’t be mislead by fear–especially the fears that are manufactured by fear-mongers who only want to control your mind and soul. Fill your heart with God’s love to overflowing and allow that overflow to spread like a wildfire so others will know Love.

There’s no need to fear–anyone or anything–when the love of Christ resides in our hearts.

When The Enemy Raises his Head!

When The Enemy Raises his Head!

There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’ So Israel will live in safety; Jacob will dwell secure in a land of grain and new wine, where the heavens drop dew. Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights.” Deuteronomy 33:26-29 NIV

Have we forgotten that we who Believe have been adopted into the family by the work on the Cross? We are spiritual Israel and have access to the same promises made to the Children of Israel before God came down from heaven in the likeness of man. We have no need to fear what the enemy might do–we simply need to maintain our focus on Him who is more than enough–to keep us protected from anything the enemy might plan.

This is why it is important to know–who is really a Believer and who is simply cowering under the banner of Christianity--fearful of everything and promoting their fear to anyone who dares to listen. There is no need to fear with Jesus on our side–He is more than the world against us, so why do Christians become fear-mongers, allowing fear of “what might be” to keep their focus off the One who does not change His mind about what He desires for us?

If we truly Believe God’s Word–we have no need to fear anyone or any event. The enemy’s job is to use fear and doubt as a tactic or strategy to make sure people focus on their situation or those things going around them rather than looking up–for our help comes from The Lord!

The enemy has already been defeated with the bloodshed of Jesus Christ and He has given us power to keep him under our feet. So why don’t we? Why are we listening to men–who fear their own shadows, who promote hatred and bigotry faster than they can breathe? Why are we allowing the fickleness of man to deter us from knowing that God wins in the end and for those of us who trust Him–rather than man–we also win!

Some may trust in horses and chariots–the tools used in the battle, but I will trust in The Lord–for He is watching and He knows all about our troubles! The battle is not ours; it is The Lord’s and He cannot be defeated!
